Saint-Henri Apartment Rental Photos and Description

Apartment, 1 Bedroom + Den, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 2-4)

For a good idea of what you’ll experience, please read our REVIEWS. Our guests keep coming back because we offer great value and a quality experience in a dynamic neighborhood that is quiet, close to downtown and has many of Montreal’s top restaurants.

Gallery 1 is in a meticulously restored century old building close to downtown and minutes from the subway (Metro), the Atwater Market and the historic Lachine Canal. An ideal pied-à-terre for anyone that wants to be in one of the most dynamic villages in Montreal. This 1 bedroom ground floor unit is bright and sleeps 4 to 6. Finished with hardwood floors, it is spotlessly clean & tastefully decorated with original art, high quality furnishings, linens & appointments throughout. This unit is handicapped accessible w 36” doors & only one step. It features a master bedroom with a queen size sleigh bed and the den has a sofa with a double pull out bed. The den can be closed off from the kitchen and dining room. Also in the den there is a flat screen TV and a collection of DVD’s from our library of over 100 movies for all ages. The bathroom has a deep tub that will soothe you after a good day of sightseeing. In addition, there is a utility room with a front loading washer & dryer. The dining room is beside the all equipped kitchen. You also have indoor access to a very large deck with two patio sets and two BBQ’s on the second floor (Gallery 2 shares the deck with you). The deck is next to our beautiful rooftop garden. All our units also come stocked with books and board games. Called the GALLERY 1 because this is 1 of 3 units in the building that is located next to Jane's previous owner private art gallery & studio.

Our other units in the same building are Gallery 3 (#193135) and Gallery 2 ( #213798)

Good food is just steps away at the deluxe IGA grocery store or the delicious Atwater market where you can savor gourmet foods, pastries and deli style food. If you prefer to eat out, we are a few minutes walking from some of Montreal’s top restaurants (Joe Beef, Tuck Shop, H4C, Smoking Vallee, CHO, McKiernans, Magnans Tavern) or if you prefer a drink in a hip setting there is La Drinkerie, Burgundy Lion, Grumman 78, Ludger.

Aside from fine dining, there are many things to do in this area. Depending on the season, you could catch a hockey game at the Bell Center, go rock climbing at Allez-Up indoor rock climbing gym or rent a kayak and paddle on the Lachine Canal. You can also walk or cycle on the Lachine Canal bike path which is just 15 minutes by bike to the Old Port and Old Montreal. Note that you can leave your bikes at home because we have 6 adult bikes for rent for $5 a day or maximum charge of $20 (includes helmets and locks). For small children there is a nice park with playground and splash pad just one block away.

About Etienne Masse

New owner same high quality service! I have good relationships with the previous owners John & Jane who still give me a hand sometimes. I always wanted to own a hotel and this about as close as it gets. I enjoy meeting people from all over the world. I also believe that we offer a great value to travellers. We've made our apartments up as if we were renting them ourselves. We pride ourselves on being good hosts and offering you a great stay. We try to make every aspect of your stay a pleasant experience.

Why Etienne Masse chose Montreal

We love this area, it is vibrant and interesting. The Atwater market is a great place to have a nice coffee and a dessert on weekends and the canal area is a daily source of enjoyment in the summer.

What makes this apartment unique

Proximity to downtown, the Atwater market, Metro (subway) and a lot of really good restaurants.

Wonderful stay in Montreal. The apartment was comfortable and had all you needed for our visit to the city. Location is ideally located near the Metro grocery store, restaurants and Market.

Outstanding property in a fantastic location

  • 5 of 5

Lived up to, and surpassed our expectations of what was advertised on VRBO. Spacious, very clean and modern, comfortable, large bed in a quiet bedroom, nice kitchen for cooking, clean bathroom, and nice living and dining areas to relax, lovely artwork throughout. Very secure 1st-floor apartment with a combo lock entry, a vestibule for bad weather protection and luggage storage, located on a quiet street in a very safe neighborhood, many fantastic restaurants within blocks of the apartment, convenience store 1/2 block away, bus line 2 blocks away, Metro rail and grocery store about a 5-minute walk, and a long scenic bike and walking trail along a picturesque canal (starting about 5 minutes away) that leads to a fantastic market open every day that has about anything/everything food-wise that you might desire. The location was perfect and secure; we didn't even hide our computers etc. Taxi and Uber were almost instantly available. We found the people in the local area and within the city very friendly, kind, and willing to help us -- even if we did not speak French. The friendly and accommodating (previous) owner provided a very personal informative notebook-guide of the local area and of things we might be interested in or find important/necessary. The property was going through a seamless transition of ownership, and we were fortunate to meet both the former and current owners. Simply a perfect VRBO apartment and location to enjoy the wonderful city of Montreal. We never turned on the TV or availed ourselves of the many books and games on hand - we exhausted ourselves with the interesting sites to visit and the world class dining available. The AC worked so well and was much appreciated during the heat wave at the end of July, beginning of August. We would return in a heartbeat and highly recommend it. We were there for about 5 days.

Great Location, furnishings, bed, kitchen and price

  • 5 of 5

We have been staying in vacation rentals here and abroad for 20 years. This was undoubtedly one of the best experiences we have had. If you are a couple and going to Montreal, this will probably be the best you can do unless you rent something for $2 or 3 M a week.. Even then you won't get a more comfortable bed, better management or more access to good restaurants.

Very beautiful and comfortable apartment in the heart of wonderful local culture.

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our visit to Monteral and our stay in this beautiful apartment. The apartment is very comfortable with all your needs...full kitchen, spacious living area, air conditioning (we visited during July), New TV, comfortable bed, and roomy bathroom. It also has a very nice rooftop sitting area with a gas grill if you decide to pickup some local goods from the nearby market. We loved that this apartment was in the heart of local culture, a short walk to the Atwater Market (that has all of your food desires and more), local restaurants, grocery stores, dollar store, and busses/subway were nearby as well. We did not use the public transportation but used über instead...this worked great for us and was not very costly. Our host was Etienne, he was very helpful when ever we had questions and offered some ideas for local food and fun... They also have bikes to rent if you enjoy bike riding on the canal. Would definitely stay again if we ever have chance to visit Monteral again.

Great Location

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our stay at your lovely place. It had everything we needed. The location was ideal walking distance to the market, metro and canal. The apartment was very clean and comfortable. The owners were close by if we needed them, luckily we did not. I would tell my friends about the apartment, very good quality for a reasonable rate. Thanks.
