Guestbook comments from the owner

We are sitting here at your refuge watching hundreds and hundreds of fireflies. Brilliant, peaceful and the prospect of staying here for several days is really great. The grounds look absolutely beautiful.

Great family 4th of July

  • 5 of 5

Paradise in the Catskills is exactly what or time there was like. It's Peaceful and perfect for our family to spend quality time. The house has everything you'll need and whatever else you might need you can get in Walmart 14 minutes away- like charcoal for the grill. The fire pit is great for sitting around, the pond was perfect to cool off and the very large field was perfect for my dog to run!! We look forward to coming back!! And recommend this place to everyone.

Thank you Michael for opening your property to us.

The Perfect Getaway!!!

  • 5 of 5

This place was Amazing!! You drive up this long driveway and it's beautiful. The grass was freshly cut and the country air was refreshing. It was a short drive from the city and well worth it. We enter the house and it was super clean and the windows were open for fresh air. The sheets were clean the dishes were washed. This house is so cozy, there was plenty of room. The kitchen was well supplied ( pots, pans, dishes, cups and utensils )all you have to do is bring the food. Which is so easy since shop rite and Walmart are so close by. The property is so big and so well manicure. There were huge paths trimmed , perfect for hiking. My girls had a blast running through the fields. We were able to see wild turkeys and a deer. My city girls were so amazed. The caretaker George who lives across the street checked in on us the first day to make sure everything was ok ( A very kind man). The private lake is very close by and my family had a Blast !! Swimming , row boating and jumping off the floating dock. The owner Michael was quick to reposed to emails and Super kind. This House is the perfect getaway!!

The only problem here is you don't want to leave.

Thank you Michael for sharing this place and letting my family make so many unforgettable memories.

wonderful weekend getaway

  • 5 of 5

Yearning for a much needed break from New York City, my boyfriend and I spent a few hours searching for a secluded cabin in the woods located somewhere in New England. We envisioned having a large chunk of land to ourselves to explore, and a body of water to swim in. We finally stumbled upon this house, and everything in the pictures proved to be to our liking. We decided to take a chance.

The drive from the city was short and sweet; we got lost at the very end trying to find the entrance to the property, which is pretty hidden. The cabin faces the owner's house, so unfortunately when you decide to grill or sit by the fire, you're not alone. That said, the owner is very sweet and helpful, full of advice and recommendations. However, if you come here, you most likely won't be spending much time indoors - there's so much to see and do on the vast property. There are blueberry fields, lovely open spaces to have a picnic on, and a pond that has some interesting wildlife (toads and turtles might surprise you as you row around in the boat.) The property also has a river, but we didn't manage to find a path leading down to it (something worth asking the owner for...) At night, the owner helped us build a fire, and we sat there feeding it for a while, enjoying the shockingly bug-free night (but bring bug spray for the day-time.) In terms of groceries, we drove to the local ShopRite about 15 minutes away, and were happy with the food selection. But bringing along a cooler or two filled with food/drinks from home isn't a bad idea either. The house is small, but the attic where we slept is spacious and clean.

Overall, we had a memorable time and would definitely not mind coming back one day. Recommended for those seeking some privacy and everything nature has to offer.

A Beautiful Stay!

  • 5 of 5

My friends and I had a wonderful time at this cabin! We were looking for a cozy cabin that fit a large group and we were not disappointed. But the real pleasure was discovering the beautiful sprawling property behind the cabin. Don't miss the chance to walk down to the pond, discover the whimsical fire pit, and take in the beautiful surroundings. Every few steps takes you through a dizzying range of vegetation and beautiful landscape along well maintained paths. Highly recommended!

Amazing property

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for a second time at this lovely property this year and had another wonderful vacation. Our children think its magical. The freedom city kids get on this secluded property is great. We love the pond but it is far enough from the house not to have to worry about the kids at every moment. Lots of hiking and exploring in nature. The house is cozy and comfortable, but we were outside most of the time. The owners are very nice and relaxed people. We will definitely return maybe even in the fall; the property is amazing!
