A charming Gatlinburg cabin within walking distance of downtown, River Romance offers convenience, comfort, romance, and fun. With two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and room to sleep up to six guests, it’s great for two couples or a small family. It’s near the fun of the Parkway, but it’s also peacefully situated along the Little Pigeon River.

River Romance is the cozy cabin you imagine when thinking of a stress-free Gatlinburg vacation. It’s located on a flat street in downtown Gatlinburg, so its flat parking area makes arrivals and unpacking a breeze. You won’t have to worry about curving, icy mountain roads or parking on a steep drive. River Romance also has a small grassy area outside, so kids can play around when they need some fresh air.

The other outside space at River Romance, the spacious deck overlooking the Little Pigeon River, is where adults will love relaxing. It features a soothing hot tub, a dining table for four, a charcoal grill, and bench seating. At night, unwind under the stars as you soothe your tired muscles. You will feel completely swept away with the sound of the river rushing by.

Inside, you’ll feel right at home in the charming living area. A comfortable sofa and cozy chairs flank a big screen TV with DVD player and movies. The warm wood interiors and wood-burning fireplace offer a homey atmosphere, inviting guests to curl up for a movie or gear up for ballgame. Another living space looking out onto the deck offers a great space for reading, taking an afternoon nap, listening to music, or playing with little ones. It features a plush sofa, a large window, a soft rug, and a stereo.

The fully-equipped kitchen, conveniently situated between the two living areas, offers a place for making snacks or cooking family meals. Bright green cabinets make the space feel cheery, and black appliances and granite countertops keep it luxurious. The kitchen offers the dishes and utensils you need, along with appliances and a lovely dining table set for four.

At the end of the night, the two bedrooms are romantic spaces for couples. One bedroom features a king size bed and a private bath, while the other has a queen size bed and a bathroom just outside the door. Each has its own TV.

A cabin that’s all about convenience and comfort, River Romance also offers a washer and dryer, wireless Internet, and a sleeper sofa for additional guests. If you want to be near it all but still comfortable and relaxed, check out River Romance! This cozy two bedroom cabin is a relaxing Smoky Mountain escape.

Really enjoyed our stay

  • 5 of 5

We had a really great stay. Tons to do in the area. And the cottage/cabin was great.

Pros: Clean. Cozy. Great location -- on the river and right on the edge of town. Mountain coaster literally across the street. Fire pit right on the river.

Cons: Watch for optional fees getting tacked on automatically -- such as trip cancellation insurance and property insurance. (Management removed the fees quickly once we objected when they showed on the bill the day after making the reservation.)

Take note: There is no longer a deck or a hot tub.

We would stay there again in a heart beat. It was pretty near perfect.

loved River Romance

  • 5 of 5

Really enjoyed staying at River Romance. The cabin was clean, had lots of the amenities I wanted, and was really close to downtown. We walked downtown to eat every night and check out local attractions. I slept really well on the bed, but my favorite part was the hot tub. I spent most of my time at the cabin in the hot tub or just watching the river from the deck. It's a great cabin if you want to hang out downtown or want to be close to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge.

Wonderful stay with family

  • 5 of 5

I had a wonderful weekend away with my family (my husband and in-laws) at River Romance in April. The cabin was cozy, peacefully situated along the river, and was spotless! We loved listening to the river as we relaxed in the hot tub at night and watching movies in the living room before we went to bed. We also loved being walking distance to downtown - we walked to dinner and Hillbilly Golf just down the road. It was so convenient to everything, but it was still really quiet. It was just the relaxing and fun weekend I needed! The flat driveway was also really great for loading up the car. Everyone I dealt with was great, which made my experience that much better. I'd recommend this cabin to anyone!

Can't recommend this place. Dirty, Management Company Nightmare, etc...

  • 2 of 5

My wife, two kids and I just checked out of this place today. We are leaving two days early from what became a nightmare of a vacation.

Problem #1: To start off we showed up to the property when the cleaning person was leaving the property prior to our stay. The first thing that we examined was if the hot tub had been cleaned and sanitized. Danny the cleaning person quickly told me that it had not, so I asked him to please do so. You could tell that the chemicals were very strong, and we couldn't allow my 3 year old to get in a hot tub so heavy in chemical. Danny went ahead and emptied the hot tub and started refilling it. Therefore, we didn't have use of the hot tub our first night in the place, because the water was not warm enough.

Problem #2: The Wifi that we were told was in the cabin did not work. We called right away on Sunday, and was told someone would be out to look at it on Monday. The repair person came out the next day as promised, and confirmed that we were not crazy. The modem was not working. We were told by the repair person that he would call the cable company, and order another modem. He would also call us when he got in touch with the cable company. Two days went by and the repair guy still hasn't called. We chose the cabin because of the good cell phone reception in Gatlinburg, and the Internet that this cabin was to offer. The lady working that Sunday evening at Cabins For You could care less of the reason we needed Internet. She didn't are that I needed it because I had two real estate transactions falling by the waste side, and we had contracts that needed to be taken care of. This was a horrible experience.

Problem#3 - Sanitation Issues... Because the hot tub was a little deep and rough for my three year old, we told him that he could have a bath in the jetted tub that evening. We filled up the tub, and when we turned on the hot tub black junk shot all over our three year old. We are not sure if this was mildew, mold, hair particles from shaving or what kind of smudge quickly filled the tub.

Wednesday morning we left the cabin to head back to Myrtle Beach early, and attempted to call Cabins For You several times to let them know that we were leaving. We reached an operator around 8:30am, and Marcia took our names and number and told us that a manager would be in touch with us when she got in at 11:00am. Around 1:00pm we called again and the manager Nicole picked up the phone. We told her our situation, our experience and t

Owner's Response: Our check in time is at 4pm. Customer Woodard arrived at his cabin at noon and the housekeepers had just arrived to clean the cabin. The housekeeper and her husband phoned us to tell us the guests could leave their luggage in one corner but they needed to have access to the cabin to clean. We tried calling the customers multiple times without an answer. The housekeeper had to clean around the guests while they were in the cabin. They usually do sections at a time but the guests were moving around and calling them over to different spots. The prior guests were a little rough on the house so it is possible that areas were missed that needed attention. However, since Customer Woodard and his family checked in early and stayed in the cabin while it was being cleaned, housekeepers were rushed and interrupted during their cleaning. Unfortunately we can not guarantee certain amenities/appliances to work 100% of the time but we do work to get any issues resolved quickly and as soon as possible. The prior guests did not phone in any issues with the internet so we were unaware that there was a problem prior to Customer Woodard's arrival. The internet was fixed prior to the next reservation check in. We would have been glad to move Customer Woodard to a different cabin had he called us to let us know that he wanted to leave the cabin. We do not want our guests to feel like they have to stay in a cabin they are not comfortable with. However, we were notified of his departure too late to accommodate him elsewhere. Our guests agreement does state that no refunds can be given unless the dates rebooked. Unfortunately we were not able to get the dates rebooked for Customer Woodard.

Love this cabin!

  • 5 of 5

This is one of my absolute favorite cabins! It has an incredible view from the master bedroom, overlooking the river. The cabin's space is well utilized with plenty of room for a family. It is extremely peaceful with a back deck right by the river. The decor matches the cabin perfectly and everything was spotless. It is also within walking distance to downtown Gatlinburg which saves you from wasting the time driving downtown and looking for a parking space. Would recommend this cabin to anyone and would love to go back.
