North Upper Truckee House Rental Photos and Description

House, 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 6)

Are you looking for a clean, quiet house with great views, lots of light and room to spread out? Then this is the house for you. Located on a street that backs onto the National Forest, you cannot find a more peaceful neighborhood in South Lake Tahoe.

Our focus is on your complete comfort, so we have stocked the house with high quality towels and linens, and really comfortable beds and furniture. Also, good bed pillows! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with lots of original art work on the walls and great colors.

The kitchen is huge with plenty of cabinets, tiled counters and floor. It is well stocked with utensils and pots and pans and we provide all the paper goods as well as spices, oil, vinegar, sugar and condiments. We want our guests to be able to cook without having to buy the numerous things needed to do so. Our pots, pans and dishes are good quality, we feel there is nothing worse than trying to cook with beat up utensils and cracked dishes. If you want to dine in there is a dining room with an expandable table, and the kitchen also has a large counter with stools for casual eating. There are restaurants and a great pizza place nearby, in case you prefer to spend your time away from the stove.

The house is wonderful whatever the season.

In summer, it is bliss to sit outside looking at the mountains with nothing but the sound of the wind in the pine trees, surrounded by a beautifully landscaped yard full of native plants, bushes and trees. Across the street are numerous hiking opportunities, and mountain biking trails, and it is a short drive to the beaches and casinos. A great location to get away from all the craziness but close enough to access the beauty of the Lake. There is even a secret back route to South Lake known only to the locals that allows one to get into town without having to deal with Hwy 50!

The gas BBQ allows for leisurely meals while the sun sets and the trees sing. We own the lot next door, so there is plenty of privacy, and room to spread out.

Whether you choose to spend your day inside or out, you will have a wonderful time. The house has numerous windows, allowing sunshine and light to stream in all day long. It is surrounded by trees, with views out to the mountains.

In winter, there is easy access to Sierra-at-Tahoe and Heavenly ski resorts and Kirkwood is a beautiful 40 minute drive. if you don't want to hit the slopes, you can curl up in front of the fire with a book, watch a movie on the large flat screen T.V., or walk across the street (literally!) to the National Forest, with miles of trails for snowshoeing and cross country skiing.

The house is also well stocked with distractions such as movies, books and games. No chances of getting bored here!

There is also a portable baby crib and high chair for those who need it.

About The Owner

We are a family of 2 parents, 3 kids, 4 grandchildren. We are in our 60's, I child in college, 2 graduated. Our busy lifestyle does not allow us to use the house as much as we would like, so we enjoy being able to share this wonderful space with friends, family and others.

The Owner purchased this house in 1999

Why The Owner chose South Lake Tahoe

We loved the neighborhood and our neighbors are so wonderful, friendly and helpful. We have made lasting friendships with them and love coming to visit and play. Meyers is a quiet place away from the busy activity of the lake, close to the mountains with mountain views, right on the National Forest with miles of trails.

What makes this house unique

Peace and quiet, sound of the wind in the trees, mountain air, bike and walking trails right out the front door.

Spacious, Comfortable & Conveniently Located Home

  • 5 of 5

My family stayed here for a long weekend and it was a great choice! The house was clean and the kitchen was well stocked with glassware, utensils, and essential condiments (even though we brought our own). The house was very spacious despite having 4 adults and two young children. It snowed quite a bit during our stay so it was a relief that we were able to park in the garage. The mud room is perfect for keeping any snow / dirt out of the main house. The yard is wide open so the kids were able to run around and take advantage of the fresh powder. The house is just a short drive (~ 15 to 20 min) away from Sierra-at-Tahoe, close to restaurants/grocery/gas, and easy to get to. The owner was very pleasant and responsive whenever we had any questions. We would recommend this place to our friends, and would definitely stay here again.

Very comfortable - served our family well.

  • 5 of 5

Lovely home located in a nice established neighborhood. During our one week stay there was a significant amount of snow. We appreciated being able to pull our vehicle into the garage and walk directly into the house via the utility/laundry room which serves as a mud room. This access allowed everyone to take off their boots and jackets before entering the house.

Great Stay

  • 5 of 5

This is my favorite area to stay in Tahoe. We lived there for many years & this house felt like home. It was very clean & well stocked. Great kitchen area perfect for entertaining. There were plenty of towels & the beds were very comfy. Yard was good to sit out & enjoy nature the dogs really liked it. Love the fact that you can just walk down the street & be on trails. The neighborhood is quite & the neighbors are very nice. We will definitely stay here again! Leah was very easy to work with & left good information of places to eat, shop etc if you are not familiar with the area. Another good restaurant to eat at is Blue Angel Cafe & it is dog friendly. Thanks

Very Comfy Home

  • 5 of 5

This was a nice cozy home off the beaten path. We had everything we needed. The long hallway kept the noise of the living room away from the sleeping kiddos. And despite a lot going on in the owners life she kept in touch and made sure our stay was as good as possible. Thanks
