About Charlie Roame

I was born in the state of Tennessee but moved away many years ago. When my vacation time came around I decided to go back to my home state. I chose to rent a log home and immediately fell in love with the beauty & craftmanship of the logs. I found that they offered a sense of peace and tranquility which I've never known. I can't think of anything more peacefull then sitting by the fireplace and reading a book.

Charlie Roame purchased this chalet in 2005

Why Charlie Roame chose Tennessee

The location of the home is in close proximity to the Great Smoky Mountains and offers awesome views.

Great Cabin with Beautiful View!

  • 4 of 5

Loved everything about this cabin except the steep driveway and no yard. This cabin is also designed more for adults and teenagers and not for small children. It's 3 stories with 2 different staircases and the staircases aren't designed for baby gates very well. The view was beautiful, couldn't have asked for better. It is out of the way up on the mountain, which is great because of the beautiful view and you do feel secluded, but it does take awhile to get to the Pigeon Forge area. I would definitely consider staying here again in the future!

Nice relaxing stay.

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed the cabin and the ammeneties. We had plenty of room. Location was a little further out than some would like. I thought it was perfect. Wears Valley is charming and serene. Thank you for allowing us to experience it.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your comments. If your looking to book a home that offers the best of two worlds, i.e. peace and quiet and yet just a short drive into the city of Pigeon Forge, then is the cabin for you.

Beautiful home.

  • 5 of 5

A beautiful home with great views of the surrounding mountains. The home was equipped with everything from bed linen, towels, & cooking utensils and it's only a 15 minute drive through the mountains into Pigeon Forge. The home owner was so nice and readilly available to answer any questions that I had.

The pictures do not do the place justice.

  • 4 of 5

Overall, our stay was fantastic. I joined my brother's family there for a five night trip. I wanted to get away from everyday life and enjoy the mountains. This house is literally on a mountainside. Yet it is a 10-20 minute drive to anything you would need, like groceries and some of the more touristy areas. Every evening the kids watched movies and the adults sat out gazing at the mountain range and catching up on our busy lives.

The main reason I would give this a 4 star rather than a 5 is when we arrived a couple things were missing that were advertised as amenities. I believe it was hand soap and maybe some toiletries. I would have to check specifically, but nothing that caused much more than a minor inconvenience.

The other aspect I would reconsider for future stays is both families that stayed have young children and the outdoor space was limited. We were then unable to shove the kiddos outside and run around, because you are literally on the side of a mountain. There were trails nearby that were easy to access but the kids needed direct supervision when outside b/c of some of the steep drop offs. But this has nothing bad to say about the place itself, because the visuals that come with staying here are nothing short of breathtaking.

Welcoming Retreat!!

  • 5 of 5

Very welcoming and inviting cabin with plenty of room for everyone!! The cabin was clean, well stocked kitchen with plenty of pots and pans, and lots of entertainment for everyone. Movies, games, pool table, hot tub, books and just about anything to make your stay pleasurable. So happy to be able to take our dogs with us. Plenty of room for the kennels without getting in the way of anything. Beautiful scenery and managed to see the fall colors before it was to late. Thanks for allowing us to enjoy your cabin!!

Very Nice Vacation Home

  • 4 of 5

Home was very nice and very clean. Location is off the beaten path but not too far. Wears Valley area is much more quiet than Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg (and less traffic). Driveway is very steep but did not have any problems with a front wheel drive mid size car. Even with prior warning we still had bears in the trash cans twice. If you have mobility issues - keep in mind you enter this home on the lower level and must climb stairs to reach the main floor. View was nice but I hoped for a little better. Owner was very pleasant, quick, and easy to work with. Would like to see more pictures on the web site. Overall very nice home, well decorated, clean, and well cared for.

Chalet is centrally located between Pigeon Forge & Gatlinburg. Surrounded by majestic mountains in Wears Valley, the home is nestled high among the canopy. It's just a short drive of twenty minutes into either of the cities. The area offers a wide selection of things to do for the individual or family. Dollywood, aquarium, theaters, horse shows, white water rafting, horse back riding, and outlet malls are just a few of the fun things to do when visiting the area. After a long day and your just plain tired, why not jump into the hot tub and enjoy the view of Bluff Mountain.
