Overview

About the property

House, 3 Bedrooms + Other (See Description), 2 Baths, (Sleeps 8)

This beautiful hidden newer home is only 25 feet from the bulkhead on a private cove on Puget Sound. Gorgeous views from every Window! Wildlife abounds! Seals, Eagles, Deer, Otter, Mink, Fish jumping, the rare sighting of a whale! This gorgeous and very private setting is perfect for kayaking, beach combing, and hiking, lots of clams, starfish, sea urchins, and crabs at low tide! A fire pit sits just yards from the water for campfires or cookouts! Hideaway is only 18 miles north of Olympia and 7 miles from Shelton near Arcadia Point. Did we mention how peaceful it is. Undeveloped properties surround the Hideaway, only a few homes are on no bank waterfront for miles. It is perfect for family weekends, Girl Friend Getaways, or anyone that wants to feel that they are truly away from it all. Property is over 9 acres of tall cedar and maples with over 550' of waterfront , year round creek and high tide boat launch. Beach Combing the tidelands at low tide is a must.

Stainless Kitchen, with large breakfast bar: Large kitchen with lots of bar top space to sit and watch the cook. Hideaway has an open floor plan with the family room right off the kitchen.

Back to nature: The sun room is the spot to hang out. With it's eight large windows and sliding door to the deck, you can't help but sit and watch all the wild life before you. That Seal that is wondering who you are is Sammy. I don't know when he sleeps because he spends his day patrolling the waters in front of the house. Then at night you can hear him slapping the water in the cove. A couple of times a week at 8:30 AM a doe and her fawns walk by between the deck and the water. Depending on the season (Fall) the salmon come back to spawn in the creeks and rivers. The jumping salmon really make you wish you had bought that fishing license.

The drive down to Hideaway: Hideaway gets its name from where it's located. Coming from Olympia you take Lynch Road off the 101, a nice country 8 mile drive. From Shelton you take Arcadia Road for 7 miles . Then you turn onto a long private driveway. The canopy of maples and cedar let you know right away that this isn't a regular rental. The driveway starts off flat then points down all the way to the no bank waterfront. When beach combing you won't find many homes and those you do are off the waterfront, so you will most likely have the beach to yourself.

Incredible Place!!

  • 5 of 5

We explored the beach without seeing another house, and yet we were only minutes from town.

The kids hiked the trails in the woods and came back with stories of what the discovered making this a memorable weekend for all. I asked to bring our medium sized dog, and I’m glad we didn’t, as the deer wouldn’t have come as close as they did. We hope to return in the summer and see a whole different side of this enchanting getaway.

Great family gathering spot even in cold, rainy winter

  • 5 of 5

Our family of eight, ranging in age from 5 to 71, found this house comfortable and family friendly. Since we ALL love to cook we had many competitive meals involving all ages, with plenty of kitchen space to accomodate us all, with all amenities needed for our creativity. Everything was clean and ready for us, bedrooms plenty roomy. Lots of wildlife watching and exploring of the property, clamming, and fishing. We're anxious to come back in warmer weather.

Fantastic property

  • 5 of 5

The Hideaway exceeded all our expectations, from locale to dwelling to interior amenities- it was all good. Our family of 5 adults spent 3 nights during the holidays and while I was sure prior to our stay at least one would find something wrong all were extremely happy - a rarity. You know what they say about first impressions and when we opened the door we were blown away – clean doesn't do justice to how immaculate it was and the live poinsettias added a festive holiday touch.

The cottage is spacious, everyone had their own space while at the same time common areas are large enough to accommodate all comfortably. We came prepared to fix meals and were impressed with all the kitchen utensils/appliances - truly a well stocked okitchen no matter what we prepared. From red beans and rice to steaks and even beignets the utensils were there. Beds are comfortable, bathrooms spacious.

One of my personal favorite things about the Hideaway was stepping out on the deck and experiencing a quiet tranquility like none other, broken only by the sounds of nature - a bird soaring overhead or singing in the trees or the harbor seals splashing around as if they were orca whales.

I highly recommend booking the Hideaway, you won't be disappointed.

The perfect location for our family vacation

  • 5 of 5

The Hideaway at Cannery Point was the perfect place for our family Thanksgiving weekend. It is isolated and right on the Puget Sound. From the house, we saw seals go by and watched fish jumping. The house itself is large, clean, and well stocked. We would certainly consider staying there again.

Great quiet retreat

  • 5 of 5

Loved the amenities and location. We watched the kids fishing from the deck and enjoyed eating their catch. We saw deer, otters, and enjoyed exploring the tide pools. A must return kind of place.
