Amazing Renting Experience!

  • 5 of 5

This place was truly spectacular. The views were absolutely breathtaking, especially in the morning. I woke up early to see the sunrise, and watched the fog roll over the mountains and through the valley. The house is beautifully designed, and the yard around it no less. I have rented before, and working with Elizabeth was by far the best experience I have ever had on that end. This whole trip was amazing, and I hope to get all my friends back for another go!

One of A Kind Experience!

  • 5 of 5

I was looking for a remote, spacious & stimulating location to host our very first family reunion / vacation. Grahall Castle was all of this, and more! What an amazing, unique property! It is truly on the tippity TOP of Hawk Mountain. Extremely private and so peaceful. The grounds are fabulous. Sprawling lawns, 2 ponds for fishing, swimming, boating, etc. Frog catching kept our kids busy for hours on end. We had camp fires every night. Lots of great family time. There's even a swing set for younger children. The house was spotless and the kitchen was well stocked to feed a small army! Furniture & appliances were well maintained. There's plenty of room to spread out and find a quiet corner or balcony to read a book or just enjoy the magnificent views. Oh my goodness, the VIEWS! The deck off the 3rd floor master is the best seat in the house! We saw the brightest and most plentiful blanket of stars every night, and breathtaking mountain ranges during the day. Especially in the early morning when the clouds were still nestled between the peaks. We had a handicapped family member with us for the week and we were able to maneuver her wheelchair into the house and around the main floor with little issue. She was limited to the main floor, but it's quite large and spacious so she moved around with ease. If you are considering renting Grahall and have a family member with limited mobility, just reach out to Elizabeth and she will be happy to talk through your concerns. She was very helpful when I was trying to decide if this property would meet our unique needs. I think I might have won the prize for the most questions asked by a potential renter!:) The house has Wi-Fi but not all cell services work on the mountain top. We found that Verizon & ATT had the best track record. Before you reach the property, there is about a 2 ml stretch of dirt road that is very rural with a pretty steep incline. There's no cell service for the last few miles until you reach the top of the mountain so its safer to arrive during daylight hours to get a lay of the land. Have one person scout out the property early then set up a meeting point down in the town, then have any additional guests follow you up. We only had two issues during our stay. Both minor and both addressed the very same day! From my very first inquiry sent, through our one week stay at Grahall, Elizabeth was very responsive and pleasant to work with.

My family is already asking when we can return! :)

Castle on a Cloud!

  • 5 of 5

We rented the "Grahall Castle" for a week in the summer for a family reunion; ages 88 to 14. Based on the photos and the renters' reviews our expectations were high. To say the house far exceeded our expectations would be an understatement. The house is a marvel, inside and out! It is obvious that a great deal of thought and love went into the design. There was plenty of room for everyone; bedrooms and bathrooms. Although the house is modern, the gathering rooms still had a warm cozy feel to them with big comfortable furniture; the library was a personal favorite. The views from the decks were spectacular, green mountains as far as the eye could see. The huge stone patio in front of the house was a great place to relax and survey the grounds and ponds. There is even a stone amphitheater in the back of the house! We had a magnificent stay and left with great memories. We will certainly return.

Stunning Mountain-Top Family Retreat

  • 5 of 5

Our family group of 14 adults and two little ones had the most relaxing and fun vacation at this architectural marvel. Every aspect of this modern adaptation of a castle is custom and frames the breathtaking mountain views. The huge yet warm rooms provided plenty of space for everyone to gather and also to have privacy. The peace in the midst of 300 acres on top of a mountain was palpable--there is total silence. Our large contingent of 20-something cousins had a ball playing foosball inside, and wiffle ball, frisbee, etc. on the huge flat lawn outside. We also rented a kayak and canoe, delivered to the property, which was fun for everyone. In short, this is the dream country retreat and we would happily return.

Inspiring Architecture, Nature, and Awesome Views!

  • 5 of 5

We saw orange salamanders, toads, and turkeys and heard barred owls. Our dogs swam in the beautiful moats. The privacy of this property made is such a retreat. The thoughtful, artistic architecture moved us completely to vacation mode. The views from upstairs are simply jaw dropping, and the indoor lights at night created a scene from Merlin or a Hobbit movie. The kitchen was wonderfully equipped and a pleasure to cook in. If we could choose anywhere to retire, it would be here. This is a place to get a change of routine, escape, and be inspired by your surroundings!

Memorable Stay

  • 5 of 5

I stayed here with a group of friends for our annual snowboarding trip. The details of this home.. or should I say, castle was immaculate! The owners were very accommodating and immediately took care of an issue my group had during the first night of our stay. The dining room fit all of us at one table, which rarely happens on our trips. The view from the master room open lobby was grand. There was a dual oven which was helpful with getting breakfast and dinner out all at once. We basically spent most of our time in the kitchen, dining room and great room. This is definitely a must-book location. It's fairly close to Okemo Mountain. I am interested to experience this wonderful home in the summer and look forward to a future stay.

I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a spacious home, tucked away from it all.

Make sure you drive an AWD during the winter to get up to this home!
