Overview

About the property

Condo, 2 Bedrooms + Sunroom, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 4-6)

Vacation at South Seas Resort, Lands End, in a designer-decorated 2 bedroom Ocean front Condominium. This vacation home offers the best views on Captiva. The view from the living room, enclosed sun room, dining room, kitchen and balcony is breathtaking--with a sweeping vista of the Gulf of Mexico to Upper Captiva Island and across Pine Island sound. The second bedroom suite overlooks the green golf course lined with palm trees and the Gulf of Mexico twinkles on the horizon.

All of the rooms are decorated in spa colors for maximum

relaxation.

A few minutes walk brings you to a pristine

beach and there are beach chairs for your use. A large pool, hot tub, grills, tennis courts, and golf course are adjacent to the condominium. Excellent shelling and fishing await outside the back door. The resort marina and marina store/deli are a two minute walk from the condo. Captiva Cruises is based at the marina and offers daily sunset cruises, nature cruises, and cruises to Cayo Costa Island state park, Useppa and Cabbage Key islands with their historic resorts.

The condo has a new kitchen with stainless steel appliances, and a washer/dryer are just off the kitchen. The living room and sunroom have new furniture, including a sofa sleeper, comfortable swivel chairs, and small table and chairs for extra eating space, or to use as a game table. The condo has Magnolia wood floors throughout the living areas and bedrooms, with tile baths.

There are three flat screen TVs with DVD players in the condo, cable and free wifi.

The master bedroom has a king size bed, spa tub, double shower, double sinks, skylights, with a spa decor. Its balcony is directly on Redfish Pass and has views of Upper Captiva Island, the Gulf of Mexico and the bay.

The second en suite bedroom has a full bath, twin beds, and a balcony overlooking the golf course and the Gulf of Mexico beyond. Each is comfortably punished with new, high quality mattresses on all beds. There is a portable crib in the unit.

South Seas Resort offers for rent some condos and hotel rooms. Renting through the resort provides inclusive amenities packages with daily user fees. The resort, however, does not own any Lands End units and those few in its leaseback program are outfitted differently than illustrated.

We appeal to people who want to be on the water, watch the dolphins jumping, the lines of pelicans soaring across the pass, and see the sun rise and set over the peaceful waters of the bay and gulf from a spacious, luxurious condo in a safe and quiet location.

The Lands End pool and spa are included. Their setting is in a garden of palm trees and flowering bushes and trees. It is four buildings away and overlooks the golf course and Gulf of Mexico. Gas grills are available for use there, and also one is between our building and the next.

There is also a secluded large spa or hot tub set behind smaller palm trees for use. Lands End village also has its own tennis courts for your enjoyment.

Most of the restaurants on Captiva deliver to the door and we are happy to recommend our favorite restaurants, boat captains and night spots.

Why The Owner chose Florida

We bought the condo within one hour of walking in the door and seeing the breathtaking view of Redfish Pass, with Upper Captiva Island, the gulf and the bay. There is a bank of windows all along the living room, dining room and sun room so we feel like we are on a ship, and love watching the dolphins jumping, the pelicans and egrets fishing, and the boats sailing out to the smaller islands. It is a slice of Paradise, and we never tire of it.

Guestbook comments from the manager

Our family celebrated the new year at this magnificent ocean front condo. We could not have chosen a more beautiful place. The ocean views with the pelicans, dolphins and the islands with palm trees were a visual delight. The condo is new, everything works, the beds are very comfortable, the kitchen has only the best equipment, it was spotless and we used the bikes to go everywhere in the resort. The resort has a wonderful new pool and the children enjoyed the water slide. We enjoyed the evening cruise, and the restaurants for dinner. The kids' club was enjoyed by the kids--and we loved having some time together.

We highly recommend this for any age group, couples, families, a girls' getaway, businesspeople--quiet, serene, and very luxurious.

Comfort and Quiet in a Park-Like Setting

  • 5 of 5

Driving north from Sanibel and onto Captiva until you can't go any further is knowing what it feels like to get away from the rush and roar; the motor vehicles are fewer and fewer, giving way to bicycles, golf carts and pedestrians, until finally you're the last motor vehicle. After we parked in the protected space under the building, we barely needed it again for the duration of our two-week stay. This home is well-equipped, clean and spacious. The design is open with lots of glass and light and offers expansive views over the sound and Red Fish Pass. If you sit on the couch in the living room and look out over the deck railing, which is a lot like a railing on a cruise ship, all you see is water and it feels like being on a cruise ship especially as the 'other' boats pass by.

We fished most days just outside the door, courtesy of the rods and handy hook remover offered by the owners. The sheepshead are plentiful there. While we could see a bit of the Gulf looking left from the deck, we could walk 75 yards to Red Fish Pass for a full view of the Gulf. Walk another couple hundred yards around the tip of the island and you're at the beach. Walk just over two miles straight down the beach and you arrive at Captiva village where there's a small convenience store and very good restaurants. We enjoyed the Mucky Duck (on the beach and a favorite for sunsets), Keylime Bistro (great breakfast and dinner there ... renowned key lime pie) and the Bubble Room (quirky, for sure, and very good). The two-mile walk back up the beach made overindulgence okay. There are other highly rated restaurants ... next time! We also enjoyed a couple of fresh sea trout meals, the bounty from our guided fishing trip on Tarpon Bay (Tarpon Bay Explorers ... terrific guide; they also offer tram or kayak tours of the Darling National Wildlife Refuge on Sanibel with very knowledgeable naturalists.

Plenty to do on Captiva. Resort amenities don't come with this property, but we never felt the need for any of that. Well, maybe we would've played the little 9-hole course once since it's right there. For real golf, the recently renovated Dunes Club was recommended as the best. We didn't bother; endless hours of shelling more rewarding!

The owners of this nice getaway home are thoughtful and well-organized, offering clear instructions on getting to the unit and getting in. They provided multiple means of contact if needed. Highly recommend.

Great place!!

  • 4 of 5

Love the decor, layout, location, and amenities. Master bath was awesome. Only one small issue with the beds. So noisy and uncomfortable that our kids ended up on the couch and we kept waking each other up with the slightest movement. It was a beautiful place though and very comfortable.

Owner's Response: Steve, Thanks for the new information on the beds, which have new mattresses and box springs. We've asked on-site management to try to figure out the cause and repair. We look forward to having you visit again!

What a great vacation -- the condo was beautifully decorated with amazing views right on the water. I would return to this condo again -- so convenient to restaurants, pool, tennis courts and beach. So peaceful and relaxing!

Really Nice Condo in South Seas

  • 5 of 5

This lands ends condo is really good for a small family or girlfriend getaway! Plenty of room for everyone to stretch out and enjoy the view of the gulf which included pelicans, dolphins and boats everyday! Really enjoyed the use of the fishing poles and beach chairs too. We brought our own bikes instead of renting and rode everywhere, including all the way to the Sanibel lighthouse! The kitchen was hardly used but had more than everything you needed for your stay. I only wish they had left some empty cupboard space for our own food. The beds were super comfortable and really nice linens. Bathrooms were really clean and had great towels! The only downside I would say if you were expecting to use the resort amenities including the trolley, ice cream store, restaurants, beach rentals or any of the shops you cannot. They do not sell daily or weekly passes. Its a shame South Seas doesn't even in their off season wouldn't want your money. We live in a resort in South Carolina and they don't turn down any reason to take your money. We enjoyed the pool we were aloud to use but if you have small children they might be disappointed they can't use the resort pool which has slides etc. Doc Fords was the only restaurant you can pay cash or credit card at within South Seas area but honestly that was the only place we didn't like! Stick to Keylime Bistro, Otters, Mucky Duck, Bubble Room and Captiva Cantina that are outside the gates. I wouldn't hesitate telling anyone to rent this well maintained condo!

Owner's Response: So glad to hear that you enjoyed our condo and that you found it to be clean and comfortable. Next time, try the Ships Store for breakfasts, lunches and their great coffee. We don't understand why South Seas requires some shops in the resort to refuse your money, either. It has led to a loss of many. Glad to hear you loved the bike trails! Diane

Lovely week

  • 4 of 5

I want to first off say that we stay in the Lands End Units of Captiva Island at least 5 weeks a season. As always the weather and resort was perfect except for one rain day. The views from the condo are beautiful saw lots of dolphins and were able to sit on the deck to watch the men fish. The owners of the unit I have to say were very attentive and responsive throughout our stay which was very refreshing. 2 bedrooms and 2 baths was perfect for our stay this trip as we brought our son, wife and 6 month old, the bedroom had a pack and play as well as a high chair in the unit so they did not have to bring one with them. Thank you for sharing your home.

Perfect location, great decor and amazing views

  • 5 of 5

We love Captiva and we've stayed at South Seas many times. Lands End is always our favorite. This unit is beautiful. The fabrics, flooring, bedding were such a treat in a rental.

The view is perfect. We would wake up and grab coffee and head to the porch to watch the Dolphins. We will be back.
