Deer Ridge is located in the great northwoods of Wisconsin. This area provides YEAR-ROUND activities for the entire family. Deer Ridge has been completely renovated and sits on the shore of Big St Germain. It is nestled among 100 year old pines. The shoreline is sandy, shallow and excellent for swimming.
Big St Germain Lake is a 1600 acre Class 'A' Musky lake. It also offers many other species of fish (panfish, small and large mouth bass, northern pike, crappie and others). A new 14' jon fishing boat is included.
Deer Ridge is only minutes away from a variety of the Northwood's best hiking and biking trails, including the new paved St Germain Bike Trail with its gentle terrain. Awassa Nature Preserve Trail and Fern Ridge Hiking Trail are close by. Golf, horseback riding, shopping, dining, and much more are available year-round.
St Germain's winter wonderland offers ice fishing, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing on the nearby trails and snowmobiling. The scenic Bo-Boen snowmobile trail is adjacent to the cabin.
Deer Ridge has a total knotty pine interior, wood fireplace and sleeps up to 5 people. The kitchen is fully equipped (don't forget to bring your own food!). Enjoy nature at its finest - the deer really do walk right past the cabin!

My wife and I spent long comfortable mornings and evenings in the cabin the entire week of our stay. We always had a log in the fireplace. Since we were restricted to the use of firelogs we found the duraflame "crackleflame" the most enjoyable. The cabin was very clean and everything was in excellent working order, including the TV which was essential for watching our favorite team play basketball in the NCAA tournament. We did catch some games in St. Germain's pubs and availed ourselves of good beer, food, and socializing with the locals. We were the only one's at the compound during out stay and had a quiet and relaxing getaway from our busy worklives.
Lovely cabin great for a couple's winter get away. Pretty wood throughout, clean, comfortable and well appointed. It's in a large group of cabins so it's not secluded but there are many nice trails for hiking, skiing or snowmobiling nearby to help you enjoy the north woods.
We stayed at the Deer Ridge cabin for a snowmobiling trip. The cabin, the trails, our food at various bars and restaurants were all excellent!
The cabin is located conveniently between Minocqua and Eagle River and was very easy to find with the directions provided. St Germain is less than a mile away and has everything you might need for your stay. Tom was easy to work with and responded quickly to all of my e-mails.
We stayed at Deer Ridge Cabin during the first week in October 2016 and arrived to find the cabin to be the perfect example of what a north woods cabin should be. It had all modern conveniences yet had a rustic north woods feel about it that was very warm and inviting. The interior and exterior of the cabin and grounds have been nicely maintained and the interior of the cabin was simply spotless. My compliments to the cleaning crew!
During our days we drove around the area looking at the fall colors and returned in the evening to relax and watch the local deer herd who stopped by several times a day/night to see if there happened to be more apples laying around. We also did a little fishing off of the pier which was fun. We look forward to visiting again!
We spent six nights at this cabin. It is a great place to stay. It is on lake frontage with a fire pit near the lake. The cabin is neat, clean and inviting. The fireplace is wonderful with electronic candles and minature lights on the mantle making for a relaxing, romantic atmosphere. Deer are plentiful in the area and fun to watch. Although they are apprehensive of humans, they come very close and are not easily startled. There are many restaurants and places of interest in St. Germain, Saynor, Boulder Junction, Eagle River, Minocqua and Wodruff are all within 15 miles and have places of interest.
WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE and hope to return in the future.
We stayed for a week in September 2016, after Labor Day, so things had quieted down as far as the number of people around. It was extremely peaceful and relaxing. Deer coming up to us in the evening (looking for handouts), sitting on the boat dock overlooking the lake, listening to the breeze in the trees....I feel my BP falling just thinking about it. The bike trail system is wonderful. The best lake for blue gill fishing was Carrol Lake; we were pulling them in hand over fist. The cabin was neat & clean, perfectly stocked, good WIFI, satellite TV. Really could not have asked for more! Thank you, Tom!
