Check in and were easy. Had no car but went all over downtown. We mostly walked and used uber but the CTA access was close.
Great location, with in walking distance of train station, really close to great restaurants and waliking distance to downtown (30min) You feel safe walking around. The description and amenities are as listed, they had coffee provided they also had shampoo conditioner provided, we asked for adtional sheets and towels and they were left on the closet for our use. Over all great experience.
We would recomend this property and definetly stay here again on our next trip to Chicago.
1.) The property appeared to be either under renovations or clearly neglected. If it was under renovations, you had a duty to inform us of such
2.) The front entrance to the building planter boxes had been emptied and dumped onto the area where the tree is located
3.) The entryway was filthy
4.) The hallways and stairways carpet was filthy but unraveling in areas
5.) Hallway walls were completely covered in spackling and were filthy
6.) The entry lock to the condo dwelling was not installed correctly, it was crooked
7.) Food was left in the freezer of the refrigerator (ice cream sandwiches)
8.) The hallway light bulb was burnt out
9.) One of the vanity bathroom light bulbs was burnt out
10.) The bathroom towels were stained
11.) The bathroom carpet appeared to have never been cleaned and was worned out and used
12.) The shower walls had mold within the grout
13.) The only window in the unit could nit be opened to 'air' out the musty smell of the unit
14.) The main carpet by the bed (the large green one) was nor secured and due to the extreme slippery effect of the flooring, we had to roll it up to avoid
us from slipping on the carpet and falling on to the floor
15.) The pillows were old and used, they barely were 2" thick, they were completely flattened
16.) The bed (mattress) was old
17.) The frying pan's teflon coating was coming off
18.) No hot pads (mittens) were available to remove any hot item from the oven
19.) You have power surge cords throughout the unit and have multiple electrical appliance and other devices plugged into these power cords
20.) The wiring for the television, telephone, cable etc, was a joke on wire management
21.) Other than mere basic cable, nothing was available for our viewing
22.) No Wi-Fi was ever available for us and we were expecting to Skype with our granddaughter for her 4th birthday!
23.) The ironing board was broken
24.) We were awakened on Saturday at 2:15am by your tenant's loud music and we had a funeral to attend to that day!
Your excuses for ALL of the above listed were just that ........ excuses!
We stayed in the garden unit 9/8/12 to 9/15/12. Loved the location, bed was comfortable, not too soft...Coffee packs were provided, we ran out, called and they dropped more by. Since we were traveling with carry-on luggage only, the provided shampoo, body wash was appreciated. We dropped our luggage @ noonish Sat. and were able to leave it the following Sat. in the closet, picked it up @ 2;30pm, as we had a 6pm flight. FANTASTIC location, would definately stay again
My husband and I were in Chicago for a family reunion. The condo was very clean, they provided us with coffee for the mornings. You are 1 block from the lake where there is a running/walking/bicycle trail to workout. There are approximately 10 restaurants within 2 blocks of this condo. There is ample shopping and taxis available within a few minutes of walking out of the door daily. Even though you are close to everything the condo is quiet at night. We go back to Chicago at least once a year to see family but we like the downtown area and we will definitely stay here again. I told all 140 members of my family about this place so they will be recommending people stay there as well. The Blue Agave rest. has great Mexican Food. The Lux Bar has amazing Filet Mignon and Lobster sliders. The Original Pancake House has huge portions, I recommend sharing. We have property on the vacation rental by owner website but had never stayed at a rental. We will definitely try VRBO before looking for a hotel from now on.
