Absolutely beautiful location
Cottage was perfect! The beach is beautiful and so close to many great hiking trails. When the tide is in the kayaking and exploring the inlets is loads of fun. Such a relaxing spot. We wish we could have stayed another week or more!
Location, location, location!
Our family (2 adults and a 6 year old) loved our week staying at this cottage. Steps to the beach and tide pools for never-ending fun and adventure! The cottage was clean and comfortable! Owners very responsive!
Fantastic getaway cottage
The cottage is great. Beautiful view of Wellfleet Harbor & Bay from the front porch. Just a few yards from the beach in a quiet, secluded, beautiful location. The cottage was spotless. Easy to deal with windows provided great cross ventilation on those hot afternoons. Everything you need for a great time away. We never turned on the TV but the Fisher radio/cd player was on constantly. Communication with the owner was easy and everything was exactly as described. We have already booked the same week for next year and are considering two weeks. I don't see how anyone could not fall in love with this place. I'd recommend it to anyone. Our primary activities were sitting on the front porch watching the water and the people on the beach (my wife) and laying on the most comfortable couch in any cottage we have ever stayed in and reading mystery novels (me).
Our favorite restaurants (for many, many years) have been Finely JP's on Rte. 6 Wellfleet for dinner. Get 12 Wellfleet oysters on the half-shell for an appetizer and then the Wellfleet paella for entre. We like Grumpy's, Rte. 6A in Dennis for breakfast-lunch fare. We always stop there when doing our thrift-shop/antiques run. The Friendly Fisherman in North Eastham for lobster rolls and onion rings. Just huge chunks of lobster meat with a tiny bit of mayonnaise and a piece of lettuce on a NE hotdog roll. (I don't bother to eat the roll.) The Red Barn/Gift Barn in North Eastham for pizza at lunch time or the Box Lunch across the road for their great selection of wraps. Father's Day Brunch at the Old Yarmouth Inn is great. They also have a brunch every Sunday.
If you like books, be sure to visit Isaiah Thomas on Rte. 28 (Falmouth Road) in Cotuit and then cut across the Cape to Titcombs on Rte. 6A. A stone's throw from Titcombs is the Beehive Restaurant where I always have lunch midway through my bookstore excursion. The stuffed quahog with a crock of clam chowder is always one of their lunch specials. And don't forget about the Yardarm in Orleans for a great lunch or Cook's in Orleans for fried seafood (or broiled if you're being good). But, hey, it's vacation so why be good. Hope you enjoy it as much as we have. Gary & Sue from Upstate New York near Cooperstown. Go Yankees!
Serenity with views to spare
We stayed at this adorable cottage in late September & found it to be the perfect getaway. The water really is right outside the door, making for a lovely view all day long. The sunsets are not to be missed & the display of stars at night is breathtaking. The cottage has a newly renovated bath & what appears to be new flooring throughout. Clean & cozy. The homeowner responds so quickly to all emails & is a breeze to work with. Just a great experience overall.
Amazing !!! Best cottage on the beach!
Instantly relaxed! Home was very clean and comfortable . Best view on the beach. The owners really go out of their way with little details in the home that make your stay more comfortable . Can't wait to go back.
Location Isn't Everything
Some say location is everything and okay, the location is fantastic, unparalleled and can't be beat but then there's the cottage. The cottage is so cozy, comfortable and clean and the owner, Caryn is the best. But don't tell anyone, we don't want the secret to get out.
