Our family custom designed and built this beautiful log Chalet in this secluded wooded mountain setting, as our weekend mountain get-away and holiday retreat. The family is a little more scattered now so we can now offer our private personal chalet for you and your family's enjoyment and relaxation. The Brooksong Chalet is located 1/4 mile below the top of Ski Mountain and Ober Gatlinburg and the famous Gatlinburg tramway. See live Black Bears at the Black Bear Exhibit at Ober Gatlinburg. Skiing (seasonal) and Ice Skating (year yound) and restaurants and shopping and tons of children's activities including the Alpine Slide (a must do for all ages) and ride the chair lift to the very top of the mountain to the Scenic Overlook and one of the most breathtaking views of the Smokies. Ride the world famous Gatlinburg tramway down the mountain into the heart of the quaint resort mountain village of Gatlinburg for shopping and dining or just for the ride itself.
My wife and I, our two boys, and two dogs live in Knoxville where I run several other businesses. We took over managing the chalet from my elderly grandmother about 10 years ago and have been able to keep the property in the family by doing so. We enjoy trips to the cabin as often as we are able. Our boys love the mountains. Thank you for stopping by, we hope you'll visit our beautiful chalet.
Jessica and James Tidrick purchased this chalet in 1994
My grandparents built this chalet as a mountain retirement home. Unfortunately that never came to be, so we are now pleased to offer this chalet for your family's enjoyment.
This chalet is perfect because of it's convenient and secluded location. It is a 4-5 minute drive to downtown Gatlinburg, as well as a 4-5 minute drive to Ober Gatlinburg at the top of the mountain. The secluded mountain setting makes this the perfect location for a relaxing yet accessible mountain vacation.
My family and a few friends rented this beautiful cabin over the Fourth of July Weekend and it was everything we wanted and more. If you are looking for an affordable cabin near the downtown strip but far enough from the hustle and bustle of downtown you have found your spot.I have never slept better than I did on this vacation. The bedroom bed's were some of the most comfortable night's sleep I have ever had. The bathroom downstairs did have a musty smell but did not effect my rating on this cabin. 2 Bathroom's was a true blessing. If we had any questions the owner was quick to respond and help us out. It was very warm when we were there but did not stop us from using the hot tub at night to soak our aching legs from all of the walking. It was also nice to have access to 3 swimming pools with two little girls that wanted to go to the pool everyday. We actually were on our way to one and had a bear walk out in front of our vehicle!!!!We will most definitely be coming back to stay!
Cabin was beautiful--fantastic balconies, great hot tub, sleeps 7 comfortably. There were several neighboring cabins, but it didn't feel like there was no privacy. Not sure if that's because the other guests were also pretty chill or what.
Kitchen could use some more pans/utensils/a better inventory of what's provided, but the few frying pans and pots were enough to get by. Property was clean, seemed well-maintained. Couches in the living room were so comfortable! Several deck chairs and a great picnic table on the balcony--great way to hang out with friends. Some variations in closing procedure in what was sent in the renter's information vs. what was instructed in the cabin, but nothing too big. Big plus--decent wifi! Always helpful when looking up local activities. Sad that we didn't make it to the Salt & Pepper Shaker Museum, but we did get some hiking in and some kitsch in downtown Pigeon Forge. Great pizza from Volunteer Pizza--they deliver!
Would absolutely recommend this cabin to friends and family and definitely keeping this on the short list for the next vacation I plan!
This affordable cabin is very close to Gatlinburg and Smoky Mountain National Park. The cabin is not isolated, but nestled on a mountain side among other cabins. Yet, the location does not feel crowded. There was plenty of room for our family of eight, and the cabin is designed well. The cabin's amenities were as the listing described. It did show signs of use, and could use more of a deep cleaning, but overall was nice.
Nice secluded feel with downtown gatlinburg only minutes away down ski mtn road.. or drive up the mtn to ober gatlinburg. Again less than 3 minutes away.. no good views of the mountains tho. Trees all around. But still nice in every other way. Will stay again. The fam loves gatlinburg
We stayed at this cabin on March 9th thru March 13th 2016. We loved the cabin on the day we arrived the hot tub didn't work contacted Jessica it was fixed the next day. It was a pleasure dealing W her. Our 5 kids had a blast along W my husband and I and my parents. The cabin was very homie and beautiful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stayed and will Def stay again. The roads are steep so be cautious of that. But definitely beautiful. Thank you for sharing your cabin w my family.
No pillows caes in second bedroom. No clean sheets for pull out couches. Loft not a a good place to sleep. Smell in master bedroom carpet. I told the owner about the concerns and she said she would get with the cleaning crew.
Helicopter rides, Camel riding, Dollywood, Smoky Mountains, Pigeon Forge, Bungee Jumping, Go Karts, Putt-Putt. Pigeon Forge is minutes away including Dollywood, Seveirville, etc. Our cabin is truly accessible to everything.
