About Charlie Roame
I was born in the state of Tennessee but moved away many years ago. When my vacation time came around I decided to go back to my home state. I chose to rent a log home and immediately fell in love with the beauty & craftmanship of the logs. I found that they offered a sense of peace and tranquility which I've never known. I can't think of anything more peacefull then sitting by the fireplace and reading a book.
Charlie Roame purchased this Chalet in 2005

We loved it!
We love your cabin!!! So cozy! We sure will come back! I hate to see that you are trying to sell your home! Take care!
It was a pleasure having you as guests of "Stairway to Heaven" Please check in the future for availability.
Cozy, spacious mountainside villa
We stayed here on a recent girls trip and had a wonderful time. The home is spacious yet cozy and well equipped. Lovely porches to sit out on to enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Beds were very comfortable. Secluded setting, yet not too far from restaurants, shopping, and the beautiful Great Smoky Mountain National Park. The owner was very responsive to any questions and concerns we had. Be aware that it is a little challenging to find and there is a steep driveway- definitely follow the owner’s directions instead of your Google Maps app which got us lost. But once you’re there, you’ll be glad you chose this lovely place to stay! Highly recommend.
It was a true pleasure having you as guests and I look forward to your return.
Quite slice of Heaven
We loved our stay! We had 4 adults and 3 kids. The property was perfect for two families! We only needed to bring food! Everything else was already in place. We had a few questions when staying, but Lucky and Charlie were quick to respond! The ability to go to the community pool was a big perk! The only thing I noticed was the hot tub at the house needs more chlorine (or whatever is used), it had a mildew smell to it. Thanks for sharing this wonderful property with our families!
Thank you. I'm glad that you enjoyed your stay at "Stairway to Heaven" I've asked Lucky to check the chemicals in the hot tub.
Stairway to Heaven
We had a great time at the house. The view was great and the house was very clean. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and will probably be back next year. The only issue I had was that the owner graduated from The University of Michigan. Go Bucks!!!!
Glad that you enjoyed yourself. Look forward to having you back next year.
WEEK IN THE MOUNTAINS
The house was great, a little off the beaten path but nice. Everything we needed was there for us, all we needed was food. In spite of rain everyday we had a great time.
Roomy, bright and clean interior
There was plenty of room for my family of 9 to enjoy in this home in early April. There was a wonderful view from the mountain. We ran into a problem with the oven the 1st night. When we reached the owner via email, he always responded quickly but the issue, beyond his control, could not be rectified during our stay. We used the new gas grill instead. The kitchen was well equipped. The hot tub was a bit disappointing the 1st 24hrs. I think a detailed set of user instructions, if made available to us, would have solved the issue. A fire pit would be nice but concern over fire and really, no location on the hillside are two barriers. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and appreciate Charlie for sharing his home.
Thank you so much for your comments. I'm truly sorry about the stove not working. The stove needed a part that wasn't readily available and had to be order. The stove part will be in this coming Tuesday. I think that it's a great ideal about having hot tub instructions available.
Chalet is centrally located between Pigeon Forge & Gatlinburg. Surrounded by majestic mountains in Wears Valley, the home is nestled high among the canopy. After a long day and your just plain tired, why not jump into the hot tub and enjoy the view of Bluff Mountain. Other Activities: Miniature Golf,Basketball Court
