This is about the best ski-in/ski-out property there is in Whistler because you can access both mountains easily. Walk or ski less than a block to the convergence of the Whistler and Blackcomb gondolas in Mountain Square or walk a block along Blackcomb Way to the Daylodge at the base of the Wizard Express Chair. Wave to the slowpokes in your family or group as you pass over the kitchen skylight in Blackcomb’s Excalibur Gondola.
If it’s cross-country or snowshoeing you’re after, the free shuttle bus is practically at your doorstep, waiting to whisk you over to the miles of extensive trails around Lost Lake, some of which are lit up at night. Of course, the traditional night time activities of dining and dancing are beckoning from just across Fitzsimmons Creek, just far enough to provide you with a breath of fresh air on your way back home before hitting the sack for the next day’s First Tracks Breakfast, but not too far to carry home your shopping souvenirs.
In summer, the town is yours. Walk, hike, bike, or rollerblade virtually anywhere in the Valley from your central location in the heart of it all. You certainly won’t need a car when you book this fabulous accommodation with free high speed wireless internet connection from Whistler Resort Homes.
Stayed at this property for five nights with five couples. The house has lots of space and enough bathrooms for everyone 4.5. The kitchen is well equipped with some extras like a blender and lots of dishes for company. There is parking for three cars which worked out well. Peter was very helpful and prompt to answer all questions. Only downside was that the ski-in ski-out is not easy. Requires climbing a steep 20-25 foot embankment. Would be very difficult in icy conditions. Five minute walk to whistler village!
We have stayed in this unit a couple of times and are pretty much planning just to try and stay here every trip up to Whistler. We have 3 children and travel with other couples with children. This unit provides an ample common space for the kids to relax/play and enough bedrooms for everyone to be able to have some private space. Perhaps most importantly, there are 5 toilets and 4 showers available! Kitchen is your typical condo kitchen with plenty of basic kitchen ammenities, updated appliances, coffee filters (!) and more. We comfortably sat 5 children and 5 adults for dinner on multiple nights.
In the end, the convenience cannot be beat. Its about a 30 yard walk across the parking lot to a ski run under the Blackcomb Gondola. Strap on your skis/board and you are in the base of Whistler Village in a total of 5 minutes. Truly ski-in/ski-out. Plus, if you prefer to walk or just want to stroll the village, its literally the first development past the village bus depot. Less than a 1/4 mile walk and you are in the village for dinner/shopping/etc.
The property manager is on top of everything, too. Email communication and confirmations are prompt and helpful. We had a couple of very minor issues upon arrival (9:30pm) and he offered to come over right away to fix things (we told him they could easily wait until the next day). Lots of information on deals/specials for your activities.
I am hesitant to leave this review for letting out the secret...but they do such a great job with the unit that they deserve the acknowledgement.
This was our second year staying in this location and hope to have many more. The condo housed our group of eight people with ease and having 4.5 bathrooms was the icing on the cake. The appliances are all modern and very clean. The entire condo was very clean for that matter! The living room and dining area easily accommodated the eight of us and the single car garage had ample room for us to store our equipment. Can't wait for next year!
