Picture - Susie, husband David and granddaughters on the beach. We love Sanibel Island. There is so much to do such as shelling, boating, biking, enjoying nature and just relaxing. We purchased our condo in 1993 and many of our guests are repeat. We take the responsibility of providing a wonderful vacation spot seriously. Give us a try. This home is incredible! The sound of the ocean, view of the Gulf of Mexico and sandy beach made for a relaxing and fun vacation! The owner, Susie, was helpful and super responsive to all our questions. Her tips and info helped us to explore Sanibel and Captiva to the fullest! 5 stars!

A wonderful week

My wife & I spent a week enjoying the wonderful vista of the beach and

gulf waters that this unit provides. You cant get any closer to the water than this. The unit is nicely appointed and has everything one needs. Its only a mile or two drive to all the stores and restuarnts. And an 85 foot walk to the beach for your shelling searches.

We do recommend visiting the Baily Matthews National Shell Museum. It really helps to identify and handle the hundreds of shells you will encounter on the beach and water.

Lastly, the owner Susie goes out of her way to make your stay what you want it to be.

Sitting on the screened in patio watching all the birds and aquatic wildlife was worth the trip

alone. When we return to Sanibel this is the only place we will stay.

We Loved Our Week On Sanibel

We rented from Susie Kentner. Very responsive owner and quick with a recommend if you haven't been to Sanibel/Captiva before. The condo itself was super clean when we arrived and smelled fresh every time we came back (not sure how that happened, but it did). We like to be close to the beach, and I would guess the living room window isn't any more than 150' to shore. Very convenient and well stocked kitchen as well as storage room with beach chairs and umbrellas. If you're traveling with small children, leave the beach toys at home because she's got plenty! There really isn't a single knock on this rental. If I'm nitpicking, the bathrooms are a bit small and water pressure through the shower heads will probably have a tough time rinsing long, thick hair. But my wife's way around that was the tub faucet in the master bathroom. However, the tradeoff is bigger rooms and an excellent master closet (where she has a vacuum and fan as well as extra beach towels, bath towels and hangers). Sooooo, that is simply for full disclosure. We loved the rental, loved our interaction with Susie and won't hesitate to rent this condo in the future. Neither should you! Just don't try to book it when we want it!

Awesome views

This condo has the best view of the Gulf imaginable. You can't possibly be closer to the beach from inside a unit that has floor to ceiling windows in addition to a screened-in lanai that makes you feel even closer. We challenge anyone to sit in the lanai, see the rolling waves and expansive sky, listen to the surf as it crashes on the shore and not immediately be relaxed. The condo has all the amenities you need if you want to walk the few steps to the beach (chairs, umbrellas etc) and lay in the sun, but you have the option of "being at the beach" without leaving the condo, it is that close to the beach. Owner Susie was a big help sending tips and suggestions on available dining and activities, and there is a large diversity of restaurants on Sanibel and Captiva. The kitchen is well appointed with everything you need to prepare meals, and we intended to do that, but we wound up trying the various restaurants and cafes. A memorable dinner we had was at sunset at the Mad Hatter on Captiva. We also rented bikes for the week and this unit's location in the center of the island is ideal for heading out in both directions. There are multiple flat screens in the rooms, but we were too busy to watch much TV. Overall this condo is a great place to vacation with spectacular views of the Gulf.

All That We Had Hoped For

My husband and I and our 25 year old son stayed in Susie's condo in mid-April. We couldn't have been happier. My husband is not very mobile, so the incredible view from the lanai, so close to the beach, was a delight for all of us. And the short walk to the beach was perfect. It is a delight to have our morning tea on the lanai and watch the wildlife, both avian, and human.

The entire condo is beautifully maintained, spotlessly clean, and well supplied with a wide array of kitchen cooking appliances, etc. The bedrooms are lovely and comfortable, and each has it's own up-to-date bathroom. My husband and I particularly loved being able to leave the sliding door from our bedroom onto the lanai open a bit at night to hear the ocean. The living room is lovely and has floor to ceiling windows with a full view of the beach/ocean.

Susie is a wonderful "landlord" who always responded very quickly to any email or phone call.

This is a great place to stay if you want a totally relaxing beach vacation, or want to go out for other adventures. The condo has it's own large storage area with a good supply of beach furniture, strong beach umbrellas, etc. After renting bicycles for the week, my son and I found we were a mere 1 mile from a great grocery store

as well as nearby wildlife preserves. If you go, don't miss the guided kayak tour through the mangrove bay in the Ding Darling Preserve. There are several good restaurants within a very short car drive or lovely bike ride.

Finally, to cap of my glowing review, I must add that we came away so happy with our stay in Susie's condo, that we have reserved it for two weeks next Spring to celebrate my retirement!
