Studio was great for 1 or 2 people to stay in. Close to beach and town part of Kailua. Adequate kitchen for cooking small meals. Nice to have washer/dryer to be able to wash clothes. Only bad part was lack of parking sometimes and having to park farther away than I liked. Overall, very nice experience. Would rent again next time we go to Oahu.
This studio was exactly as it was listed on the site. My fiance and I moved to California 4 years ago but went back home to plan our wedding. We could have stayed with family but wanted our own privacy and we got just that. It was super cozy and the owners were awesome. The unit came with all kitchen utensils. The storage in the garage also came loaded with all beach supplies you need. All in all we really really enjoyed this property and would definitely stay there again. The only hassle was looking for parking but we figured it out and made it work.
My husband and I stayed at the studio condo for 10 days. It was very clean and airy with good lighting on the 2nd floor. The Murphy pull down bed was SO comfortable. It was a soft foam mattress. The location was so convenient too, 5-10 minute walk to Target, USPS, Whole Foods, Long's, etc. And a quick drive to Kailua Beach. The stackable washer and dryer in the bathroom allowed us to do a couple of laundry loads throughout the week. We also had access to beach supplies like an inner tube, cooler, and beach chairs & towels. The condo is in sort of a gated community with other complexes, so you share the street parking with other residents. Parking wasn't much of an issue, although it can be harder to find a spot after 5:00 PM. If anything you can drive out of the condo neighborhood and towards the shops and find street parking there. I would definitely come back and I recommend this rental to others. My favorite part of the stay was being so close to the beach and the stores, very walkable. The owners left their contact information for us when we first arrived in case we needed anything. They were very nice. Thank you
We had a wonderful stay! The studio was perfect, and was exactly as advertised. It was spacious and well-designed. The kitchen was large and the bathroom included a sizable washer and dryer. The bed was unbelievably comfortable. We were also impressed with all the storage space the unit had to offer from ample cabinet space in the kitchen to a well-sized closet and deep storage unit beside the bed. In addition, from being used to choppy internet connection at hotels, it was a relief to have not only a stable connection, but a very fast one at that. As an added bonus, the unit came with some beach gear like towels, beach chairs, boogie boards, and cooler. Parking is available on the street, but we had absolutely no problem finding a stall. Stalls fill up at night only, but even when arriving late to the apartment, there was always an opening. There is also guest parking available until 2am. The studio is in a great location and very convenient to points of interest. Its within walking distance to Kailua's shops, restaurants, and the world famous Kailua and Lanikai beaches which made our stay even better than having to get in a car and drive. You really feel connected to Kailua town and all that it has to offer. This little gem of an apartment is highly recommended! We will definitely stay here again. :)
Convenient location. Walking distance to the shops and Kailua Beach Park. Safeway is the closest supermarket, but Whole Foods and Foodland are also nearby.
Comfort. Murphy bed that stows for additional space when needed. Comfy sofa and chair. Full kitchen and bathroom with tub. Bath and beach towels provided. Beach amenities (chairs, boogie board, etc.) provided in the storage locker on the first floor of the building.
Extra details. There were muffins and coffee w/ half & half provided. Salt/pepper and other basic cooking ingredients were also provided, along with hand and dish soap. Pots, pans, dishes, cups, wine glasses, etc. in the cupboards. You'll need to provide your own laundry detergent, however. Grab a small bottle at a 7-11 if your stay is for a week or less. Check Safeway for larger sizes.
Thin walls. It's not that the neighbors are particularly noisy, it's just that the walls are thin and the windows don't provide much sound insulation either. Any time the tenants upstairs move around, you will hear it. Any time someone in the unit next door gargles, you will hear it. Fortunately, they did not stay up late when we were there.
Unstable wifi. The Wifi cut out nearly once a day, and it takes about 10 minutes to reboot the signal. Highly annoying if you depend on wifi hotspots for communication. We had to make emergency trips to the local Starbucks a couple of times.
Cutlery. There aren't enough spoons, and the two provided seem to have been dinged up by the garbage disposal.
Hair dryer. Old and kind of funky.
We would definitely stay here again. Good value for the price. The owners were very friendly and timely with their responses to our queries. With regard to parking, we were always able to find a spot on the street if we parked the car before 4 PM. After people get home from work, however, the spaces fill up quickly. Once the new condos on Kailua Rd. are finished, I expect that parking could be even more difficult to find on Aoloa St. Plan accordingly and enjoy your stay!
Enjoyed a two week stay at the condo. The description and pictures were very accurate. The condo is in walking distance of Kailua town where you can enjoy shopping and dining as well as the farmers market on Thursday evenings in the Longs parking lot, as well as a 15 minute walk to the famous Kailua beach. Also try Mokes Bread and Breakfast for breakfast and lunch. Like poke? Foodland has the freshest and largest selection around.
The condo is a corner unit very clean . The property is also maintained very well.
Kitchen well stocked with items needed to fix meals in.
Thank you for the use of the beach chairs and boogie board
Looking forward to staying here again in the near future
