WE DO NOT ADVERTISE ON CRAIGSLIST. BEWARE OF SCAMMERS
Grew up in the Bay Area and always loved the Monterey Peninsula
Margaret purchased this house in 2004
Love the history of this house (built in 1908) and the location just could not have been better. We love spending time in PG and just parking the car for the weekend. So much to do and so relaxing at the same time.
Close to everything. Long history
Wow, absolutely loved this home. It was the perfect place for us and it had all the amenities and comforts of home you could ask for - proximity to the ocean and downtown, surround sound in every room, fireplaces, beautiful kitchen, hot tub... we can hardly wait to go back! Thank you very much for allowing us to share your lovely home.
We've never stayed in a rented house that was as well stocked with dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and flatware as this little bungalow on a narrow quiet street in Pacific Grove. It's also beautifully designed: great outdoor space with an excellent Weber gas grill, gas fireplace, and hot tub, high-end furniture and appliances inside. Beautiful cabinetry. Morning coffee outside by the fireplace was great. Beds very comfortable. 5-minute walk to Grove Market for supplies. Our best meals were at Passionfish, also a 5-minute walk. Sometimes you have to park around the corner or on the next street over; parking is tight (but, that said, we did get a spot nearly right in front for three of our four days). Two suggestions: put a dresser in the back bedroom, and supply some kind of storage or shelving in the front bathroom for toiletries.
We loved our stay in this small home. It was very clean and beautiful. It was in the perfect location with easy access to all the sites. Margaret was quick to reply to any emails and the local managers met us at the house and was very nice and helpful. I would definitely recommend this house!!
We stayed here for a girls trip and love love love the location. The home was perfect---- beautifully stocked and the outdoor space was great for catching up with the girls. You could walk everywhere to the beach great restaurants and shops. The surroundsound throughout the house was such an added bonus, we will definitely stay here again!!!
The location couldn't be better - we walked to restaurants and the coast. Super sweet historic neighborhood with all homes well maintained. I felt instantly at home in the gorgeously designed, very clean interior with front and back porches and balcony off loft, Compact yet power packed with comfort -
like gas fireplaces and hot tub. I fell in love with the light filled central room and would return in a heartbeat!!! Stayed with 2 friends who each had a bedroom and I slept on the comfortable couch in the loft. Caretaker met us on arrival and was informative, kind and a great resource for restaurants. At the close of the weekend felt replenished, peaceful and grateful for the beautiful space.
This was our second visit to "our little beach house". It feels so much like home, that we wish it really was ours. We celebrated our grand daughter's graduation from CSU at Monterey Bay. We love being within walking distance of the beach as well as the fabulous restaurants on Lighthouse. Very relaxing and cozy weekend. We hope to do it again.
Pacific Grove is home of the Monterey Bay Aquarium, and main entrance to 17 Mile Drive. Within the city are spectacular vistas and recreational opportunities. Surfing is ideal at Asilomar State Beach. Kayaking and scuba diving allows you to visit with playful otters. Tide pooling for the nature enthusiast is available at several beaches. A walk or bike ride along the shoreline recreation trail offers breathtaking views of paradise.
Visit the Museum of Natural History, Point Pinos Lighthouse, tour Asilomar State Park, or enjoy the Sunset anywhere between Lovers Point Park and Asilomar Beach. Pacific Grove is known as Butterfly Town U.S.A. since every October the Monarchs migrate to the Monarch Butterfly Sanctuary where they winter until February. Pacific Grove Municipal Golf Course is the top rated municipal golf in the state with over 70,000 rounds played annually. It is referred to as poor man's Pebble Beach due to its proximity and resemblance of Pebble Beach courses.
Enjoy a walking tour of downtown Pacific Grove. The town had its beginning in 1875 as a summer Methodist camp where several hundreds assembled to worship amidst rough tents. Tour brochures are available at the Chamber. http://www.pacificgrove.org/
