Was very helpful and easy to work with, can't wait for the time to come to visit this beautiful property, thanks again !D.G.
We rented this home for our wedding party to stay in as well as the bride/groom. We had 8 guests. It was the PERFECT place to relax and get ready in. Our venue was only 15 minutes down the road. We loved the property so much that we took some of our photos here as well. The owners are super friendly and reliable and go the extra mile. They let me check in early so I could set up goodie bags for my bridal party and accommodated this busy bride's schedule. I'd highly recommend staying more than a short weekend here though! It just didnt make sense for us because we live somewhat in the area but it was excellent for our out-of-town guests for a weekend wedding. The wine and flags are an added bonus that made us smile. 5 STARS!
It was a wet, rainy weekend but this location was perfect for our leadership retreat weekend.
Be sure to contact the owners for specifics on pricing! It is described on their facility website as well. The price listed on homeaway is only accurate if you have 2 people staying.
The horses on the farm are a beautiful and peaceful addition to this country setting.
We traveled from Edinburgh in Scotland for our Easter holidays. The house is situated in quiet wonderful surroundings while only few minutes drive from shops and restaurants.
Great location - quite central - to visit Gettysburg Washington DC and Baltimore.
However we found ourselves spending more time around the farm than we originally planned.
My son fell in love with the horses and even had couple of lessons.
Jim and Sue were very hospitable and friendly and I would strongly recommend you buy your eggs from them :)
The house was very clean and well equipped with anything you would need! A homely environment, a great place for families with rabbits and deer spotted daily!
This is a comfortable 4 BR home on an Arabian horse farm in the country. The home is fully equipped with everything you could possibly need for a relaxing time in the country. Nicer touches include a bottle of local wine waiting for you when you check in. The owners are great hosts and enjoy meeting guests and making them feel at home.
You don't need a horse to stay here - they have plenty of them already - but if you do have one, there is a place for him or her as well right out your front door., You will also see chickens, deer, groundhogs, all manner of birds and other wildlife if you care to look for it.
There is a quaint small town less than 5 miles from the farm and has plenty of shopping and restaurants if you want to get out and enjoy the local ambiance. We vey much enjoyed our stay here and recommend it to anyone visiting the area.
Our family of 8 (parents in 60s, 2 young-adult couples, grandkids ages 2 & 4) spent 5 wonderful nights and 4 days at this lovely home on a scenic horse farm. The location was perfect for us, being halfway between our daughter’s home in southwestern West Virginia and ours in Patterson, New York. The 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms were beautiful and comfortable, with many nice touches (nightlights, books). We especially enjoyed using the kitchen, sitting at the patio table on the back porch (where we enjoyed a pair of indigo buntings every day, a long visit by a great blue heron, and daily incursions by a pair of woodchucks), playing games on the kitchen table, and reading in the living room. The flat-screen TV was used only for a short time on one day! Every other day we went on day trips – to Washington, D.C., and to a beach near Annapolis. We also shopped and ate in the local town of Mt. Airy and the city of Frederick. Sue was very helpful whenever we had a question. We thoroughly loved the experience, and hope to return!
Frederick County is in the heart of American History. Visit Civil War Battlefields or the many museums in Frederick, Gettysburg, Baltimore, Harpers Ferry, Ellicott City and Washington DC!! Hike the C&O Canal, eat at any one of the fine restaurants in the area, take the children to one of the zoos in Thurmont, Baltimore or Washington DC or take them to Adventure World USA 15 min. away or a 6 Flags theme park. Go antique or outlet shopping nearby, take a tubing or water rafting outing, ice skate indoors (Frederick), or take a horseback riding lesson on the farm. There's something for everyone!
