Very nice home in Cabbagetown Toronto!

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed the home while we were in Toronto. It is very convenient for transportation and other needs. Parking is available and if needed parking on the street with permit was not difficult. Do not be alarmed by some of the unsavory women a few blocks away. They are not in the neighborhood and it is a safe neighborhood to walk in (we did).

The home is very charming and just as pictured. It is very well maintained and exceptionally clean. There is a variety of art--those with children might want to help educate them on what art is before arriving. The house rules are reasonable, but there are tenants in the basement and if you want to stay up late this could be a challenge from a noise perspective. The owners are very easy to work with and communicate very quickly. I would recommend the property to others.

Toronto is a beautiful place to visit. Just go down Dundas on a street car and enjoy Yonge St and Dundas. Nice!!!

Excellent for large families

  • 5 of 5

My extended family of 9 was accommodated very comfortably in the house. Ample space to eat, sleep and lounge between activities. Close to transit stops, grocery stores and a few restaurants although we usually took the tram downtown to eat. I absolutely would book Arts on Seaton again and would happily recommend the house to any larger family looking for accommodation. As an added bonus, the house is beautifully decorated with artwork and craft hung on every wall. A five star stay just outside of downtown.

Very spacious well equipped, comfortable, clean, centrally located property

  • 5 of 5

The house is enormous in size, very clean and comfortable with good quality furniture, bedrooms and bathrooms spread over three floors. It is centrally located within easy walking distance of the Eaton Centre and Art Museum. There is a Freshco supermarket within 300 yds of the property and other larger supermarkets a short car ride away, having a full range of products and providing free parking. We found Loblaws supermarket the easiest option for our diverse needs. Being so close to the centre of Toronto we found resteraunts plentyful that fit with our tastes and pocket.

Parking on the street is ample and costs only $23 per week. Irina arranged this for me. The house does have a garage but this will only fit a small car.(mid size uk car)

The house is fully equipped and more than adequate kitchen and dining room seating, cooking utensils and crockery for our party of 6 adults. On a number of occassions my son and his wife (local residents) joined us for meals and we did not feel cramped at all. The dishwasher made it easy to ensure washing up was always up to date with minimal effort.

My wife particularly liked the washer and dryer. They were quick and efficient allowing her to avoid taking home lots of washing and freshening items during our stay.

We had an excellent stay and were not disturbed or bothered in any way.

Irina the owner is extremely helpful and goes out of her way to ensure you have a good stay.

I would not hesitate to use the house again if we were visiting in numbers again. This was the view of all members of our party. I would also recommend it to other similar sized parties as you will have plenty of space to spread out or get together as required in very pleasant surroundings.

Great house. Great owner.

  • 5 of 5

"Arts on Seaton" is a great house. But more importantly its owner Irina is very helpful, very available and responds to all queries promptly.

Our family of 8 had a great holiday in Toronto on the 1st July 2015. The house is well laid out and looks even better in reality than the photos provided here. You will find all the instructions and the information you need promptly provided by the owner.

Downstairs it has a large sitting area including a nice piano and a nice kitchen surrounded by an external yard/garden. Upstairs it has 4 nice independent double bedrooms and 3 nice bathrooms. It has all the amenities you will find at home - washing machine, full kitchen items, good internet, TV etc.

Its surrounding area - 10 minutes walk or less to the east the Euton Centre is not as classy as the house - but we frequently walked out in the surroundings even at night and it was ok. So do not worry about this. 2 streets west and your are in the centre of Toronto.

We did search a lot to find the best option in Toronto for 8 people and I can sincerely say that we found it at 'Arts on Seaton'. I really recommend it.

Owner's Response: Thank you for choosing "arts on seaton" for your Toronto vacation, and thank you for a great review!!...I am also glad you understood the neighbourhood for what it is, not that "classy" and a bit rough at the edges, but full of character and oh!!...such a good location...Like any North American city, downtown Toronto is a mixed bag... Cabbagetown, once one of the poorest neighbourhoods in Toronto, is now a much sought-after enclave boasting restored Victorian homes, friendly neighbourhood pubs and one of the best cafes in the city. Cabbagetown is the largest continuous area of preserved Victorian housing in all of North America and our house is a perfect example of Victorian architecture in Toronto. All of the tourist attractions are walking distance away, the house is close to the ferry boat that takes you to Toronto Island, it is near St. Lawrence market, where you can find the best fresh produce and food in Toronto and steps away from many restaurants, pubs and cafes, the house is 10 minutes walk to the Distillery District and 10 minutes walk to Eaton Centre. There are many parks and playgrounds, there is also a real farm, the Riverdale farm, about 15 minutes stroll away. Ed Mirvish Theatre, Elgin Theatre and Massey Hall are minutes away. At the same time, you can find the million dollar house next to a boarding house, people share the streets with the homeless and the disadvantaged and you may encounter a hooker on your way home. Residents from public housing projects and affluent home owners mingle at a discount supermarket and a community medical clinic. Panhandling and drug-dealing are part of the urban landscape; so are gourmet shops, upscale boutiques and arts festivals, book launches and wine-tastings at local restaurants. I am really glad that you are the "live and let live" kind of people and you enjoyed the diversity downtown Toronto has to offer.

Great family holiday in Toronto at Arts on Seaton!

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 6 had a great week-long stay at Arts on Seaton in Dec 2014 while attending the World Juniors. The house is beautiful, clean and well maintained. The owner was very helpful and got in touch during our stay to see if we needed anything. There was plenty of room for everyone with 4 beautiful bedrooms and 3 full bathrooms (plus main floor powder room). The location was great! We walked 10 minutes to the Eaton Centre to get the subway and it was a quick ride to the ACC. Also visited the Aquarium, CN Tower, Casa Loma, Nathan Philips Square, Queen St. West, etc. Enjoyed eating at Jules Bistro, F'Amelia and Cluny's Bistro as well as watching the games at Real Sports Bar. Lots of restaurants, shops within walking distance and if the weather had been nicer we would have spent more time walking around exploring the neighborhood. We didn't rent a car and didn't need one to get around - even visited family in Pickering using the GO train. I would highly recommend this property and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again!

Family wedding in Toronto

  • 5 of 5

We immediately felt welcomed and supported in this lovely and homey Victorian home. We had 4 couples staying in the house and we all had private space as well as a lot of space for interaction. We even found a scrabble board for a family scrabble competition. The location is very convenient for public transit and we walked to the Eaton center. The art was delightful and we found making our meals and lunches easy in the well equipped kitchen. We especially enjoyed getting fresh food in the St. Lawrence market. I highly recommend this property.
