House, 3 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 1.5 Baths, (Sleeps 6)
I am a full-time musician in LA. I have always loved coming up to PMC since I was a kid. I still come up here whenever I can, to decompress and recharge. In the last couple of years I've been renting our cabin, 'Chris' Cabin' to a lot of very nice folks. I never knew I would enjoy this so much! Everyone seems to love it. I try to be very attentive, to make sure everyone has a wonderful time.
Chris purchased this House in 1974
Why Chris chose Pine Mountain Club
My Dad and I used to camp out up here in the 60s, when I was a kid. Dad and family friend Shirley bought a choice lot in brand new Pine Mt. Club. That was 1971. In 1974 they had this great cabin built, and it was our personal retreat. We always had a wonderful time whenever we'd come up. Dad and Shirley left me the cabin when they passed on. I totally revamped the cabin over a 6 month period in 2007, because I wanted to make it as comfortable and cozy as possible. I wanted to share the special experience of coming up to this beautiful place by making it a vacation rental.
What makes this House unique
It came out great! Chris' Cabin is a perfect combination of a cabiny feel (pine paneling, shag carpet, brick fireplace.), and all the hi-tech comforts (42' Plasma TV w/ 5.1 surround sound, Satellite TV, Satellite broadband internet.), as well as creature comforts (Very comfortable beds!, Brand new top-line appliances, fully equipped kitchen). It's down a long driveway off a cul de sac. Situated right on the 'greenbelt', where no structures will ever be built, with a breathtaking view of Mt. San Emigdio on the opposing side of the Canyon. There is great hiking right out the front door, as well as nearby. We have descriptions of these and many other local activities in our 'Welcome Book'. You can walk to the nearby Village Center via the charming 'Snowflake Trail', a 10-15 minute walk. We have Guest Passes to use the facilities at the PMC clubhouse. Chris' Cabin is also a perfect combination of a secluded feel and lovely view, while being conveniently close to the Village Center.

Beautiful and clean cabin with great owner!
My 2 kids, wife and I all stayed at a Chris’s Cabin at Mt Pinos and had a wonderful time! Chris was very helpful by recommending things to do and preparing to stay at his place. It was a very easy drive from Redondo Beach (where we live) and so nice to be out in nature. Got to see a little snow and go on a couple of hikes in the area. Cabin was really nice and had nice TVs and a huge movie collection and cable tv. Didn’t use it much because we spent most of the time exploring outside and enjoying the beautiful surrounding nature. Beds were comfy and the house had plenty of other things to do as a family, played games and enjoyed each others company! Thanks for a wonderful stay Chris!!
We had a great time. It is a guest cleaned cabin and so it wasn't as clean as one would have hoped. However that has nothing to do with the cabin itself. The little shopping center that's nearby is very convenient. Overall it was a wonderful stay and this is a great cabin!
Great cabin, great location
We head up to Pine Mountain Club a few times a year and this was our first time in Chris’s cabin. It was awesome!!! The cabin is great...it is comfy and clean. We had an amazing time celebrating my daughter’s 8th birthday. Thanks Chris!!!
Another relaxing getaway at Chris's cabin!
We've stayed here multiple times, and will return again. The cabin's location ensures peace & quiet. Access to nearby trails is convenient. Snowflake is a quick walk, woodland falls & enchanted trail a couple minutes drive, and Mt Pinos a short drive. The cabin is exactly as described. We spent most of the time there on the deck, listening to the water, using the binoculars to birdwatch, etc.
Chris provides thorough details and responds quickly to all correspondence.
Beautiful cabin in tranquil location.
We stayed in Chris’ cabin for two nights and it was awesome. We saw woodpeckers, chipmunks, lizards. More birds than you can count. Chris is really helpful and he leaves you wanting for nothing.
Wonderful stay at Chris' Cabin.
My husband and I just recently spent two nights at Chris' Cabin for the final leg of our honeymoon road trip through California, and it was perfect. The cabin is comfortable, cozy, and in a prime location... private and isolated, yet close enough to others for those who do not like complete isolation. The decks offer a spectacular view of the surrounding greenery and mountain peaks! Chris has put a lot of thought and effort into making this vacation rental a very comfortable one for his guests and it shows! The kitchen was fully functional - made all of our meals there. We checked out the nearby 'Falls' trail that is located about 5 minutes away from the cabin and we had the falls all to ourselves for almost 3 hours! Highlight of our trip. It's a short (but steep and rocky) hike that leads to a wonderful scene. We also visited Inspiration Point to enjoy and honor Chris' hard work in building this path for others to enjoy this spot. TV is fully functional and there is also a great DVD collection which we also enjoyed as well. There is a large binder with instructions for guests that pretty much explains how to do anything and everything you might need while you stay here, but also Chris is available and responsive if needed! Chris was great in accommodating us on such short notice and made the check-in/check-out process a breeze. Please note it is a 'self-cleaned' cabin which means you will be responsible to leave the home just as a you found it with a few light house-keeping duties before check out - however, the bonus is he does not charge an expensive cleaning fee like other vacation rentals do. We didn't find this cumbersome at all as we always do our part of leaving the vacation homes clean anyway. If we're ever back in this area, we would not hesitate to book again. Thanks again Chris!
