Loved the Cabin on the Creek!

  • 5 of 5

My family recently visited this wonderful cabin near Glen Arbor for a snowy President's weekend - we could not have had a better time! The extensive grounds, creek, nearby footbridge, and gorgeous snow made for a super-fun day sledding, hiking, and exploring - even in the single digit weather! Once back inside, we enjoyed every bit of the very warm and cozy cabin - including the fireplace, books to read, games to play, toys, wonderful winter décor, and marvelous wind chimes just outside the door... The cabin was so comfortable for us all, and we really appreciated being able to bring our (somewhat) new puppy along with us! As other reviewers have said, everything was clean and all of our needs were anticipated. Thanks so much for a great winter getaway - we're hoping to come see the cabin in the summer sometime!

The perfect cabin on a creek!

  • 5 of 5

Dear Ed,

We cannot thank you enough for a the wonderful accommodations you offer. Our family was in dire need of a relaxing few days away and your cabin gave us a time and space in a very special home away from home. The cottage is so nicely decorated, CLEAN and well cared for. We truly couldn't come up with anything that didn't meet our needs 100%. We cooked, we played, we relaxed and enjoyed the cabin's wonderful location close to Sleeping Bear, the big lake and Traverse City!

Our favorite parts of the cabin were the fish pillows, the cozy living room, Christmas tree, the fireplace, the balcony's view of the stream and the unique decorations. We also really appreciated how CLEAN the cabin was. It is very clear that you have put tremendous thought and effort into making the cabin a special destination. A bonus was that the home is pet friendly and offered enough space, 2 family (lounging rooms) and 3 full bathrooms. Our children ages 8-16 felt very comfortable and we all had our own space to enjoy! Your rental is a gem and we look forward to recommending and returning in the near future.

Liz Cook (and family)

Wonderful retreat in the woods - perfect for relax

  • 5 of 5

The house was much farther back from the road than we anticipated. Although we were initially a bit nervous getting there, the setting in the woods was our favorite part of the stay. The property has a feeling of being quite secluded and remote, even though it is just minutes from all the cool places in the area. We were in town for just a few nights for a wedding, but we all are already planning to come back for a longer stay. We can't wait to sit out back by the fire pit and visit through the evening. The other couple with us brought their daughter, and she enjoyed exploring the creek that is only steps out the back door.

Everything inside was new and clean and well maintained. The house included a washer and dryer, an iron and board, dishwasher, 2 separate living room spaces with tv's, and wifi. It is a great way to vacation and explore nature and relaxation while being able to feed and sleep a large family or multiple couples.

Wonderful, something for everyone!

  • 5 of 5

This cabin and it's great setting is a place we hope to return to soon! We were 3 couples, with our dogs, and everyone loved the well equipped cabin with the balconies overlooking the yard and creek. Coffee on the balcony was a great way to start the day and make plans for the day. It was easy driving distance to a gorgeous golf course, beautiful pet friendly beach, wineries, the Platte River for tubing and even a fantastic little French restaurant.

We also enjoyed wading in the shallow crystal clear creek. Cooking and grilling were easy in the well designed cabin and the dining area accommodated everyone for dining and playing cards. We were in the middle of the woods with everything we needed easily accessible.

We have rented through VRBO many times and this was definitely a favorite!

Secluded, picturesque, peaceful, warm

  • 5 of 5

We stayed four days during one of the coldest spells last February 2015, -22 F, at one point on the road once we left I75. The first day was so cold, my wife and two young children stayed inside all day while I hiked and took pictures w/ our dog. The dog and I stepped out into a crisp, creaking, crunching, gorgeous, idyllic Norman Rockwell Winter Wonderland kind of setting. I'm a former news photographer, used to backpack, mtn bike and get lost a lot before kids. Unlike camping w/ shower facilities, this was far enough away from civilization for me to disconnect, yet, so effortless comparably to get and be warm, shower, cook and clean that my wife loved it. Camping is work, this isn't. The house is beautiful, clean, everything worked as promised. Ed and Dawn answered emails and offered info promptly. The fire place is so efficient, you could turn the heart down. We got some groceries, beer and pizza from Market 22. The second day we had a blast tubing at Timberlee Hills golf course because it warmed up to 30. We went for a Winter get away, and realized this would be perfect for Spring, Summer and Fall as well. It's so big, but at the same time really cozy and warm, you could easily share the experience with family or friends, yet, still have enough private space to not get annoyed w/ each other. We're definitely going to look at this for another season.
