Home away from Home..comfy and cozy

  • 5 of 5

Our family spent Christmas at this wonderful house. It is a perfect place to create memories in the Berkshires. Close to Butternut and Bish Bash Falls. We hiked to the falls and it was wonderful. The house is comfy and cozy well equipped with everything you need for a great stay. The cherrry floors in the bedrooms are just beautiful. There is a gourmet kitchen with everything from top of the line pots and pans to every spice under the sun!! The owners even made our stay extra special by leaving a nice bottle of wine on the counter for us. How nice is that? We would highly reccommend this home. You will not want to leave on the day of your departure. We wish we were still there!! Thanks Edy and Chris. It was a 10 plus!!! We hope to come back soon!!

Home away from home is right!

  • 5 of 5

Our family stayed here for the 2015-2016 ski season and fully enjoyed the experience! The home is comfortable, cozy and clean. Close to Butternut and all that Great Barrington has to offer. Edy and Chris were always available to answer any questions and help out in every way. We would highly recommend this house to anyone looking for a true "home away from home" experience in the Berkshires!

Cozy Comfort for Family Holiday Vacation!

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 5 enjoys the Berkshires for our holiday vacation. Our stay in Sheffield was very convenient to all the locations we enjoy: Hunter Mountain for skiing (an hour & 20 minutes drive), dining & movies in Great Barrington, shopping at the outlets in Lee and visiting Albany (the ice skating rink is great & it's free!) Edy & Chris' house was a great choice for us: ample space for this NYC family to spread out, super kitchen to prepare meals (chock full of supplies which is fantastic!). Edy is a pleasure and we thoroughly enjoyed our 10 days stay!!

Perfect for Us

  • 5 of 5

This house is spacious and attractive both inside and out. It is well-equipped with a diverse collection of books, games, condiments, and appliances. It free of clutter, so that you can put your stuff down easily, move around without worrying about upsetting something from a coffee table, and store your clothes in the dressers. The garden is large, with a lawn big enough to play a game of soccer or toss a frisbee. The fireplace and living room are exceptionally suitable for those of us who like to burn wood and talk. The dining room seats a family of six. The beds are comfortable, the linens are clean, and the house smells of fresh. The owner and her staff are a pleasure to deal with, so that we feel welcome while we are there. My friends and I have stayed here twice, and we fully intend to stay here again.

Two couples and two children

  • 4 of 5

We had a lovely stay in the Berkshires over the long Columbus Day weekend. The area surrounding this rental is beautiful, the weather was perfect, and we really liked the small town of Great Barrington, which is about 5-10 minutes drive from the house. The house was adequate, and probably good value for the price in this popular area, but could use some updating in decor and furnishings and a thorough cleaning. The kitchen is nice and well stocked, and the living room was comfortable. Our children enjoyed the games and toys available for young guests to use. The yard and exterior could do with some maintenance and the house is nearly directly on State Route 7, the main thoroughfare in the Berkshires, so traffic noise was a minor issue. Overall, we had a very good experience and both couples and both children were well accomodated for in the house, but we will look to stay elsewhere in future visits to this area.

Owner's Response: We are sorry that you did not feel the house was all that it was made out to be. This is an old farmhouse and has it's wonderful creaks and rememberances of time long ago. The area has been hit hard with high winds and you are right the outside needed a good clean-up from those winds. We hope your experience in the future with other rentals will meet your expectations. We do want everyone who rents with us to love the experience.
