Charming, peaceful, roomy, extremely clean!

  • 5 of 5

The Cabin on the Creek is extraordinarily nice. Cozy and secluded! Immaculate in its cleanliness. Lots and lots of wood architecture.

Would like to have a family get-together there in the future as there is plenty of room. Well-sited for travel to Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore Park and the Traverse City area.

We loved Cabin on the Creek.

Thank you for a wonderful trip. Your home was so comfortable & decorated just lovely. Loved having coffee in the mornings on the deck & bonfires at night. Extra bonus - the rivers were full of salmon. Hope to be back next year.

Quiet and Serene!

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I have been taking our summer vacations in the Traverse City area for the past 7 years. This was the first time that we chose to stay outside of the city, and we loved it! This was also the first time that our son, daughter-in-law and grandsons visited northern Michigan, and they loved it! This is the first time that we stayed at the Cabin on the Creek, and we all really loved it. It is located right off M-22 near Little Traverse Lake and Good Harbor, and it is tucked back away from the main road. That means that it is very quiet! Coming from living in the city in Ohio, we are accustomed to daily traffic noise, sirens, lawn mowers, blowers, etc. However, at the cabin, all you hear are the sounds of nature and the soft wind chimes hanging from the cabin deck. Mornings were spent sitting on the deck enjoying coffee, and watching the sun glitter through the trees while looking out upon Shetland Creek. Evenings were spent sitting beside the fire ring out back toasting marshmallows and making S'mores for the grandsons. The long drive was pleasant for morning walks with our dog, and along it's sides were wild blackberries that our grandsons loved. The cabin itself had everything one could need! Plenty of hot water. Plenty of towels. Washer and dryer [which are a must with kids]. The inside decor is done very tastefully in outdoor themes of camping, fishing and hunting. And we found the overall layout of the cabin practical and spacious such that we weren't stepping all over each other. My wife and I used the master bedroom upstairs and found the bed to be very comfortable. We've stayed at other places in the past where the bed wasn't, so it's always a plus to have it. Our grandsons used the twin beds upstairs and our son and daughter-in-law slept in the main level bedroom and there were no complaints from them. The positives of the Cabin on the Creek outweighed the negatives. As other guests have already noted, the WiFi works, but is not fast -- I had no problem checking emails or web browsing. Cell phones will not get a signal inside the cabin -- only outdoors. The downstairs walk out level is colder than the upper levels as someone has already noted. We did not use the satellite TV [which are on all levels] -- mainly because we were out enjoying the lake for the entire day, or sitting outside at the campfire. This cabin is in a great location to spend time at the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Seashore, trips to Glen Arbor or Leeland!

Charming and comfortable house in the woods

  • 5 of 5

We very much enjoyed our stay at this charming and well-equipped house set back in very peaceful and very quiet woods. The house itself is in excellent condition, very comfortable, clean, pleasant and as represented. The decor - for us city folk! - is delightful - hunting camp chic. The porches are great - one off a large bedroom upstairs and the other off the main LR/DR - and had plenty of chairs, tables, etc. Plenty of towels, well-equipped kitchen, a Weber kettle to grill on - they've thought of everything. We had perfect weather - hot, but breezy - and opted to have the windows (well-screened) open most of the week instead of the AC. Very comfortable for a group of 8 or so for dinner - Nice big DR table. Can't think of a thing to change other than perhaps a hook or two on the backs of the bathroom doors. Would recommend wholeheartedly. Eight miles to Leland, about the same to Glen Arbor and 5 mins to Bohemian Road beach.

Great family house

  • 5 of 5

My wife and adult family had a wonderful week at this cabin on the creek. The house has all of the amenities that you could want for a peaceful week in the woods. A bathroom on each floor is great to have. Although we had come for a family reunion we spent mornings at the cabin. The back porch was a peaceful place to have coffee and breakfast and great conversation. All of our family members said to please rent the place again for the next family reunion. The only minor thing was that the cell phone reception was poor in the house and we had to go to the back porch to find signals. The wifi connection helped with texting to our extended family for planning the day but was a little slow.

Peaceful Cabin

  • 5 of 5

My family and my brother's family recently stayed at the cabin to enjoy a ski weekend at The Homestead Resort. The commute was a quick 5-10 minute drive along the beautiful rural roads of Maple City/Glen Arbor.

The home offered us plenty of space and all the amenities to make us feel like we were at home. Both nights we were there we spent hours enjoying the tranquility of the decks off the rear of the house that overlooked the creek.

Everything was very clean and well-maintained.

I look forward to another stay here during our next trip to the area.
