very nice

  • 5 of 5

We were up for our 40th LMC Class Reunion. It was a wonderful house and we truly enjoyed our stay. Very nicely furnished. I would say the only suggestion would be the location of the lockbox. For us old folk :) it was not real easy to get to, but we did it:) Thanks for everything!

Great location!

  • 4 of 5

This house was beautiful inside, we loved sliding around on the hardwood floors in our socks. The kitchen was great, rooms were spacious, and not cluttered at all. We had so much fun five days just wasn't enough, and we hope to return to this house in the winter. That being said it needed to be cleaned before my family could settle in. The beds weren't made and looked as if someone just got out of bed before we arrived. I had to wash the sheets before we could sleep on them because they weren't laundered, not a big deal for me but it would've been nice not to have to clean. The owner was very responsive and sweet. You won't regret staying here we absolutely loved it.

Owner's Response: I am glad you had a wonderful time at the house. So sorry the beds where not made the house should have been made up ready to go. My cleaner is normally very good, and has every thing looking great. There seemed to be a miscomunication with dates. I will try my best to see this never happens again Teri

Great price for a great home.

  • 4 of 5

The layout of this home is perfect. It's light and bright and not cluttered with unecessary decor that can get in the way. The bedrooms, bathrooms, living area, closets, back deck and kitchen are roomy. The large 6 top dining table is convenient and comfortable. The home has beautiful details on the inside which include wood floors throughout, high celings and a sound system that feeds into each room. Although the property is the first lot from the road, the road noise is not a problem. The owner is very kind and attentive. We had a few minor issues like no paper towels which you don't realize you need until they're not around, so bring some. The beds and floors are very squeaky which can be a problem when traveling with a small child but may not a big deal to others. The living room fan, blinds and rock fireplace were so dusty that large chunks of dust began flying when we turned on the fan. We had to turn the fan off because our eyes became irritated. The home seemed clean but just needs a good spring cleaning. The most serious problem with this home is the front entrance. It is downright dangerous. The entrance is high up which is fine but the railing to the stairs is very loose. Also, it seems they forgot a step. There is a huge drop from one step to the next. However, there is a back entrance that can be used for children and adults that may have difficulty with this set up. Despite these problems we would stay in this home again because the pros outweigh the cons and the cons can be worked around.

Great relaxing getaway!

  • 5 of 5

The house is beautiful with very nice furnishings. Loved the hardwood floors. Comfortable bed. No snow this time of year, so enjoyed a relaxing weekend just enjoying the scenery, preparing our own meals and exploring nearby Banner Elk and Boone. Cool nights, so could enjoy a fire, even using Duraflame logs. This house has everything needed for a relaxing getaway!
