About John

I am a semi-retired real estate investor who fell in love with Bend and can't find any place I would rather live. There is so much to do here if you like the outdoors, but the community feel is what really makes it special.

John purchased this house in 1999

Why John chose Bend

This was my vacation home in Bend before I decided I had to live here permanently. There are not many homes on the river in Bend, which makes it quite special. You can walk through Drake Park along Mirror Pond to downtown Bend in about ten minutes, and the other direction is the Old Mill District. I love this location and neighborhood so much that when I wanted a bigger home, I moved next door. It is rare to find a place that is so close to everything and because of the river still seems a bit wild.

What makes this house unique

It's really all about the river and the central location.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Way too short of a stay for us on our first trip to Bend. Thank you so much for being so accommodating from initial contact to after our "checkout". All the recommendations for rides and use of your map and trail book are so very much appreciated. You have a great place in a great town in a beautiful area. Thank you for going above and beyond!

We'll be back soon.

Warm and welcoming. A bit shop worn, but comfortable. Quiet neighorhood, close to everything!

We appreciated how easy it was to walk downtown and to the Old Mill shopping center. The neighborhood is very quiet. The house has seen better days. But soon we found ourselves watching the geese float by on the river, the deer, the snow falling, the neighbors' lights reflecting on the river at night.

We are moving to Bend, and this place felt like an old friend by the time we left.

I can't recommend this place enough. Great location, clean, very well stocked. The backyard and deck on the river will make you not want to leave. John was extremely friendly as well.
