|Minimum Stay||3 - 7 nights|
New in 2008, this 6000 square foot estate home is sited on three acres in the Colorado Rocky Mountain foothills, and has a 360 degree view from its many panorama windows. Raspberry Mountain, Mount Herman, and Elephant Rock are among the sights. Deer and foxes meander through the property's fields
and woods. The neighborhood is very quiet, and all the neighbors have custom houses on at least 2.5 acres.
The huge upstairs master suite has a gas fireplace, his and her sinks, walk in closet, and a two person jetted corner window tub. A recumbent bike is placed in the bedrooms turret, so one can overlook the eastern vistas while exercising. A second master is on the main level. There are two other spacious upstairs bedrooms.
Downstairs, oak floors cover the living room, formal dining, family room, eating area, and kitchen. The spacious family room, open to the kitchen and bay window breakfast area, has a raised stone wood burning fireplace. The living room features a vaulted ceiling with wooden beams and great mountain views out the huge windows. The formal dining room seats eight. The gourmet kitchen has slab granite counter tops and an island with all new stainless steel appliances, including two stoves. Most of the furniture is also new. It has a three car garage, large deck with a gas grill, and unfinished walkout basement.
Restaurants, grocery stores and shops are five minutes away, and the Air Force Academy is a 10 minute drive. Pike National Forest and Monument Preserve are within walking distance; both have many hiking, biking, and horse trails.
As our reviews demonstrate, there are many 'must-do' activities nearby, including visiting the U.S. Air Force Academy and Garden of the Gods (both free), and returning to the house after your day's activities should be very relaxing. As the past reviews say this a wonderful property and David and Marie are equally wonderful to work with. The home amenities are top notch, the views are amazing, the deck is awesome to relax on in the evening and our children enjoyed watching the deer at night. A great place to head home to after a full day in Colorado Springs (Garden of the Gods, Seven Falls, Helen Hunt Falls, Pikes Peak and the list goes on). Highly recommend for an active family who enjoys a quiet time after an action packed day. Thank you David and Marie for sharing your home. We will definitely return for another amazing stay.
We rented this fabulous home for my daughter's graduation from the US Air Force Academy. It made our week in the area simply amazing. The kitchen and great room area were what sold me when I first looked at the photos, but in person, it was even better. A perfect place to be with family and friends. It's clean, comfy, homey, well-equipped, quietly luxurious, great views from nearly every window, quiet, safe, close to everything, and in a gorgeous neighborhood to walk or jog. But best of all? Wonderful and responsive owners. You can not do better than rent this home.
This home and the owners, David and Marie, have offered the best in our vacation home experiences. From the moment I received a call from the owner and chatted for quite some time, I had a great feeling.
When we arrived, the home was perfect - clean, well-stocked and very inviting. First time I didn't have to clean dishes before use! We felt at home and wished to stay longer.
We look forward to a return to our favorite vacation home.
Sincer thanks to David and Marie!
My family and I just stayed at this house. The couple that own the home couldn't have been nicer. The house was clean beautiful and so comfortable. There was a bottle of wine from the owners welcoming us. I can't say enough!!!! Great people great house great location.!!!!!!!!
We rented this home for a 5 day time period with our family. The home is spacious, clean and well stocked with pillows, blankets, food staples, etc. The home is in a neighborhood but the lots are very spacious which gives you a lot of privacy. There is a large deck that is a wonderful spot for morning coffee or dinner in the evening. Gorgeous view of the mountains and the sunsets. We had a buck wander about in the back yard several mornings. It is close to hiking, biking, Colorado Springs and Denver is not that far away. The owners are very kind and easy to work with, wanting everything to be perfect for their guests. We will definitely rent this home again if we are lucky enough to be back in the area. If you are going to be in the area - RENT this home. You will NOT be disappointed.
We didn't want to leave "our" Colorado home! Such a peaceful setting in the foothills, yet close to I-25 and all that the Springs has to offer. Very close to north entrance to AFA (tip: attend worship on Sunday morning to hear pipe organ). We were in town for a family wedding, but also managed to see quite a few must-see sights. Some of the kids hiked up very close-by Mt Herman and loved it. Although there's so much in Colorado Springs you'll want to do, don't miss the ice cream shop in Palmer Lake or the very nice little shops in downtown Monument. There's a Safeway grocery on the way to the house, but you may want to peek in the kitchen before buying your groceries. It was unbelievably well stocked!! The home was so roomy and lovingly decorated. We felt very pampered! Nothing is overlooked to make guests feel comfortable in this 'home away from home'. Trust us, you will not soon forget your morning coffee time on the deck...
