Here’s a little “talk story” about our condo in the Maui Vista. We hope it will give you an accurate picture of our Maui home and help you make the best decision for your vacation.

We recently had guests who split their Maui vacation between our condo and another in the Maui Vista complex. When our guests returned home, they wrote us to say that, even though the other unit had just been remodeled and everything was brand new, they wished that they had been able to spend their entire vacation in our unit. He wrote “There is something magical about your condo. We loved it! We were comfortable and relaxed and had everything we needed and then some. We will be back!”

That seems to sum it up pretty well.

This condo is a magical place. It has good vibes, I think because it seems to draw exceptionally wonderful guests who leave the imprint of their happy memories and love of the islands for everyone who follows.

We do take very good care of the condo and keep it updated. In June 2015, we bought a new sofa sleeper - it's a commercial frame and does not have that uncomfortable bar in the middle - and had the dining chairs upholstered to match. We also installed a fan in the living room. A year before, in June 2014, we removed the popcorn ceiling - it looks so nice! We replaced the interior doors with raised six-panel ones and new hardware. We replaced the bedroom dresser and night stands (now we have night chests - more drawers for storage, helpful for guests who stay longer), and we bought a new living room air conditioner.

In addition to the June 2015 and 2014 upgrades, in 2013 we added new tile flooring; a new vanity, vanity top, faucet, and towel bars; solid thermal pane windows that replaced the drafty louvered ones (and help keep the unit very quiet); and a new mattress, springs and bed (headboard and frame); and in 2012, replaced the carpet. We personally “visit” at least three times a year to restock and replace items that need replacing, clean the carpets and every little corner in the unit, touch up the paint, and organize cupboards and linens to our standards. (Some people think we are on vacation! Not so!)

As you can tell from the reviews, you will have every supply that we can think of; but I still need to tell you that the pillows are really good – and there are two down ones for those like me who use down pillows. You will also find an exceptionally clean condo; our managers send a re-inspector before each guest arrives to be certain that the housekeepers have done their usual outstanding job.

People do ask us why we keep our rates so reasonable. It's because we very much want you to have a wonderful vacation that doesn’t break your personal bank. We used to live on the mainland and struggled every vacation to find a balance between the money we spent and the value we received on our Maui vacations. We found that we were able to have a wonderful vacation and manage our resources if we prepared many of our own meals (we brought many of our own supplies and kitchen gadgets and consequently learned to supply this condo with those items) and stayed at condos where we didn’t have to pay $15 or $20 a night for parking. We became hooked on condo vacationing, especially in wonderful Kihei.

Other information you might want to know: We are located on the second floor of building one, unit 1225. It’s an end unit and consequently is a little larger than most one bedroom units and has air conditioners in the living room and the bedroom. We have both a hide-a-bed and a queen Aerobed, the two layer kind with a headboard. We also have an infant play n pack and a portable bed for a small child.We have electronic locks, the combination of which is changed for each new guest. We don’t charge you a fee if you pay by credit card and we don’t charge a cleaning fee if you stay four nights or longer. We also don’t require that you purchase damage insurance because we have never had guests who have damaged the unit. The Maui Vista does not have a resort fee or a check in fee. We do have professional managers, Maui Condo and Home, 800-822-4409, available 24/7 to handle issues that you might have. (Hawaii law requires that we have an on-island representative and we live on the Big Island) Maui Condo also handles financial transactions (that don't go through VRBO) for us. They do charge a $40 booking fee to our guests.

Of course you have access to the pools, barbecues, and the tennis courts at the Maui Vista, and are just steps from Charlie Young Beach, one of the best beaches on the island. Just grab the beach chairs, the umbrella, beach towels and cooler and, in fewer than five minutes, you're on the beach!

About Stafford or Nancy Lombard

Aloha!

We're Hawaii residents - we live in Keaau, Big Island, just south of Hilo Town. We moved here from the Seattle area (go Mariners!) almost ten years ago. Stafford is retired, or as retired as one can be when managing an acre of yard, fruit trees, and pineapples in Hawaii. Nancy also retired in July of 2016. It's her fourth time. Maybe this one will work.

We love Maui, it's our favorite vacation spot. We bought this condo to enjoy ourselves and to share with friends, ohana, and you.

I just wanted you to know how much David & I enjoyed our stay at your condo in Kihei. You forgot absolutely nothing which made our stay carefree. We especially enjoyed the chairs and umbrella for the beach since we are no longer tanning bunnies. The location was great and when we didn't feel like driving, it was so nice to just walk across the street to the beach. We will certainly recommend your place to others and I'm so happy Dawn made the recommendation to us. I'm not sure we'll return to Kihei next time as I think I have David convinced to try Kauii next time. He had only been to Honolulu (4 times) before venturing to Maui this time!

Nice place to stay

Hosts were great and checked in on us a few times to make sure our trip was going well. The pools at the condos are small and don't have a hot tub so we only went to them once. The condo had just about everything we needed except snorkel gear so we rented that for cheap atBB's snorkel.

Owner's Response: Be of healthy reasons we do not provide snorkel gear, for out guests. As for a hot tub if it was available it would have been stated in the discription of the property.

Best condo in Kihei!

We thoroughly enjoyed our week at this condo in Kihei! It truly is an ideal location walking distance to local shops and right across the street from a beautiful beach. Snorkeling was really great at Charlie Young Beach across the street. We saw so many turtles we had to swim out of their way! They weren't kidding when they said the condo is well stocked. It had really anything we could need for the beach, coolers, tote bags, chairs, umbrella, boogie boards, noodles, blue ice. Plus the kitchen is well stocked for cooking. Thanks for a wonderful week, we weren't ready to leave!

Maui Home Away From Home!

This was out third stay at Maui Vista and our first at the Lombard’s condo. What a wonderful home away from home! The unit is roomy and very comfortable, the furniture is perfect for the vacation/beach setting, the kitchen and bathroom are well stocked, and we found everything we could want for going to the beach, the pool, or for drives around Maui. By far, this was a great value for our vacation! We enjoy staying in Kehei and Maui Vista for the easy access to Charley Young Beach, all the places to shop and eat within walking distance, and the central location for getting to everything else Maui has to offer. We appreciated the emails from Nancy and Stafford before we arrived and the phone calls on our first and last day to check that all was well with our stay. We’re hoping to stay here again before too long!!

Loved it!!

we arrived late and it was dark but the unit was easy to locate, perfect location to stay. walking distance to nice beach, wonderful mom & pop stores and good reasonably priced restaurants nearby. Very comfortable condo with everything to make our stay so nice. Owners were so helpful and went above and beyond with helpful advice such as rental cars, local restaurants, and even airline suggestions. We will definitely stay here again!! Only about 20 mins max away from airport

Great place!!

Everything you could possibly want and need was supplied. The condo was just across the street to our favorite beach, Charley Young. All the necessary beach gear, chairs, bags, coolers, towels were in abundance! South Kihei has the best little shops and fantastic restaurants and bars, all within walking distance. We will be back! Thanks again!!

All the cozy comforts of home.

From the time we walked in we couldn't believe our luck. The condo was amazing, so neat and clean. It had everything we could possibly need

during our stay. The Lombard's have thought of everything by putting themselves in the place of their guests. It was quiet at night, the beach was

half a block away and we found a Safeway Grocery Store nearby, to purchase our food for the week. The Lombard's recommended a Pizza Place that had 5 star pizza. Walking along the nearby beach was so tranquil. We would definitely recommend the Lombard's condo. They even

called us the first day to see if everything was okay and the last day to wish us a safe trip home. If we have a chance to go back to Maui, we will definitely call them.
