Also you can walk the road or take the 100 steps down to the waterfront. The walk down the steps to the waterfront is surrounded by beautiful gardens on both sides, please see the pictures.
Because the cove is “no wake” you can swim, kayak, paddle board and canoe without being disturbed by jet skies and motor boats, a rarity on the lake. We are only a 500' to the entrance to the main channel so you have go far before you can produce a wake. The cove is surrounded by a 2000 acre wildlife mountainous nature preserve so your views are of deep woods, silhouetted by Smith Mountain and its surrounding mountains. Smith Mountain Lake has 22,000 acres of clean water and has 500 miles of shoreline.
There is a mile long drive to reach our Lodge that is just magical. It is deeply wooded with an abundance of hardwoods on both sides, not a home in sight. Once you have made this turn on our lane, you will be delighted with the serine, natural beauty that surrounds our home.

We also planted lots of herbs on the deck for our clients use, a wonderful feature that all my clients have enjoyed. Everybody waters the plants on the deck, sorta of pass on the beauty for the next folks arrival.
Our no wake 60 acres cove is famous for its abundance and variety of fish. It is where the strippers spawn every year and fisherman catch bass, muskies and cat fish right off our docks. You will see an exciting array of wild life including eagles, owls, ospreys, humming birds, wild turkey and of course deer but we also have several albino deer which are spectacular to see if you are lucky.

A magnificent time was had by all… what a great party house, speakers both in and out of the house, open floor plan with lots of sitting areas and the view… what a view, just beautiful. The deck is spectacular and the big old oak tree provides lots of shade. The bathrooms are awesome and loved the kitchen, great selection in cabinets and granite counter tops. If you don’t love this place, maybe you should only vacation at the Ritz.
We swam every day across the lake and back. Did lots of tubing once we were out of the cove, took the kids to some of the Islands where we and roasted hot dogs and marshmallows. We even went peach picking at a farm outside of Bedford. Lots to do for the family. The house is perfect for a Romantic weekend as well. Comfortable furniture throughout, and most importantly, they have very comfortable beds. The house was spotless and the landscaping is very nice, especially gardens leading to the lake.
Thanks so much for such a nice review. So glad you all enjoyed the lake and our home. Hope you come back soon.
Amazing and beautiful ... Perfectly appointed home
Tranquil & pristine lake ... Water was so clean and warm .. even the fish were jumping with joy!! Lovely home .. Great entertainment system/tv. Hot tub was fabulous. The kitchen is loaded with everything imaginable to cook anything ! I loved the fresh herbs growing just outside :) The deck is beautiful as well as the dock at the water's edge. Kayak's were great for exploring nearby coves. Alicia (the owner) is absolutely delightful ! This home is truly unique ... We can't wait to come back next year!
Extraordinary Mountain Views, Pristine Lake, Amazing Vacation Home!
I wanted the "On Golden Pond" experience for our family where we could enjoy the quiet beauty of a beautiful lake and surrounding nature. This Lodge is the essence of this. We swam, kayaked, canoed, and paddle boarded during the day from our private deck. You are at a no wake zone and Smith Mountain Lake is pristine where fish swim at your feet.
This home is like staying at a thoughtful relative's house. No detail has been overlooked to make you feel at home at the Lodge. Views, views, and more views from every angle of the property. The home is very well equipped for everything from preparing dinners to simply relaxing. We enjoyed our dinners each night on the massive multiple decks followed by star gazing from the six person hot tub. There is surround sound system in the hot tub and the tub commands views of the mountain, lake, and the night sky. All of our family had a fun and relaxing vacation!

Absolutely gorgeous home and property
This is a spectacular home. The pictures do not do the house or the property justice. The fishing is awesome right off your own private dock. Alicia was wonderful to deal with. We will definitely be back.
Fabulous Home and Vacation
Wow what a fabulous house and location. Probably one of the nicest houses our family has ever rented. Very immaculate inside. I first noticed the number of oriental carpets that we're all over the house ( I love oriental carpets). And very nice ones I might add. Furniture was so comfortable and nice. The two rocking chairs placed by the window that views the lake were our favorites.
Master bedroom "custom shower" was a treat. All my kids wanted to use our bathroom. Three shower heads and plenty of space. The Deck outside: Without question the nicest deck I've seen in a rental property. We spent a lot of time on the deck. Hot tub was unreal with lights and outdoor stereo. You can also tell the owners were into plants as they were a beautiful compliment to the whole surroundings. Plants were very well maintained which really added to the eloquent look a feel to this home.
The dock was very nice and adaquate to have both a large pontoon and jet ski with furniture as well. We also used the kayak and standup water board which was a big hit.
The house was furnished with more amenities than any we have ever rented. Stocked full of cooking utensils and plenty of cooking spices which was nice. The TV in the family room was very nice with direct TV satellite service ( very nice ).
The only wish I could mention would be to add TV's in all the rooms with DVDs players in case people wanted to watch different shows.
In summary I would highly recommend this fabulous place to anyone wanting an upscale home. We thoroughly enjoyed this place and would rent again. The owner was a jewel to work with and you can tell she cares about her clients and properties. I imagine she has lots of returning clients...👍👍👍. Mike and Toni A.
Our experience with this property was nothing short of outstanding. The accommodations are spacious, well equipped, well maintained, clean, and very homey. The lodge has a great view of the lake and the deck and hot tub is one of the most beautiful on the lake. The hot tub was a major hit with my whole family. We took advantage of the paddleboard rental and my kids had a lot of fun with that. The owner provides excellent customer service, and is a great communicator. We dined at Heath's a couple of evenings which is probably the closest restaurant to the lodge - and it was superb - a little tricky to find, but the food, service, and view were superb. I would highly recommend this house to friends or relatives - in fact, we have already recommended it to another family who has a daughter graduating from Liberty next year.
Enjoy our world-class historic sites, shopping opportunities from the latest fashions to antique and art galleries, golf courses, fine dining and wineries. Nightlife is full of wonderful bands at local restaurants where you can dance till the “midnight hour”. Vacationers come from all over to fish where striper, largemouth and small mouth bass, crappies and bluegills abound. There are marinas where you can rent jet skies, motor and pontoon boats. The Smith Mountain Lake State park offers a beach, hiking trails, kayak rentals and daily planned activities for children. There are also a multitude of fun day trips from visiting the D-Day memorial in the quaint and charming town of Bedford to the Blue Ridge Institute and Museum which has a gallery of exhibits, crafts, music and decorative arts displaying Blue Ridge folklore. The Booker T. Washington National Monument as well as the Smith Mountain Lake dam all makes for a fun trip or just take a ride on the beautiful Blue Ridge Parkway.
