From Brooklyn New York and Philadelphia. We moved to the Berkshires in May of 1993. Our son was 4 years old. Changing professions to Landscape/Stonewall Masonry and Opening a Charming Studio Day Spa in Great Barrington. We still love it here, as the seasons change we always say how lucky we are to be living in the most beautiful area of the Northeast.
We are in the Center of the Village of New Marlborough. There is a 1700 Meeting House, The Old Inn on the Green Restaurant and Gedney Farm, which holds many weddings and events. Being a city girl, I wanted to be able to see people and not feel isolated. The house had a little apartment attached to the garage which the realitor said could be an income producing property. I was a makeup artist in New York and had a skin care license and thought maybe someday I would have my own business and my son could come home from school and I could work next door. And that is what I did. I opened the Studio Day Spa in this little town and people came from all over to have skin care and massage services. Since there were so many weddings here in the Berkshires I was available to help the many brides who choose some of the beautiful Farms and Manors to get married. My business Studio Day Spa is now in Great Barrington also a charming turn of the Century home located on Elm Street. The Cottage as we call it, was renovated with a new kitchen and bath. Still is income producing, this time with guest staying who are attending the many weddings or just vacationing in the Berkshires. Hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
Across the road from The Old Inn On the Green, Chef owned. 20 minutes to downtown Great Barrington, Voted Number 1 best little town in the Country by the Smithsonian Magazine. Beautiful country roads to take you to all the places and events without going on a highway. Enjoy your stay with us.
We really enjoy it. Me and my three kids really had a great time. It's furnished, full kitchen with all necessitates for cooking. Clean, beautiful surroundings, owners friendly, quick responses. There is a very nice area to walk nearby. We would come back!
We had such a great time in this lovely cottage. The owners were very helpful and welcoming, the amenities had everything we needed, the location is perfect for getting away but being central to lots of fun day trips. We really enjoyed the fire pit, grill, and our 4-year-old son loved the yard. We're looking for dates now to rebook!
My husband and I have stayed in this wonderful cottage on several occasions. We just rented it for the entire month of June and it was perfect. It is a wonderful space that feels like a home away from home. The location offers quiet but is also close to everything we enjoy doing. Bike rides and walks during the day and amazing dinners in the evening in the surrounding Berkshire towns. There is a country road across the street that offers walks past meadows and protected trails. The cottage is beautifully renovated with a new open kitchen which is stocked well with all the essentials. The Old Inn on the Green and the Southfield Store are in the area and are two of our favorite places. The Monterey Store, another great spot, is a short car ride or bike ride away. My husband and I are drawn to this area of the Berkshires. We love it!

Beautiful landscape and views; quite and peaceful setting. Home with BBQ in the backyard, patio table, and kitchen with utensils, sitting area. Living room and two bedrooms; one full size bed and one bedroom with two twins. One half bath. Owners on site - friendly and accommodating.
Everything about our stay here was excellent. We were warmly greeted by the caretakers and immediately felt like family. The cottage was well appointed and had everything we needed for a great weekend stay. I would highly recommend this location for anyone needing to have 2 bedrooms and a upscale but quaint cottage in the Berkshires. The cost was only a little bit more than the nearby hotels per day but the experience and the value was worth twice as much. .... and it you get a chance to go to the restaurant across the street at the Old Inn on the Green, then do yourself a favor and make a reservation. It was the best meal that I have ever had outside of a major city. We had an outstanding experience all the way around.
This property was perfect for our stay. We were involved in a wedding in a nearby village, and this location was just right for us.
The views from the back of the cottage are stunning, and the cottage itself is EXACTLY what you see in the pictures. It was clean & tidy, and supplied with practically all a person needs to be "at home".
Eugene & Maria were more than gracious- available but not intrusive. The perfect hosts- we will most certainly plan to make a second trip.
The Smithsonian voted Great Barrington Ma. best town in U.S
