Overview

Hailey House Rental Photos and Description

House, 3 Bedrooms, 3 Baths, (Sleeps 6)

Have you ever dreamed of fly-fishing the famous Big Wood River from your backyard? Or swishing through the evergreen timberline on the frosted slopes of the world-renowned Sun Valley Ski Resort's Bald Mountain?

Your Big Wood River Chateau is nestled into the mountainside, only steps from the Big Wood River, yet well within walking distance to numerous boutiques, delectable restaurants, cinema and live theaters..

The Chateau boasts a luxuriously-rustic vacation getaway for you and your family or friends with pampered sleeping accommodations for up to six persons. The extensively remodeled interior features brand new 'Old Hickory' furnishings, fresh, gleaming stainless steel kitchen appliances, complete with stunning polished granite counter tops.

An ornate wrap-around staircase is accented by a massive lava rock wood-burning fireplace that lavishly extends toward the vaulted ceiling. The hearth is the perfect place for a cozy party to comfortably sit while sipping spiced cider after a gratifying day on the slopes or skating on the Sun Valley Ice Rink.

The ground floor hosts a comfortable TV room with overstuffed leather recliners to ensure your relaxation and reprieve. The first guest room is complete with two rustic Log Twin Beds that can easily be constructed to King Size. This guest room also features an adjacent bathroom with radiant heated floors, a large arched travertine-tiled rain shower, and a large vanity-style counter space with ample storage.

Up the cascading staircase you'll discover the second large guest bedroom with a King Sized Log Bed, and a new ensuite bathroom complete with rain shower. The upstairs master suite also boasts a King Sized Log Bed, ensuite rustic travertine tiled bathroom with radiant heated floors, rain shower, and an adjacent balcony, which upon opening releases the tranquil rushing sound of the Big Wood River while overlooking a fluttering aspen and cottonwood grove.

Past the living room's sliding glass doors, you'll find a huge deck framing the mountain scene, complete with patio furniture, an outdoor gas barbeque, and a wood-burning lava rock fire pit, perfect for entertaining, family cook-outs, and roasting fireside s'mores.

Beyond the deck outside you'll also find a charming riverside gazebo tucked along the bank. This is an ideal spot to sip steaming morning coffee or evening cocktails while inhaling the beauty of the roaring Big Wood River, trout rising, and the accompanying vertical mountainscape on the opposite bank. Deer, elk, moose, eagles, squirrels, and fox are your welcomed guests.

The Chateau's exterior is complete with a single-car garage, an attached carport, and additional recreational vehicle parking.

Lovely place

  • 5 of 5

Our family stayed at this lovely get away home on the river last week. We traveled there to attend a wedding. We found the accommodations lovely. The king beds are awesome and the kitchen was well stocked. The appliances are top notch. The bathrooms are all updated. We did let the owner know of a few housekeeping details that needed attention and he plans to get to them asap. It did not impact our stay at all. This place has a large outside deck where everyone wanted to gather for meals and relaxation. I would stay there again.

Beautiful setting, great home in shadow of mountains and on river

  • 5 of 5

We had a fabulous holiday in this great home. It was nicely furnished (including games and fun puzzles we put together with grandkids). In fact, it was so well furnished and a great location, we hosted Christmas Eve dinner. We rented this is the winter (and were rewarded with a White Christmas), but definitely would want to come here in the summer or fall as well. Right on the Big Wood River, it has a nice gazebo for reading/relaxing, and a great patio for BBQ. Hoping to come out this way again!

The Big Wood River Chatea...

  • 5 of 5

The Big Wood River Chateau made for wonderful vacation accommodations! With the surrounding trees, the Big Wood River flowing through the back yard, and the facing mountain side . . . this place certainly created the feeling of having our “own private Idaho”. If one is forced to keep in touch with the office while on vacation, then rest assured that accessibility to the Internet from the large deck and the riverside gazebo provide a most desirable work environment. The location is perfect, being centrally located between Silver Creek and Ketchum (for those aficionados of fly fishing and The Pioneer) and a quick walk to the grocery store, the bike trail and hiking on Carbonate. The indoor living at the Chateau is just as wonderful as the outdoor living. The place was very clean, the appliances new and top-end, the towels and bedding plush, the remodeling upgrades very tasteful and impeccably done. The heated floors in the bathrooms were absolutely delightful!! Sleeping and showering here are fabulous experiences! Bill (the owner) was very accommodating to our needs and requests and was a fountain of knowledge concerning the area, its history and the opportunities it affords to vacationers. We will certainly be looking to return to the Chateau in the future! - CLKB - July 2009
