Featured recently in Down East Magazine is Wiscasset's Little Village Bistro, a popular American restaurant serving dinner nightly.

Mid Coast Maine offers many places to visit along the coast. Owls Head Transportation Museum offers many events throughout the summer. Bath is home to the Maine Maritime Museum, a popular destination for those interested in Maine's maritime heritage and culture. Cabbage Island Clambake delivers a fantastic meal of steamed lobster, clams, and Maine blueberry cake on a small island just off the coast of Boothbay. Beginning in November, Maine Botanical Gardens lights up with Gardens Aglow, a very popular attraction with thousands of colorful Christmas lights. A must see in mid November through December! Flights into Portland Maine, Manchester New Hampshire, and Logan airport in Boston, offer convenient access to Maine’s rugged coastline, beaches, mountains, lighthouses, museums, state parks, or just relaxing in Maine’s casual atmosphere.

Come visit soon! We'll leave the light on for yah!

About Sandra

My husband and I built this Sheepscot Shores home in 2001. I grew up in Wiscasset and my husband, who grew up in New Jersey, loved this area and we decided this waterfront property would be a perfect fit to build a home. We have 5 children and we all have spent many holidays and celebrations at the home, along with our extended family.

Sandra purchased this house in 2001

Why Sandra chose Wiscasset

I have always loved being by the water and this property is located on a dead end road, is very quiet, and the view is beautiful no matter what time of year it is. It is close to coastal Route 1, a popular road for traveling along the coast, and it's easy commutes to all that the Mid Coast has to offer. It's also an easy drive to some of Maine's lakes and beaches.

What makes this house unique

The house is 75 feet from the water's edge, and there is an easy walkway getting down to the water. The large deck, located on the waterfront side of house, is great for sitting outside and taking in the view. A grocery store is only a 5 minute drive and less than that to the village of Wiscasset where many small shops are located, including antiques. Red's Eat's, a very popular and nationally known eatery, is located in the village as well. They offer the best lobster and crab rolls in Maine!

Guestbook comments from the owner

We had a wonderful time in your beautiful home! You provide everything we could have needed and more. The accommodations are also very child friendly, which was greatly appreciated as our families grow. We are a group of friends who meet yearly from various parts of the US and your home was perfect for us!

A Perfect Week!

  • 5 of 5

After over a month of painstakingly checking out rental homes in the mid-coast Maine region last spring, I decided on this one for our surprise family celebration of my husband's 60th birthday in September. The minute we walked in the house, everyone knew I had made the right choice! Not only was the house in a great location for traveling either north or south for a day's exploration (which we did - the Windjammer Festival in Camden; Pemaquid Lighthouse; a schooner ride in Boothbay; kayaking in East Bath; LL Bean; a wonderful day in Kennebunkport, just to name a few!), the house was also perfect for just staying home and relaxing (which we also did - quiet moments in the chair by the water, grilling out on the deck, boiling lobsters at $3.99/lb - WOW!, and putting together jigsaw puzzles on the coffee table to the sounds of a crackling fireplace at night). We found everything immaculate and loved the fact that there were so many little extras in the house that Sandra had provided (the cooler to get lobsters from the market; the amazing spice drawer in the kitchen; the stocked laundry room, etc.). You just don't see that in many other rental homes - you have to start from scratch when you arrive and end up with a lot of extra expenses. Our family of 10 loved the three-floor opportunity to be together (or to not be!), the incredible back deck (and view), and the warm and inviting way the house was decorated. Did I mention the wonderful master bedroom and bath? WOW! Thanks so much for sharing your beautiful home with us. We made a memory that will last the rest of our lives!

Perfect!

  • 5 of 5

Not only are the property and home beautiful, the owners have the home fully stocked with just about everything you could need. The home was spacious for our full house of family. The kids loved the downstairs area, complete with toys and room to play. Sandra was very responsive to my questions. We liked it so much we just might go back again for a family reunion next year. Thanks!!

Beautiful views, lots of space! Loved it!

  • 5 of 5

The pictures did not do the house justice! Great views, clean, comfortable beds, well stocked kitchen, lots of silverware, dishes, pots and pans, etc. , wonderful large deck! We loved having lunch on the deck every afternoon. Loved the canoe but difficult to launch with the rocky launch area. No question, a wonderful place! Plenty of room for all 11 adults. Thanks for sharing your beautiful home with us.

Perfect Family Stay

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in your house while attending a wedding and it made the weekend so enjoyable to be able to relax in comfort in between activities. We had people staying that were from 90 years old to 16 months old and everyone was perfectly happy. Your home is the perfect get away for a family or group of friends.

**A LITTLE PIECE OF HEAVEN**

  • 5 of 5

This property is absolutely breath-taking and very well-kept. It's perfect if you travel with a larger family or several couples. The view is so serene in this very peaceful, waterfront neighborhood. We enjoyed canoeing and watching the sunrise/sunset each day off the spacious deck. You could settle in to a beautiful campfire area each night. The kitchen was so well-equipped; we cooked several meals during our stay. The homeowners are very accommodating and thought of every convenience - sheets, towels, paper towels, toilet paper, laundry detergent, books, games, puzzles. The PERFECT get-away! Thank you for sharing this magnificent home!
