About Mark Mintich

We are a beach loving family and hope to retire here someday. We live in Charlotte, NC and come down as often as possible. Building family memories of time spent together at Wild Dunes is a high priority because we know that family time is precious.

Mark Mintich purchased this condo in 1996

Why Mark Mintich chose Summer Dunes Lane

The Wild Dunes community appealed to us because of the residential (non-commercial) feel. Being a gated community reduces the volume of traffic experienced in other traditional beach vacation areas. The beaches are not crowded and the grounds are beautiful. I feel safer as my children engage in activities that are not always in my sight.

What makes this condo unique

There are only 24 condominiums in the Tidewater complex. This means that there are fewer people in our pool and on our grounds. The bottom units (like ours) have a private stair to the pool and beach. This is great because you don't have to walk around the building to get inside and children can go between the pool and porch while you watch. It has a traditional beach cottage feel.

We absolutely loved our stay and would definitely stay at this property again. Thank you so much for making our stay in Isle of Palm great! The condo was perfectly located and we enjoyed coffee in the screened in porch every morning. We would recommend this condo to friends!!

Great location, very old interior

  • 2 of 5

The location of this condo is amazing. You are literally on the beach! The kitchen has been recently remodeled, which is great, but the rest of the place is really old. The bathrooms are just awful, old, moldy, peeling and faded wallpaper. The ceilings are also in need of repair. There are several spots in the ceiling throughout the condo with water damage and flaking off drywall. The sleeper sofa is also very old and there is no way an adult could sleep on it, I felt bad that my teenage son had too. I'm sorry to have to say all this, the owners were great to work with and the pool and beach were great. But don't stay there until the bathrooms and ceilings have been fixed.

Owner's Response: I am sorry your experience was not what you had hoped for. There was an apparent water leak in the unit above which caused an area of damage to the ceiling in the bathroom. That has since been repaired. We have additional cushions that can be used on the pull out sofa. Had we known of your concerns we certainly would made sure you knew where they were. We have owned our unit for over 20 years, raised our children there, enjoyed it in good times and bad. Our desire is for all of our guests to love it as much as we do.

Perfect location!

  • 5 of 5

Perfect size and location! This was our first trip to IOP and we cannot wait to come back! The set up and location was perfect for our family (especially our three little ones!). Perfect screened porch and distance to pool and beach- easy to come back for bathroom trips and snacks! Surrounding grounds were well maintained and nice as well- the beach Chair and Umbrella service that comes with the rental was amazing to have- no lugging them back and forth! Thanks so much- we will be back!

Great location!

  • 5 of 5

My family (husband and I and our twin *almost 3 years old* toddlers) spent 3 nights here. We love Wild Dunes in general, and have usually stayed in a friend's beach house there in the past - this was our first time renting a place on IOP. The location is really incredible. It is only about 30 feet from the back screened-in porch to the pool entrance (perfect walk with toddlers who frequently declare their need for a bathroom, on very short notice). The path to the beach is right behind the pool - also incredibly close and easily accessible with small children. We loved that the owner arranged for 2 beach chairs and an umbrella each day, since it saved us having to pack beach chairs and a pop-up tent.

The condo itself was pretty nice. The kitchen appeared recently renovated, and came stocked with everything we needed (plates/utensils/pots/pans/cookie sheet/knives/cutting boards/etc.). My husband used the coffee pot each day, and we used the toaster as well. The furniture in the living area was comfortable. We spent a lot of time on the screened porch, but never could figure out how to turn the light on out there in the evenings! The master bedroom was comfortable as well. The second bedroom had two twin beds, each with a trundle mattress underneath, which was a pleasant surprise (We had brought blow-up toddler mattresses for the kids, but the trundle mattresses worked perfectly instead!). The bathrooms could use a little updating, but were fully functional.

My only recommendation to make it "perfect" for families with small children would be some basic additional child proofing. It would be great to have had a slide-lock of some sort at the top of the front door, to prevent small children from being able to get out (there is a French handle doorknob, so the round child-proof knobs we had brought didn't work for that door), and basic cabinet locks under the kitchen sink, since there were chemicals and cleaners stored there. These things didn't affect our rating of the condo, however, since they would only be of concern to those with small children, and I only mention them here to give a fair warning to others so that they'll know what types of child-proofing items to pack. There were a few outlet covers throughout the condo, so we were able to combine those with the ones we had brought from home, to fully cover the obvious outlets.

Overall, a great stay! Owner was very accessible and responsive to questions. We'll be back!!

The condo was beautiful. Very updated and clean.

  • 5 of 5

The views from this condo were very beautiful. Just like the pictures. You can see the pool and ocean from screen porch.Just a few steps from pool and ocean. Loved it!!!! We will refer this place to everyone.Lots of things to do right around the corner. The only thing is we have not received our deposit back and its been almost three weeks, but it may just take a while. We left the condo clean. Other than that we had a blast! We will be staying there again.Thank you Karen Glisson

Perfect spot for our long weekend get-away!!!

  • 5 of 5

I can't say enough good things about this rental unit. The location was perfect - steps to the pool and the beach. We were able to easily drive to Charleston, Mount Pleasant, the airport, church on Sunday in Sullivan't Island, food options - such as restaurants and grocery stores, etc., etc., etc. The community was clean and safe, and everyone we met was extremely helpful! The unit itself has two good sized bedrooms and bathrooms, and there is plenty of living space, including a screened in back porch. The kitchen has everything we could have ever possibly needed, and the owner, Mark, was very easy to work with as we prepared for our stay. Needless to say, we did not want to leave. Looking forward to a return visit - hopefully sometime in the near future!
