Our property is located at the end of a peninsula with beautiful tidal views of Battery Creek which is fed off Port Royal Sound coming from the Atlantic Ocean. What our guests love most, besides our southern hospitality, is the location...they feel like they are out away from everything on our scenic point of land yet they are within minutes of Parris Island Marine Corp Depot, Historic Downtown Beaufort,& so much more.
They also enjoy staying in our 1970's two story home that sits back from the road and has plenty of privacy for large family gatherings. As you walk up to the house there is a gold-fish pond, garden and on the porch is a Hot Springs hot tub that will fit up to four people. The Carolina Room (sunroom) is on the waterfront side of the house.
The master king room and a queen guest room is located upstairs with a restroom and shower. There is a full bath and queen guest room downstairs.
There are hardwood floors throughout the house. There is a wood burning fireplace in the living room that have two comfortable leather couches that are great for sleeping.
The sunroom also has a sleeper couch. The study is setup with a desk for your laptop and has a very comfortable futon for sleeping or sitting. The kitchen is fully stocked and there are plenty of linens.
If you need other types of accommodations and/or catering, please let us know. Our family who has enjoyed this property for four generations will be available to assist in any reasonable way so that your stay is comfortable and enjoyable. We hope you select our home to be your home while you visit 'Beautiful Beaufort by the Sea'.
PS...If requested, we would be glad to provide you with referrals from the other families who have rented our home.
My husband and I want to invite you to stay in our family home while you visit Beautiful Beaufort by the Sea. My late father (a Master Gunnery Sgt)purchased this home after he retired from the Marine Corp in 1977. It sits at the end of a penisula of land along a major tidal creek off the Port Royal Sound near Parris Island. It is located within 5 to 10 miles of everything Historic Beaufort has to offer. Please take time to read the comments written by other guests in our log book. Many have commented that the house (and location) is better than they thought it is was going to be....we hope you select our home to be your home and add to all the love and laughter this home holds within its walls.
Brenda or Chuck Stauffer purchased this house in 1990
Now, that our children have families of their own....We decided to open our home to other families visiting Beaufort and Parris Island.
The home is close to the city limits yet it sits back from the road to give you plenty of privacy for large family gatherings inside and out.

I had the best time ever...not a detail was left out. We had a large group and plenty of sleeping space, blankets pillows, towels...etc. , not to mention the hot tub on the front porch, pool and we even went kayaking when the tide was high...family time with my new Marine around the firepit and roasting marshmallows at midnight!!!..I didn't want it to end..Chuck and Brenda are wonderful , and even gifted my son with a marine flag!!!...so close to the base and town , we always had something to do...Thanks for opening your home to us!!!...xoxoxo
We really enjoyed our stay..The owners have great southern hospitality....They made this trip for my son's Marine bootcamp graduation so much easier and enjoyable...They provided invaluable information before we even arrived so we had everything planned out before we got there...So thank you son much for a wonderful experience..I would definitely recommend this place....Happy travels.... M.L.
We had our sons graduation and had the best of luck finding this home! The owner was helpful, kind and informative. The house was clean, spacious and comfortable. Well supplied with everything you could possibly need. Centrally located but you feel like you are secluded. Close to everything...shopping, dining and Parris Island. The grounds are beautiful! Great for taking pictures or just relaxing. Quiet and picturesque. But if you listen you can hear gun fire in the distance at Parris Island while having your early morning coffee. If you are looking for a place to stay, look no further! Truly a home away from home!
We could not say ENOUGH about this wonderful place & its owners! It was a home away from our home & had everything you could possibly need! Trying to find a place big enough for 12 people to stay at & be comfortable was hard, until I spoke to Chuck on the phone. He spoke with such hospitality & offered all the Marine Graduation info we would need! When he told me to call him for anything, even if we didn't rent from him....well I knew right then this was the place to stay! We couldn't have been more happier with Chuck & Brenda's place! Thank you for making one of the most memorable times of our Marine lives the BEST EVER! OOHRAH!
Our stay at Chuck & Brenda's home was perfect in every way from the 1st phone call thru our son's Marine Graduation! Chuck was awesome to work with and had a lot of helpful information for us. Their home was very nice/cozy and had everything you could possibly need! Very well cared for. We had 12 family members staying and there was more than enough room for all of us from eating to sleeping. Their home is close to everything so our road travel was minimal, which was great on those early mornings we needed to be at PI for our sons Graduation events. Grocery/shopping/restaurants were all very close as well. We enjoyed our stay in their home and would stay again! We arrived a week before Graduation to explore the area and they allowed us to return after graduation so our son could change before heading to the airport. We thank you so much for making our sons Marine Graduation week a great experience! Thank you!!
Our family could not have asked for a better place to stay while in Beaufort to attend our son's graduation from PI. Though we did not have the pleasure of meeting Brenda, if she is half as awesome as Chuck then she is fantastic!! The home and property were spacious enough for our large group to be comfortable and truly has everything you need. It has been well cared for and felt like home. My granddaughter loved the hot tub (so did the grown-ups!) and having the washer and dryer there was an added bonus. And being able to sleep a little later because we were so close to base certainly didn't upset us! It's also close to a grocery, restaurants and USMC apparel stores. What more could we ask for?! My son said that he would have been just as happy to have spent his 10 days relaxing there as he was to come home. So, again, Chuck and Brenda-thank you, thank you, thank you!
