I remodel old vintage homes. This home is triplex, two of which ares vacation rentals. I enjoy fixing up old homes and am glad so many people appreciate the painstaking effort it takes to restore old world charm to neglected properties.
Bob purchased this condo in 2008
Superb location in the heart of Seattle's Capital Hill neighborhood
My husband, adult son, and I were traveling to Seattle to visit my other son and his wife. We wanted to stay close to their apartment in Capitol Hill. This house was perfect. It is located on 12th Avenue which is close to bus stations, restaurants, grocery stores, and of course coffee shops. The house is beautifully decorated and the kitchen is huge! It is also one of the best stocked kitchens I have seen in a rental. It had a washer and dryer in the apartment which was very nice. It also had it's own private parking lot, which is a big plus. The bed was comfortable, and they had a pull out my son slept on which had a nice comfortable pad to put on top of it making it comfortable also. I would stay there again if we go. Thanks for sharing your place with us.
This was a great location for sure… wonderful location on Capitol Hill of that was close to downtown, the space needle, parks, and public transportation. And a great residence for a small family. For our visit there were three of us and our daughters left on the sleeper sofa. It was very comfortable with their additional memory foam mattress.
The primary negative that you would want to know about is the Wi-Fi. Both of us work remotely and having a strong, consistent Wi-Fi connection is critical. The Wi-Fi connection is not so. For instants, I often do webinars with the VIOP and the connection was intermittent at best. I would not be able to trust it for a professional meeting over the webinar. Even sending and receiving email for the two of us was difficult. If this is important to you, you may want to contact the owner about a better process.
Otherwise, the house is clean, very nicely appointed, full kitchen, and we were very happy with everything.
We stayed in this rental for five days. It is in a good location and safe neighborhood. The apartment was clean and comfy. A plus was the on site parking because parking on the street was very limited. We didn't need to contact the manager for anything while we were there, but any emails I sent previously were answered right away. Since many of our days were spent away form the area we did not use the restaurants around the area. However, we drove past many that looked very interesting. We would recommend a trip to the Olympia National Park - it was one of our favorite things we did. Other attractions we loved were eating at the Needle, seaplane ride over Seattle, Chihuly, and whale watching (among many others).
We recently stayed at Bob's house during our summer jaunt to visit our son in Seattle. This was perfect as he was literally two blocks away - we were able to walk back and forth and leave the car parked. We were also able to walk to the grocery store (QFC on Broadway) as well as to restaurants in the Capitol Hill area. Parking in Seattle is not easy and so the off street parking is a big plus. The condo is quite comfortable and is a home away from home. Pictures are accurate and the place is very clean and modern. FYI, there was an issue with the washer not working. I called the handyman who said that it was in need of repair and he offered to take my laundry and do it for me. That was very kind but I just took it to my son's and then dried it at the apartment. We used the kitchen each morning for breakfast and cooked dinner one night. I like renting from VRBO instead of a hotel even if I don't use the kitchen. Just more room. The provided fans helped circulate the air on one particularly warm day but it never got really hot and later, with the windows open, the apartment cooled down quickly . It was quiet for the most part. No noisy neighbors. I appreciate the rules you have set for all three units being quiet in the evening. You can hear some traffic in the bedroom with the window over the bed open but we closed that and kept the back window open and it was perfect. We will definitely stay here again with our son so close by. Thank you for a really nice stay!
The apartment was exactly as advertised. It was clean, comfortable, well-located, the parking was a real plus, and it was nice having a kitchen and laundry facilities right in our apartment. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
We had a wonderful week in this apartment! The location was perfect for us - near where our son lives and in a neighborhood full of great restaurants and shops in easy walking distance. We had a car, but the apartment is very close to the light rail too! We had a small glitch in that when our stay was just a few days away, we had to ask for the arrival information a couple times before we got a response, which was a little disconcerting, but once we received the information, everything was perfect!
This luxury Seattle rental, located on trendy Capitol Hill, enjoys the enviable location of being within walking distance to dozens of restaurants, coffee shops, boutique shops, and bars while being far enough away from all the noise and traffic associated with these establishments. Or, if you enjoy urban parks, two of the city's oldest and largest, Volunteer Park and Cal Andersen Park, are 4 blocks from your front door. You can hop on the complementary bikes and tool around either of these parks or Capitol Hill's mansion district.
If downtown shops, theatres or tourist or Pike Place Market are your destination you on can cover the 1 mile distance by walking, driving or hopping on one of the frequent buses only one block away.
