This cozy home is located in a gated community on Highway 108, between Twain Harte and Pinecrest Lake. Situated in the Stanislaus National Forest, the home enjoys beautiful views of the private fishing/swimming lake and the pine mountains from two large decks. At an elevation of 4500 feet, you'll enjoy crisp mountain air, a continuous breeze, and the possibility of beautiful winter snow during your stay here.
The cabin has two floors with sleeping accommodations for ten people, including infants. It features a fully-equipped kitchen. There are three TVs with Direct TV satellite service, internet is provided by Hughes Net. There are two bedrooms and two baths on the upper floor, and two bedrooms and one bath on the lower floor. The upper floor has both central heat and a large wood burning fireplace, downstairs has a pellet stove exclusively for heat.
This cabin is very comfortable for two families. Enjoy the huge knotty pine game room with a ping-pong table and full size pool table! Activities in this area are endless. Walk out the door and stroll two minutes to the private lake, playground, baseball and basketball court.
Thank you very much for renting your cabin to us - we had an amazing time!!!! Your location was awesome and the little lake on the property was an endless source of enjoyment for the kids with all of the pollywogs, frogs and rope swing. We took our canoes to Pinecrest a couple of days but it was definitely more crowded & crazy so your lake was a welcome change.
We didn't use the downstairs bedrooms, but I noticed upon arrival that the fish picture next to the kid's bunk beds was on the floor behind the little nightstand. I found the nail that was used to hang the picture but it looked like the nail was not able to support the weight of the frame & glass. Nothing was broken so I left the picture & nail on the nightstand instead of trying to rehang it and risking it falling again.
I will get the keys in the mail to you either today or tomorrow. We had a funny moment last Friday when returned from an outing to your cabin and I recognized a co-worker literally across the street at the log cabin that you see looking out the kitchen window. The cabin belongs to his wife's aunt and we laughed at running into each other in what seems to be a secret spot!
Thanks again and we look forward to visiting again!
We had a fabulous experience staying at this cabin for a family reunion weekend. The cabin is conveniently located across the road from the lake, on a quiet and peaceful street. The view of the lake from the spacious deck is beautiful. The kitchen is well-equipped with cooking and serving supplies. The beds were all very comfortable. The cabin is very well-cared for and maintained. The owner was responsive and easy to communicate with. We were only a 15 minute drive from Pinecrest Lake, and spend a second day walking along the old railroad trail from Lyons Dam to Twain Harre. I highly recommend this home and we hope to stay here again!
Our family of five plus good friends and their young daughter enjoyed two nights at this great cabin. It was very clean, more than big enough to accommodate our party and ideally set up for families with young kids. The view of the private pond/lake from the deck, along with the lush greenery and mountainous backdrop of evergreens, was very special. We made great use of the playground (swings, slides, etc.) and basketball court, as well as the rope swing out over the pond. The kids were delighted with the pollywogs, the family of geese (including five goslings), the red-winged blackbirds living in the pond reeds, and the chorus of birdsong and frog-song in the evening. And when they'd had their fill of nature, the Ping-Pong table was a great hit, along with the big flat-screen TV in the living room. There are also a lot of board games and puzzles available.
The beds were comfortable and amply stocked with pillows and blankets. Unlike some rental cabins, you will need to bring your own linens (sheets, towels, dish rags, etc.) and hand soaps, and there isn't the usual collection of odds, ends and condiments left in the fridge door, so you will want to make sure to plan for those. If you're particular, you may also want to bring a good butcher's knife. However, basic spices and even a few more unusual dry items were stocked, along with ample glasses, dishes, bowls, pots, pans and cooking utensils.
We very much hope we get an opportunity to return to this lovely spot again soon.
This is our second stay here and plan on every year going back. The cabin is very clean and has all you need for cooking family meals together. The view from the deck is just beautiful. We find so much to do there we never leave.
Thanks For Sharing Your Cabin
Our family and friends had a great week at your cabin. The kids loved the game room and spotting frogs at night in the pond. The adults loved meals on the deck, where we watched the sun kiss the pond every morning and listened to a hoot owl herald the rising moon every evening. The kitchen was well-equipped, as many past reviewers have noted, and the gathering spaces were comfortable and inviting.
This vacation rental was beautifully located in a quiet, secure, gated community. The view from the deck of the pond is gorgeous and totally unobstructed. This is the best located cabin in the development. Our grandkids loved the pond, fishing from the pier, and swinging from the rope swing. The cabin was exceptionally well supplied, perfectly furnished, and immaculate.
Our trip was the last weekend of January 2010.
All I can say is "WOW!"
We went with two other couples that had kids (so a total of 5 children). Our main concern was cleanliness and peace....we got so much more!
Their amenities is no exaggeration, we went as far as bringing our own because we weren't sure if they had much at all and BOY were we wrong. This place is fully equipped (all you need to bring is a few extra things that it states in their contract).
Our children loved playing in the snow right out side our rental. We didn't have to travel far for them to enjoy sled rides and building snowman while we barbecued in the patio nearby.
We have already said that this place will be our destination every year. We would love to thank the owners for sharing their home with us.....We can't wait to return!
