Our first level two bedroom oceanfront condominium at Oasis Del Caribe in the Boca Del Rio area of San Pedro is a true Caribbean paradise. You can sit out on the veranda with an ice cold Belikin, relax and watch the sail boats go by or count the waves crashing on the reef, just a quarter mile off shore.
The condo is located in a picture perfect neighborhood comprised with an eclectic mix of local, visitors and small businesses. Rush hour is before and after school where the sand street is filled with children's laughter. Dive and fishing shops dot the beach, fun restaurants and a great bakery are a few steps away. Shops are very close by to restock your fridge!
Don't miss the lady who sells chicken puff pastries and the famous 'Hot Tamales! She passes by in the afternoon, aka, snack time.
A lazy 10 minutes stroll along the beach brings you to San Pedro Town. Art galleries, fun beachfront pubs, restaurants and hand made crafts can be sought out. San Pedro is a hoot, you'll sure to make lifelong friends with one of our locals hanging out in their favorite 'rum shop'.
Our condo is about 900 square feet with 2 good sized bedrooms (both with Queen Beds) and 1 bathroom. The Living area is large and open plan and our deck wraps around the lounge area. The futon makes room for some kids. Our condo is tastefully decorated with all the comforts of home including microwave, television, cable, phone, ceiling fans throughout and full air conditioning. Housekeeping available at additional cost.
We also have a nice sized pool and patio area with lounge chairs perfect for relaxing and reading a good book. If you plan to do some diving or snorkeling, the operators will pick you up at our dock.
Oasis can make a fun vacation, spectacular.

We loved this apartment! Very clean, kitchen had everything that we needed and there was even a few groceries already available. Right opposite the beach and it was lovely sitting on the patio at 5am watching the sun rise! Perfect location as there is a gym less than a 5 minute walk around the corner (The Train Station), and there is a grocery store right next to the complex which is good for the basics, but check sell by dates. It's better to go into town if you want to do a big shop. There a lots of beach bars within walking distance (Sandy Toes our number 1). We used the pool at the complex and it was lovely. The grounds are very will kept. There was a maintenance man on site every day, cleaning the pool, tidying the shrubs, cleaning the paths. You cannot go wrong at all staying at the Oasis Resort. Lisa was very quick to respond to queries and Christina was so helpful, especially as we were delayed so needed to book in later than expected. She was so reassuring. If you are wanting to stay somewhere that really feels like home,, this is the place to be!
I stayed here with a girlfriend in mid-April 2016, and it was absolute perfection! Christina was there to greet us and give us our keys. My friend lost her luggage, and Christina was so helpful through that process!! This condo is so close to town that we only had to rent a golf cart once to explore the northern part of the island (secret beach). This condo was clean, and even though it's on the first floor, we felt perfectly safe. We didn't spend a whole lot of time at the pool, but it was clean and well-maintained. We didn't do a whole lot of cooking, but when we did we had all the items we needed. The shop right behind the condo is a little sketchy - everyone told us to make sure to check the expiration date. Probably worth traveling more in town for a better grocery store. We brought some food with us, so that tied us over. The beds were comfortable, and it was so nice that there was a washer/dryer for use (although, bring your own detergent pods!). We would throw our beach towels in the dryer after use so they didn't get mildew-y. Shockingly, the place had every channel imaginable, although we refrained to watch any TV except right before bed. The wi-fi worked great in the living room and bedroom facing the ocean... the bedroom with the W/D would lose wi-fi as soon as the door closed... but it didn't really bother us.
As for activities: I highly recommend Chuck and Robbie's for scuba diving. Also, go visit Derek Angeles who handles the paddle boarding there - he was the best!! He recommended we do the ATM Cave Tour which is on the mainland... unfortunately we weren't able to, but every local said if you go to the mainland, that's the tour to do. Derek has the info, just tell him Amy & Rachel sent you! Of course, you should also snorkel Hol Chan, it's beautiful. Oh, and take a day trip to Caye Caulker, it's beautiful over there. All our other time was spent exploring beautiful San Pedro - I miss it so much already!
Oasis del Caribe is located within 5-15 minutes walk from most of the restaurants, bars, and dive shops in San Pedro. It's 15 minute walk north of the San Pedro Express water taxi. It's two doors down from a great open-air bar (Wayo's), across the street from a grocery store. We didn't need a golf cart when we stayed here for our 4 nights, but a friend-of-a-friend did lend us one for a day . The small patio is a wonderful view of the sunrise and is across a small dirt road from the beach. Quite wonderful.
Two couple stayed here (4 people total) and, honestly, we didn't spend a lot of time at the condo itself. The condo was very clean when we arrived, equipped with drinking water, coffee pot/filter, and plates/utensils, etc. The beds were plenty comfortable, the shower was great, and the eating area was just fine. We didn't try the pool, which looked lovely, but we were more inclined to scuba and snorkel in the ocean.
The on-the-ground manager, Christina, was very responsive and met us when we arrived. I would happily recommend this place to anybody needing a 2-bedroom condo in the heart of San Pedro.
Very clean condo and everything worked. Decor is outdated, but we were not in the condo that much anyway.
My wife and I stayed at this property from January 11, 2014 to February 7, 2014.
Correspondence between ourselves and the owner, Lisa, was well managed and the booking and payment process went without incident. When I wrote back to change our arrival/departure date by one week the changed was managed by email without issue.
Prior to arrival Lisa had the rental manager, Christinia contact us who followed up on our arrival time and identified if we needed transportation to the unit. If you do need a taxi, they will arrange this for your arrival/departure times.
The unit is as described and the photographs are accurate. The view out the front is lovely and there is a constant breeze coming off the water. The unit was clean and there are plenty of towels including beach towels. The air conditioning works very well. The tv has plenty of channels including a good selection of movie channels. The kitchen could have been better stocked in terms of pots and pans, as we had to borrow a kettle, buy a small frypan, and the rental manager purchased a small pot that was needed. But overall everything you need is there now. The bedrooms are a good size and both have ceiling fans and ac outlets. The beds, like all the furniture, is solid Belizian hardwood and if not super soft (no pillowtop mattresses), the beds were comfortable.
The livingroom futon is not that comfortable, it's a slide out futon type, designed to be another bed. I would only recommend this as a bed for a small child, otherwise their weight would have them feeling the wooden slats.
The water in San Pedro is drinkable (potable) but most people buy water for drinking. The water has a slight saline taste and has a high mineral content, but I used it for the month to make morning coffee and had no problems. This was our second visit to San Pedro and we never had an issue with the water.
The unit's communial pool is very nice, well designed with steps leading from shallow to deeper water, and a small water fall at the deep end. The pool is cleaned daily and there is a selection of chairs and loungers, with padding, to sit in.
Given the unit only has one bathroom it would be better suited to a family or a couple. We would recommend the unit and would certainly go back to the Oasis del Caribe as the unit is only a 10-15 walk along the beach to the centre of San Pedro. The local area is well served by shops/bars/restaurants and dive shops.
