Guestbook comments from the owner

We rented both 323 a d 327 units for one week. They are just North of Durango and provided the privacy we like to have. We had 19 family members, from Mom and Dad, down to one great grandson, who together stayed in the two units (and there was room for more people). Everyone was very impressed with the quality of the units, the quality of the memorablia, decopauges, pictures, and accoutrements that adorned both units. We found everything we needed (bedding, towels, paper products, dishes, pots and pans, etc and even some food was left).

We spent considerable time at the picnic table watching the D&SNGR train and enjoying the fresh air. On several mornings, deer joined us behind the building, eating and just passing through. We made trips to Durango, visited the Cheese Shop and the Honey Making shop, both right next door.

We shopped in Durango and bought the usual souveniers, had a couple of meals and "checked out" a couple of the micro breweries. Several brought their bikes and enjoyed biking. One day a grandson caught a rainbow trout in a nearby lake. Another, some of them went bouldering.

One morning, two went to Silverton for a downhill bike exercise and were very impressed. One day, all took a ride on the narrow guage railroad to Silverton and had lunch at the Handlebars Restaurant, a must visit place. Several made the trip to Pagosa for a visit to the hot springs.

We even attended one of the swap meets and naturally brought home a few items.

All in all, these were the best facilities we have had in the ten years we have been making these trips with our family. We always have a great time together, coming from Arkansas, California and different parts of Arizona. We all highly recommend Condos East and West for those visiting Durango.

Great stay.

  • 5 of 5

There were 5 of us that came to go skiing at Purgatory. The location of the home is about halfway between there and Durango and worked out great for our logistics. Easy and quick to get both places.

The home had everything we needed. It was clean and obviously well maintained. The beds were comfortable. We would stay here again.

We had a nice stay. Most everything we needed was right at our fingertips.

  • 4 of 5

We loved the Christmas decorations and appreciate the treats Linda left for us. She provided lots of info about the area and checked on us after arrival. There was plenty of room for our two families. Beds and living area were clean, comfortable, and cozy. Wifi was a bit spotty and would routinely knock us off. Might recommend a stronger signal. All in all we enjoyed our stay and recommend it for future guests.

Owner's Response: Hi Jana, Glad you enjoyed your stay. We checked the WiFi signal. The modem had been moved back in the cabinet. Sorry for the spotty service. Wish you had sent us a follow-up e-mail. Come back to see us. Linda

Great condo and great location

  • 5 of 5

This is a great condo and great location near Durango. Had everything you need and was very clean. the owners, Linda and Jack were amazing, friendly, and great to work with. The narrow gauge train goes right by the condo, literally right outside the back door. really cool to walk 30 feet and wave to the people coming by on the train. Would definitely stay here again!

Plenty of room for extended family

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 2 parents, 2 grandparents, and 5 kids shared this lovely home north of Durango in late June. There was lots of eating space, which was nice as my brother and his family joined us for some meals. The home is beautifully decorated and very clean; my kids enjoyed hanging out on the big sectional sofa and playing games at the table. A highlight was watching the trains go by twice a day! The kitchen was very well equipped, and we made use of the crockpot one night. Only the upper level is equipped with a window A/C unit, but the rest of the home cooled down nicely at night and stayed cool for most of the day. Internet was a little spotty for multiple users. Jack and Linda were very easy to get ahold of and work with! Perfect hosts. The home does have a lot of steps, which was an issue for my dad with Parkinson's, but overall we did very well there and enjoyed our time immensly. Thanks again, Jack and Linda!

Great summer trip to Durango

  • 5 of 5

Thank you Linda & Jack for providing a nice place to stay while we were in Durango . The Pines provided everything we needed for our trip. It was so nice of Linda and Jack to call and give us some helpful hints on things to do and see on our trip. It was a great personal touch! The Pines was fully stocked with everything we could need -

The train was fun to watch from the back picnic table! My son and father in law rode it so we enjoyed watching them and others pass by.

Thanks again !
