The Wild Goose Lodge is also becoming a popular sight for small corporate meetings, family reunions, and for groups of people that would like an affordable way to travel and vacation together without staying in conventional hotel rooms.
Our stay at the lodge was memorable. We stayed there for our annual family reunion and we only have glowing words. Everything was thought through for large groups. It was very convenient for kids and adults alike (the game room, the commercial kitchen, the multiple fridges, the laundry machines, the many bedrooms and so much more. The place is very clean and well maintained. The pictures don't do the place, justice.
It is located a little bit off the beaten track on a quiet street, which helps in disconnecting from life. It should be noted that there was no cell signal, but it was a minor inconvenience for us.
We highly recommend the lodge for group meetings as it was everything we hoped for and more.
The lodge was outstanding. The bedrooms were nice and seemed fairly well sound proofed. The kitchen was huge and equipped with everything we could have possibly wanted, right down to a professional waffle maker. The two stoves and the griddle were wonderful. The living room/ dining room were spacious. We loved the bar right next to the kitchen. The game room was fun and nice to have downstairs so no one was disturbed while sleeping. Steve, the manager, was very agreeable and made sure the place was ready for our arrival.
We came up to snowmobile. The trails were beautiful, though some were unmarked and for an out-of-tower it took a bit of time to figure them out. It was very nice that restaurants and gas were only a short ride away, only about 12 miles away heading north and 20 miles away heading south. We could hit the trails right out the backyard which was very handy.
We loved the place and plan on going back next year!
Our winter vacation at the Wild Goose was tremendous! The lodge is spacious, comfortable, and well appointed. The quality of construction and attention to detail is terrific, and the property is very clean and well maintained. As an avid cook I found the kitchen just incredible! Every imaginable pot, pan, utensil, and spice is there and at your fingertips. You could quite literally cook anything you could think of for 50 people without a stretch. The commercial appliances, right down to the coffeemaker; are very convenient. Our families loved relaxing by the beautiful stone fireplace in the great room and had a ball in the downstairs game room. The Adirondack Winter scenery is beautiful and the lodge is located right on one of the very best snowmobile trail systems in the state! The steam room is a welcome relief after spending a chilly day snowshoeing or riding the area trails. As a frequent vacation renter I found the subtle details very impressive. A community pantry helps pass on food items that would normally be thrown out, extra snowmobile trail maps are available for your use, and motion detector night lights throughout the lodge are some examples of the well though out details that go a long way to making your stay perfect. Steve is a pleasure to work with and absolutely goes out of his way to ensure your comfort. He is always a phone call away for anything you need.
The Goose Lodge suited our large family perfectly. We were 22 people and we all slept comfortabley on the queen sized beds and the bunk beds were big enough for the younger married couples to fit snugly :) The family room is huge and has beautiful fireplace that kept us warm throughout our stay. The large tables were great for playing board games and card games, and the basement game room had a pool table and foosball table for everyone to enjoy. All in all, we had a great time, the only downside to the Lodge would be the lack of cell phone reception (AT&T & Verizon had no signal), and also the internet connectivity is very slow and limited to 300MB per day which can get used up pretty quickly when you have 20 or so laptops and cellphones all using the internet. But if getting away from work and other people who may try to bother you on vacation, this is perfect! I would definitely recommend friends and family to the Goose Lodge in the future
I can't say enough good things about this property. It was ideal for our family gathering of 18 and truly felt like home. The kids and adults enjoyed the game room and the fire pit and the owners outdid themselves with a stocked kitchen, bathroom, etc. So many things that one would normally have to purchase (i.e. toiletries (shampoo, body wash, hand soap, etc.), paper goods (paper plates, silverware, napkins, papertowels, ziploc storage bags, etc.) non perishable food items, etc.) were provided. There were also more than enough pots & pans, utensils, silverware, serving bowls, glasses, steak knives, etc. We hosted a 50th Anniversary barbecue one day and had ample room for 60 people. The chef's kitchen was awesome as well as the two gas grills which got lots of use. The owner was fantastic making sure he was available to meet any of our needs or answer any questions we might have. I would highly recommend this property if you are looking for a house that will accommodate a large crowd. Thanks Steve for everything!
The Wild Goose Lodge was even more beautiful in person than in pictures. We had family of 18 staying here.We had a 50th Anniversary party at the lodge also, and there was plenty of room inside & out for all our guests. The lodge is ver well maintained and we all felt very comfortable and at home here. The owners thought of just about everything you would need for your stay, and there was plenty of extras if needed of necessities such as toilet paper, cleaning supplies, etc...Everything in the lodge was of good quality from the linens to towels. The kitchen is amazing and everything you would need to make large meals is here. The game room was a big hit with the kids, and there was plenty of space for everyone to have room to spread out.We also enjoyed the firepit outside. We would definitely return here for another stay. The owner was extremely helpful to us with all of our questions and we even had a couple of guests from the party ask for info on renting the lodge.
