Comfy log cabin near the Sawooth Mountains

  • 4 of 5

We stayed at Abe's Chair cabin for 3 nights and enjoyed it a lot. Very private but not remote or isolated. The creek the runs right in front of the lot was soothing in the night. The cabin is close to many outdoor attractions and we went horseback riding and rafting on the Salmon river. Liese and John provided everything we needed for our stay and the cabin was well appointed and clean. It all made for a great short excursion.

Quite and comfortable

My wife and I stayed rented the cabin for several days during the summer and enjoyed our experience. It was clean and quiet with a nice porch overlooking a creek. We enjoyed our stay and would rent this cabin again!

Base camp with all the comforts

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed at Abe's Chair Cabin for 3 nights in August 2015. The rental process was super easy. The cabin was immaculate and stocked with everything we needed. Loved having a washer & dryer - and detergent! Thanks. We really enjoyed coffee on the porch with the sunrise. The location is perfect for playing in the beautiful Sawtooth Mts; both activities out of Stanley and Ketchum. The Sawtooths are really beautiful and lived up to what we heard: "The Tetons without the tourists". The store and restaurant (with live music), around the corner, was an added bonus. So glad we found Abe's Chair Cabin. It got our Idaho & Montana vacation off to a grand start. Thanks!

Like home in the Sawtooths

  • 5 of 5

Well, it's taken awhile to write a review but I'm finally getting around to it. Spent a week and a half here last August (2014) and had a wonderful time. The Sawtooths are special and it felt like it was our home, which really was the idea. Not my first time in the Sawtooths (it was Claudie's though), but the first time in such comfort. It was great to explore all the little back roads and tributaries of the Salmon, fishing a bit every day. Got a couple hikes in, driving, fishing, and spent a couple days just relaxing around the cabin and reading. Fantastic!

Wonderful stay in comfy cabin in the woods. Hiking and mt biking nearby. Also streams and lakes for fishermen. Wonderful Smiley Creek lodge and restaurant is a short walk or drive for a truly fine breakfast or more. Teens and parents loved the relaxing atmosphere of this unpretentious place in one of the most spectacular locations in the world!!
