For the discriminating couple, we are located in the Palm Villas, a new, gated, 44-unit property, the 'Pearl' of the Mauna Lani Resort. The lush landscaping and small density make it tranquil and relaxing. Our upstairs unit is located away from the beautiful pool area so it is especially quiet. We enjoy a beautiful sunset view and look west over the resort's Hawaiian historic preserve from our private lanai and bbq.

This is a large one-bedroom master suite with a walk-in closet, soaking tub, and separate shower. Professionally decorated, vaulted ceilings, fans, gourmet kitchen, lanai with built-in barbeque, additional full bath, and washer/dryer will make you feel right at home.

The Palm Villas enjoys their own pool area, with hot tub, and a workout room. We are steps away from the famous Mauna Lani Spa, Fitness Center, and Tennis Complex. A short walk will take you to the grounds of the Mauna Lani Bay Hotel and Bungalows.

The other direction takes you to the new Shops at Mauna Lani, which includes Tommy Bahama restaurant and retail store, Ruth Chris Steak House, art galleries, and other great shops. Most important is our new Foodland Gourmet Market with a deli, bakery, fresh meat/fish, fine wines and cheeses.

Golf courses and beautiful beaches are all within minutes. You may also enjoy swimming, snorkeling and sunbathing at our private Beach Club that is open daily for lunch by the sea.

We invite you to enjoy a place that we love and enjoy as our 'second home'. We are 'hands on owners' and take pride in providing our guests with an especially clean and well maintained unit.


Room rates do not include an out cleaning fee of $160 plus 13.25% Hawaii tax.

Minimum stay 6 nights. $350.00 refundable security/damage deposit required.

It's been our third trip to the Big Island and this was one of the most relaxing of the 3, thanks to your very comfortable home. The location is great. We took advantage of the golf course, the spa, the pool & all the delicious nearby restaurants. Canoe House was so scenic and we were regulars at Tommy Bahama's!

Excellent location. Close to beach, pool, dining and shopping. Nicely decorated and furnished. Spacious and clean. Everything in good working order. Feels like home. Nice to have a grill on the lanai. Great sunset views. Easy walk to the beach through the historic park and fish ponds. Indoor parking and secure entry. Would stay there again and recommend to friends.

Very clean, modern and well-equipped condo!

Overall a wonderful experience in a comfortable, modern condo. Loved the large screen tv in living room, and the 2 full bathrooms. Access to the beach club is a big plus, with free use of the cabanas and other facilities. For us, we wished it had an ocean view but that was clearly disclosed so just be prepared for that. The owner is very responsive to texting so always felt she’d respond within minutes if you have a question. Highly recommend.

Great Property but constant AC Problems

The condition and location of this condo are excellent. I would have given it 5 stars but for the fact that the air conditioning in the unit only worked about 20% of the time during the ten days we were there.

When we first arrived at 6:30 pm the condo was 85 degrees. We turned on the AC and after a time found it wasn't working. We contacted the owner the next morning and they had a repairman come out. The repairman was very rude and said the AC was working fine. The temperature in the condo at the time was 76 and the thermostat was set at 72. I noticed the AC compressor was not running and asked the repairman about it. He dismissively told me I would have to talk to the owners about it.

The next day we were out all day and had set the thermostat at 72 with all the doors and windows closed. We returned late that evening and found the temperature in the unit at 86.

Another call to the owner resulted in the owner having their local maintenance person come over and remove the lanai door switch. The AC then turned on but worked for only a short while.

The owner told us we could move and receive credits for the nights not stayed. This was not a good option for us as my wife has a medical condition and finding alternative accommodations on short notice was not feasible.

The owner had their AC repairman come out a second time. This time he acknowledged there were problems with the AC unit and that he would have to order parts.

What would have been a great stay was marred by the lack of AC in the unit. The nights were especially uncomfortable as the ceiling fans in the unit did not bring in the cooler evening air.

We have stayed at many vacation rentals and never had problems like this.

The AC problem should have been promptly corrected the first time.

Owner's Response: The A/C problem was unfortunate but beyond our control. We did everything we could to accommodate this guest. We do have a paragraph in our description regarding the use of the air conditioner which I have now highlighted by putting in all caps. It reads: NOTE: A/C IS COSTLY IN HAWAII, THEREFORE WE SET OUR A/C NOT TO GO BELOW 76 DEGREES AND ASK YOU NOT TO KEEP IT ON WHEN NOT IN THE UNIT. WE ENCOURAGE THE USE OF FRESH AIR AND FANS SO IF YOU DEPEND HEAVILY ON AIR CONDITIONING, THIS MAY NOT BE THE UNIT FOR YOU. HEAVY USE MAY RESULT IN ADDITIONAL FEES. We use our condo a lot and even in summer we find the set temperature very comfortable. We also recommend that you leave open all windows so when you are gone during the day the unit does not get "stuffy". I wish we had known this couple had a health issue before I rented to them as I would have discouraged their booking. If you have any questions, please email or call me. Mahalo!

Very well stocked and beautiful condo. Great location!

Overall the property was fantastic and somewhere we would certainly consider returning for the future. Our trip was cut short by 5 nights for a very tragic family emergency and death and our only disappointment was no offer of a refund or credit of any sort of to use toward a future stay. Even the gesture of one night would have made such a difference, though we understand that it was not within the refund policy so the owners are certainly in the right and were very kind upon our arrival and easy to work with prior to our stay. The condo is one of the best stocked we have stayed in for kitchen and cookware. Despite being on the second story we never once needed the AC as the fans worked great and the screens on the windows and doors were high quality. We definitely would highly recommend this property to any friends or family.
