Are you looking for a comfortable, high-quality, well-equipped house? Do you want to be in a safe, private wooded setting but still be close to town? Do you want to relax & enjoy one of the best long-range views in western North Carolina? The area has a lot to offer, but you won't want to leave the house.
Comfortable, spacious, two-story home in a private mountain community just 10 miles/13 min. from all of Asheville's charm & attractions. All the photos you see are from inside the house, or from the deck outside. Yes, that is the view from the house. Easily accessible year round, but still secluded. The elevation of the house is 3,450 feet and affords one of the area's most spectacular long range, year round views.
Enjoy the view from the 1,000 square foot, multi-level, wraparound deck, the hot tub, or from inside the home. Set on three quiet, wooded acres of mountain laurel, rhododendron, oak-leaf hydrangea, blackberries & many other native species.
This Asheville mountain house rental is quiet, private, deep in the woods and close to town.

We stayed at the Mountain House March 8-12 and had a most wonderful time! I brought my daughter and friends. The most beautiful aspect of this house is the gorgeous view. We were lucky to have every season those 4 days. David has thought about everything and we enjoyed all aspects of the house, from the porch, fireplace, hot tubs and just the views. It is in the very small details that sets this house apart - robes in the closets, enough towels, washer/dryer, the art, well stocked kitchen, puzzles and games, plenty of firewood and kindling - loved it and can't wait to return again! Now the drive down the road in snow can be a bit of a challenge but manageable.
Stayed there with my family (5 adults) over Thanksgiving week. My kids are avid rock climbers and the climbing in the area is top notch. The house is near the Blue Ridge Parkway, so there is access to scenic drives and some great hiking trails. The house is large, clean, and well provisioned for a full crew of 6. Thanksgiving dinner was not an issue as the kitchen is well stocked with pots, pans, full stove, and dish ware for 6 or more. Quality appliances including microwave, dishwasher, coffee maker, toaster oven, and full refrigerator with ice maker. Washer and drier is nice to have for the week. Loved the decorations in the house. You can tell that the owner(s) love this place. Spacious 3 bedrooms. Great heating. Large kitchen table for playing Yahtzee and laughing.... The family room is big enough for all with DVD, Cable, and WiFi for all the relaxing downtime. The deck is huge with chairs for relaxing and reading during the day, and a great hot tub for staring at the stars at night. The house (actually it's a home) is almost at the top of the mountain and ther are maybe 4 neighbors within the stretch of a city block. You can't see or hear anyone. Very private. Very quiet at night. For being a mountain hideaway, its very near shopping, dining, and downtown Asheville. All in all a very pleasant place to relax and have fun for the week with family or friends..... (p.s. there is an indoor fireplace, but because of the wildfires at the time, I didn't want to start a fire. So I can't review it, but it looks great and well used..)
We loved sitting on the back deck, sipping wine, unwinding, and watching the gorgeous view. In the woods, quiet, on top of the mountain. House was clean and had everything we wanted. Would stay there again.
What a beautiful place in the mountains !! The place had everything you could want ! With a plus for the hot tub !
And the views were just beautiful .
And working with David was so easy ! Since we booked this at the last minute vacation he made sure everything worked out just fine !!
And some day we would love to come back !

This was the perfect home for a mountain getaway for two couples. Close enough to easily experience all Asheville has to offer, but secluded enough to feel like you're away from it all. Home was well maintained and had all the amenities needed to feel at home.
We have travelled the country and Chestnut Forest was our favorite. You truly have a beautiful location and your generosity with amenities was quite appreciated. I have never experience such detail in providing everything imaginable in making this a great vacation. It was so nice that it was hard to leave from sunset to sunrise.
What a great way to experience Asheville! We would recommend your lovely "Mountain Chalet" in a heartbeat.
