It was a little Rainy, some some, but cool, 40's & 50's. We sent shopping and Sight Seeing. Momma's Kitchen was great. We loved sharing time with each other! Great Trip!

Cozy & Peaceful Cabin

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay at the "Wee Teepee". It was a great cabin for us and reasonably priced. We loved the back screen porch. A little to warm for the Hot Tub, but can't wait to return when the weather is cooler. We grilled out one night and enjoyed the porch swing and all the nature. Great trip.

Calm and quiet

  • 5 of 5

Clean and comfortable cabin for 2 or 3 people. Went up with my son for a summer vacation and the cabin was everything we could want. The big thing for us was finding a cabin that was NOT decorated out as a 'honeymoon' style cabin. While this one certainly could be used nicely for that purpose, it wasn't decked out in heart shaped beds or similar.

The loft bedroom is perfect for single parents or a one child family as it gives the feeling of having separate bedrooms. The spiral staircase to access it is VERY steep, by necessity, so I wouldn't plan on having grandma climb up there every night, but kids will love it.

Basically three decks.. One is an enclosed porch type with the hot-tub, one to the right that was excellent for evening porch sitting, and the main entrance deck with a swing and grill.

Very convenient to Pigeon Forge and just a short drive over to Gatlinburg. Perfect whether you're staying in or using it as a staging ground for covering as many of the attractions in the area as you can.

2nd Anniversary

  • 4 of 5

My husband and I celebrated our 2nd wedding anniversary this past weekend at the cabin! We had a wonderful time! We went out to dinner at The Cherokee Grill, a little pricey but so good. Get the Boursin Stuffed Filet. And went to the Tanger Outlets. We also went to Dollywood after 3 on Saturday and went back on Sunday on the same ticket! We had dinner one night at No Way Jose, and Bennet's BBQ. Bennet's was over priced but good. The cabin was nice. We loved the hot tub, so relaxing. The only issue we had with the cabin was the main light in the living room. When we arrived it was rainy and dim in the cabin, so we wanted to turn the lights on to explore. We found a switch at the front door that said main room fan (or something like that), turned it on and the fan came on, but no light. So we pulled gently on the light chain, and it came down, but didn't go up and no light came on. Since the info on the frig makes it oh so clear that they must be notified within the first 2 hours and makes it sound like your going to be charged an arm and a leg if anything is out of place, we called the first number listed on all of the info. She told us she was just the cleaning lady and said she would call maintenance. So we waited an hour and a half (sitting around doing nothing) and nothing happened. So we called back and asked when we could expect maintenance, she didn't know and asked if they could come while we were gone. We didn't love the idea but we agreed. We came back and it wasn't fixed. We had to turn on every other light to have a normal amount of light. It wasn't that big of a deal, but it never got fixed. We called the day we left to tell her it never got fixed and make sure we wouldn't be charged. She said that she was still looking for someone to fix it. (She being the owner maybe?). The thing that bothered me is that we were never contacted again after we let them know it was broken. Never told what was going on and never got an apology for the inconvenience.

Owner's Response: We are glad you enjoyed your stay and appreciate you letting us know that when you tried to turn on the light, it did not come on. We did contact our maintenance man who put this item on his list at 5 PM. Per our terms and conditions, "PLEASE BE RESPECTFUL THAT EMERGENCIES TAKE PRECEDENCE OVER NON-EMERGENCIES. PLEASE ALSO NOTE THAT IF A REPAIR IS NEEDED, WE ARE AT THE MERCY OF THE SCHEDULE OF THE SERVICE TECHNICIAN AND IF PARTS ARE NEEDED TO BE ORDERED, WE HAVE NO CONTROL OVER DELIVERY SCHEDULES." Since this was not an emergency, and there are several other lights, including a floor lamp in the living area, I did not "pester" my maintenance man as to when he would be at the cabin. The guest stated "We had to turn on every other light to have a normal amount of light." so they were able to compensate for 1 light being out with the other fixtures in the cabin. With it being "peak" season, service technicians are swamped with emergency calls and he was not able to make it out the next day. (I found out later, that he had chest pains and ended up in the Hospital overnight) I have spoken with my housekeeper, and instructed her to tell guests that emergencies take precedence over non-emergencies, ask the guest if it is O.K. if the maintenance man comes when they are not there (time depends on his schedule), or if they would prefer that he takes care of the issue after their departure for non-emergencies such as this case. Thank you for your comments. We appreciate you staying with us! Marc & Jane Preskitt

A Mountain Getaway

  • 5 of 5

This was a "sisters" getaway for a few days in July. The property was clean and comfortable and the owner was always available when we had questions. I would recommend arriving in daylight as the roads are very narrow and winding and there are not street lamps, so to speak. It was close to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge and the Smoky Mountains National Park. We had a great time!
