Guestbook comments from the owner

We rented both 323 a d 327 units for one week. They are just North of Durango and provided the privacy we like to have. We had 19 family members, from Mom and Dad, down to one great grandson, who together stayed in the two units (and there was room for more people). Everyone was very impressed with the quality of the units, the quality of the memorablia, decopauges, pictures, and accoutrements that adorned both units. We found everything we needed (bedding, towels, paper products, dishes, pots and pans, etc and even some food was left).

We spent considerable time at the picnic table watching the D&SNGR train and enjoying the fresh air. On several mornings, deer joined us behind the building, eating and just passing through. We made trips to Durango, visited the Cheese Shop and the Honey Making shop, both right next door.

We shopped in Durango and bought the usual souveniers, had a couple of meals and "checked out" a couple of the micro breweries. Several brought their bikes and enjoyed biking. One day a grandson caught a rainbow trout in a nearby lake. Another, some of them went bouldering.

One morning, two went to Silverton for a downhill bike exercise and were very impressed. One day, all took a ride on the narrow guage railroad to Silverton and had lunch at the Handlebars Restaurant, a must visit place. Several made the trip to Pagosa for a visit to the hot springs.

We even attended one of the swap meets and naturally brought home a few items.

All in all, these were the best facilities we have had in the ten years we have been making these trips with our family. We always have a great time together, coming from Arkansas, California and different parts of Arizona. We all highly recommend Condos East and West for those visiting Durango.

Great New Years Family Vacation Rental Experience

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in this wonderful home for the recent New Year holiday and had a great time. There was plenty of room for our entire party which totaled 11 adults plus a toddler. We were very pleased with the location of the condo. We were never more than 10-15 minutes away from all our activities.

I was also impressed with the ease of the entire transaction. The managers of the property were very professional and thorough with their information.

We are looking forward to a return visit.

Aways Amazing!!!!

  • 5 of 5

Our 6th consecutive year and it was a wonderful trip. I've taken so many different family members to The Pines and this year the was 8 of us. We love staying at Linda and Jack's home away from home. Only 15 mins to Durango but with a natural grocery only 5 mins away. It is right next to honey ville, you don't want to miss this little gem, with its unique items and a distillery. A ranch of grass fed beef and home grown goodness is also right next door. Bar B Q is only 10 mins away with a pizza for the kids so you can bring your dinner up to the picnic table behind the Condo and watch the train go by. This year we went river rafting, took the train, toured The Hundred Year Mine, visited the 4 Corners Monument and Mesa Verde, went fishing and sightseeing, and took the 4x4 tour up to 13,000 feet. We wore the family out. Thank you so much for sharing such a wonderful place to stay and play.

Beautiful location, plenty of room, just too hot in some of the rooms

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed staying in a place that was surrounded by such beauty. The train was so much fun to see every day. The condo was nice but was not fully air conditioned like we thought it was. Only the upper room (the 3rd floor) had an air conditioning unit. The other bedrooms were warm and the second bedroom on the 2nd floor was not even useable due to the heat. That's the only reason I couldn't give it five stars. We did like the large eating area and played games at the large table. There was plenty of seating too. Overall, a nice weekend get away condo, just not during the heat of July.

Priced right, good location, managed well

  • 5 of 5

Centrally located, well ventilated (no central a/c, but not needed), good kitchen for family size cooking, good hiking behind condo. Management allowed us to check-in early with just a phone call. No pushiness to get us out on check-out day. Owner contacted me with suggestions for family activities well ahead of time. I would stay again.

Durango Fun-dango

  • 5 of 5

Family of 4--easily holds 10: This home is perfect for your stay in the Durango area. It's just past Honeyville and James Ranch-- 2 must-visit places! Jay and Linda are the thoughtful owners of this clean, well-appointed townhome in a quiet area a little north of Durango. It's about 10-15 minutes drive to the historic area of town. We enjoyed not staying in the thick of things and having a place in which to retreat. Everything you need and more is provided for your home-away-from-home stay. We loved seeing the Durango/Silverton train come by each day and the unimaginable, closeness of the stars at night. We enjoyed hiking, all the breweries, shopping, Pagosa Springs, and Silverton. Too many food places to mention, the Balcony Bar & Grill, Grassburgers, & Fired Up Pizzeria were our favorite places to eat. We even enjoyed a Bluegrass fundraiser event for the Durango Nature Studies programs. Everyone we came across was so friendly and Durango is such a dog-friendly town--great for our little pooch! Thank you for sharing your home with us; it was perfect!! Definitely recommended!
