About the property

Cottage, 4 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 3 Baths, (Sleeps 10-12)

Welcome to Lakecrest Manor on beautiful Keuka Lake in the heart of New York's Finger Lakes Wine Country, just four miles south of the village of Penn Yan and only a short walk from the campus of Keuka College. Lakecrest Manor consists of the 'Manor House' and the 'Bungalow' and is perched on the crest of 190 feet of private 'walk-in' lake frontage with shale beach. Lakecrest Manor is perfect for small family reunions.

The Manor House sleeps eight and has three bedrooms (4 twin beds, 1 king, and 1 double bed), two full bathrooms (one with tub/shower, and one with shower), and a fully equipped kitchen. The living room has a wood-burning fireplace, HDTV with digital cable service and DVD player, and AM/FM/CD/iPod stereo system. A large, attached deck with two picnic tables is right on the water's edge.

The recently remodeled (2007) Bungalow sleeps up to four, and is right next door. It has a loft/bedroom (queen-size bed), full bathroom, and an eat-in kitchen. The living room has HDTV with digital cable service and DVD/VCR players, and a futon that folds out to a full size bed. There is a private deck with picnic table and deck chairs off the kitchen. The loft also includes a sitting/reading/nursery area, and a separate TV in the sleeping area.

The property also features a ~50' dock, a swimming raft, 2 charcoal barbecue grills, a fire ring on the beach, 2 canoes, 4 kayaks, and a row boat.

Please go to our private web site (www.lakecrestmanor.com) to see more information, pictures, and links to area attractions.

Keuka Lake, with its unusual Y-shape, is 20 miles long, up to 2 miles wide, and boasts 60 miles of shoreline. With an elevation of 715 feet above sea level, it is almost 200 feet deep at it's deepest point. It has a scenic bluff rising over 700 feet above lake level between the two branches of the Y. Lakecrest Manor is located on the west side of the east branch of the Y on East Bluff Road, approximately 4 miles south of the village of Penn Yan.

Keuka Lake is known for its natural beauty. It is one of the cleanest of the Finger Lakes, and is an excellent sport fishing lake, featuring wild lake trout, bass, and perch. In the Summer, the lake warms to the upper 70s and low 80s, making it perfect for swimming, tubing, waterskiing, or just floating peacefully in the water.

The Finger Lakes Wine Country is second only to California for the number of award winning wineries, with well over 50 wineries around Keuka, Seneca, and Cayuga Lakes. The hillsides surrounding Keuka Lake are dotted with numerous vineyards, and dozens of wineries are within a 30 mile radius of Lakecrest Manor. There are now several microbreweries within a short distance, and the Crooked Tusker micro-distillery has recently opened above the southwest end of the lake.

For the shopper, the Finger Lakes region abounds with antiques, local arts and crafts, and Mennonite/Amish handcrafted furniture. The Windmill Flea Market just south of Penn Yan brings dozens of local vendors together every Saturday from late Spring until late Fall. Don't forget to visit the Waterloo Premium Outlet mall with over 100 premium outlet stores just a short drive away, and for the outdoorsmen, not far from Waterloo is the Finger Lakes Bass Pro Shop in Auburn. For a little excitement, try Finger Lakes Thouroughbred Racing and Gaming, just a few miles north of Canandaigua. Interested in the complete culinary experience? Check out the New York Wine and Culinary Center, also in Canandaigua.

Great summer vacation on the lake

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time staying at Lakecrest Manor for the week. It was very nice to stay on the lake. It was nice that our family could meet up and stay there. All of the kids are teenagers and they enjoyed swimming, kayaking, fishing off of the dock, the floating dock, and the fire pit. We enjoyed grilling 4 nights while we were there. It was nice to have 2 kitchens which were nicely equipped for our needs. It was also nice to have 3 bathrooms/showers and the washer and dryer.

When we all were in for the night, it was nice to play cards at the big kitchen table in the Manor house. This happened every night!

Penn Yan was a nice town and easy to go to for anything we needed. We also enjoyed visiting a brewery and a wine vineyard. We also enjoyed the fact that we could rent a boat for the week and keep it at the house. It was nice to sit outside at the beach area and relax and enjoy the sunshine and nice weather.

The 4th of July was awesome with the fireworks everywhere on the lake and the red flares along the lake on both sides.

Thank you for letting us stay at your lakehouse and the bungalow. All of us had a great time being there and spending time together.

The perfect little cottage getaway!

  • 5 of 5

This property was the perfect venue for our "girls weekend" reunion of old college pals. The cottage is right on the lake and offers plenty of areas for relaxation. The fire pit right on the lake shore is fantastic ! There are plenty of items available in the kitchen to cover all your cooking needs. Bring your personal items and you are all set. We are planning a return trip!

Lakecrest Manor

  • 5 of 5

We had a perfect week at Lakecrest Manor with family and friends. The children went swimming in the lake every day while the adults enjoyed kayaking. All agreed that it was the most relaxing and tranquil vacation ever! The owners were wonderful to work with and provided easy communication both before and after our stay. The property was well stocked, well maintained and suitable for such a large group. We loved being right on the water and looked forward to our visit from "big bird" each day. We will definitely be back!

Lakecrest Manor

Lakecrest Manor was a wonderful , well kept jewel of the finger lakes. The cottages are well maintained, everything worked well. The beach is large enough for any lakeside purpose, the decks and patios were large enough and provided nice views of the lake. We will rent again.

College Reunion at Lakecrest Manor

  • 5 of 5

Perfect week long stay at Lakecrest Manor. 6 College Friends spent the week at this beautiful lake cottage leading up to our 35th College reunion. We enjoyed the extremely well stocked, large, clean accommodations this perfect lakefront cottage offers. The owners were extremely easy to work with and the cottage far exceeded our expectations. We spent the week touring wineries and enjoying Keuka college activities (an easy walk to the campus). We Loved Lakecrest Manor and sincerely appreciate the many memories we made there. We will definitely be back for future visits to the Finger Lakes-and of course future college reunions! Thank you for sharing this perfect cottage with us! Signed: 6 College Friends-Class of 1980.

Finger Lakes Wine Tasting Trip 2013

  • 5 of 5

Every year our group of 10 travel to the Finger Lakes for 3 days of wine tasting and relaxation. This year we decided to rent a house rather than stay at an hotel, and we couldn't have made a better choice. Lakecrest Manor offered everything and more. The owners were very easy to deal with and the property was exactly as it was portrayed it to be. Being so close to the water was fantastic, and watching the moon shine over the lake while sitting by the outdoor fire each evening was breathtaking. Coffee and breakfast on the outdoor deck watching the sun rise is spectacular. I highly recommend Lakecrest and all it has to offer. We will definitely return for our next weekend stay.
