Penínsulas de Santiago Condo Rental Photos and Description

2 bedrooms, 2 full baths, sleeps 5 adults or 4 adults and 2 children

Condo Bella Vista is part of the gated and fenced Condominio El Faro complex sitting more than 300 feet above Santiago Bay and the warm, blue Pacific. Our west-facing balcony is a perfect place to watch whales or enjoy spectacular sunsets over the water. But this is only half the view, because the 600-square-foot balcony wraps around this top-floor condo providing 270 degrees of breathtaking scenery, including sunrise over the inland mountains that surround the city of Manzanillo and the lights of the city beneath sparkling star-filled nights. Newly renovated, this 2-bedroom, 2-bath contemporary unit is a perfect getaway for two couples or a family of four to five. The 14-foot ceilings and large windows throughout give the large, 1776-square-foot unit a bright, open feeling that draws in the spectacular outdoors, giving you the feeling you are living on top of the world. Lastly, the El Faro complex is known for its resort-like grounds and three pool areas, inviting breezes, and very efficient staff, including twice weekly maid service.

About Jack Trlica

Growing up in Texas, we've traveled throughout Mexico. We honeymooned in Ixtapa, experienced hurricanes near Tulum, explored the mountains above Puerto Vallarta, and enjoyed family beach homes on the Sea of Cortez. When we first visited Manzanillo in 2007, we fell in love because it's a wonderful mix of ocean beauty without the tourist hype...a relaxing place to escape work and, hopefully, the place we retire to one day.

Jack Trlica purchased this condo in 2008

Why Jack Trlica chose Manzanillo

We thought we wanted an oceanfront condo. But when we walked into Condo Bella Vista, the views literally took our breath away. The beach is nearby and accessible. But the views of the ocean and surrounding mountains are just too awesome. We knew we were home at Condo Bella Vista.

What makes this condo unique

Condo Bella Vista at El Faro is an ideal location. The end unit on the top floor of building one is completely private. No one in the complex can see us. And because there are no neighbors, you have the feeling you are all alone on top of the world. At the same time, you have access to the ocean and wonderful neighbors to interact with when you want.

Guestbook comments from the manager

Traveling from Vancouver, BC, to meet our parents from Alberta and Pender Harbour, BC. We joined one set of parents here at El Faro because my brother and his in-laws own a condo here and they recommended this beautiful condo to us. They were here for the holidays with my brother and his wife, Zoe.

We decided sometime this spring that we'd all come down to celebrate Christmas and New Year's Eve since Zoe and Andrew were expecting a baby one week before my husband and I were (incidentally, his name is also Andrew). In short, both new babies were in tow: Annie, my brother's beautiful baby girl, and our baby, Jasper, 8 days younger than his cousin.

With my in-laws at Barcelo and Zoe's parents, along with several extended family members here, including her brother and sister, their partners (staying in the condo below), we celebrated Annie and Jasper's first Christmas with 29 people around the pool, 3 turkeys, all the trimmings, and some Mexican flare...spicy appetizers of margaritas and fresh prawn ceviche!

Jasper and Annie banked many hours poolside and at the beach. Both slept through the incredible fireworks display viewed from the pool/tower here at El Faro.

The condo was a great place to gather and we loved the gorgeous sunset views from the patio. What a memorable, special trip!

Another highlight: a private Mexican cooking lesson held right here in the kitchen!

Many thanks,

Nancy and Andrew, Vancouver, BC

Fabulous condo - highly recommended

  • 5 of 5

A wafting night breeze that gently caresses, rhythmic ocean waves, a comfortable bed and morning bird song all contribute to longer and better sleeps than normal. The plentiful, clever and humourous artwork make this place feel like a home rather than a rental unit. With a well-stocked kitchen and a good book, there is little to entice one away from the balcony with its ever-changing vistas and gorgeous sunsets. But, alas, going out is a must. The local bus and taxi systems provide efficient and inexpensive transportation, even without a car. Our favourite beaches for full day outings and lunch were Miramar, Boquita and Santiago. Don't miss the small veggie and fish vendors in Santiago in lieu of the mega-stores in Manzanillo. We had worthwhile trips to Barra de Navidad, Colima and Comala, and snorkeling. Trip Advisor led us to a surprising number of good restaurants.

We have been to a number of magical places in Mexico, and in this condo Manzanillo was among the best.

Many thanks to Cindy and Jack.

Great condo, location, and views!

  • 5 of 5

I've stayed here twice and the experience has been outstanding both times. I spend the early mornings on the balcony watching the lights of the city and the sunrise. Actually, I spend quite a bit of time on the balcony as there are always nice breezes and beautiful sunsets over the bay.

The condo itself is perfect. Nice family room, everything you need in a kitchen and bedrooms are good sized with lots of storage. Choice of two swimming pools on the property and they have always been clean and refreshing.

The location is great. If you are in downtown Manzanillo area, you are at the end of the things that you want to get to. Here, you are centrally located to restaurants, beaches, and within 25 minutes or so of the airport.

I couldn't recommend this property more highly!

Beautiful Views!

  • 5 of 5

We booked our trip to Manzanillo 6 weeks prior to leaving and we had very little time to find accommodations. We came upon Condo Bella Vista and the pictures seemed great and the views stunning. Jack managed our request quickly and professionally. Upon arrival the condo looked exactly like the photos on the website, but the views were breathing taking. Every night we sat outside enjoying the spectacular views, sipping wine and playing cards. We walked down every morning to one of the beaches, relaxed, rented boogie boards and enjoyed wonderful food. The red food truck downtown and the stand near the market had the best fish and chicken tacos. We taxied back up to the condo some days, but walking is manageable with proper footwear. We rented a car one day and drove to Barra de Navidad, took the boat taxi to the island and enjoyed fresh seafood at Maria's. It was excellent!

Overall our trip was fantastic. There were very few tourists and the experience felt more authentic than many places in Mexico we have visited. The condo was beautiful, the grounds and pool immaculate and the staff extremely helpful. Thank you Jack for renting the condo, it was perfect!

Family of four spent the holidays at this exceptional property.

  • 5 of 5

What a fantastic choice for our 2013 holiday! The property is well situated on a hill summit with incredible views of both the ocean and the town of Manzanillo. Picture a growing storm of billowing grey clouds moving in from the north, bolts of lightening seeking distant peaks contrasted with the colorful sunset over the Pacific in shades of blue, purple, orange, pink and red. Watching the New Year's Eve celebration from the Condo Bella Vista balcony we saw basketball sized candle flame powered "balloons" rise above the city glowing softly as they drifted in the breeze. For our family of four adults (parents and two children) the Condo Bella Vista was as much an attraction as the beach, the surrounding communities and the night clubs. It was a comfortable home to return to after a day of exploring or sampling restaurant cuisine. For home cooked meals the kitchen provided a convenience for four people with different tastes in food. The expansive layout of the property allowed privacy and escape when each of us sought solitude.

Owner Jack was professional in his administration of the property and assisted us when asked about some specific logistics. The condominium management were helpful and the woman who cleans the property twice a week knows what clean is!

I do suggest that if guests are arriving by their own car that directions be available from some landmark in Manzanillo to assist finding the property.

If you are concerned about not being located directly on the beach, don't be. There are multiple beach locations to check out depending upon the type of activity you want. Don't miss beach town of Barra de Navidad about 40K north. Laid back and friendly, good food and "bar" kiosks along the walkway. They got surf too! A distinct difference from Manzanillo.

Thanks Jack and Condo Bella Vista for helping us enjoy a wonderful family vacation.

Owner's Response: We are so pleased that you chose Condo Bella Vista and enjoyed your stay. You've joined a long list of visitors who have delighted in the spectacular views of the oceans and mountains from our balcony, as well as the comfort of the spacious, homey condo...a world of difference over a hotel room. We've never had the opportunity to be there Christmas or New Year's Eve. Based on your experience, it sounds like we have to do that soon. Thanks again, TJ. Hope to host you again in the future. Jack

Wonderful Time in Manzanillo

  • 5 of 5

We spent a fantastic Christmas holiday at Condo Bella Vista. The large, well appointed Condo was our little piece of heaven during our week long visit to Mexico. The panoramic view was amazing, something we took advantage of as much as possible, especially during sunset. We also enjoyed the refreshing daily dips in the pool. I highly recommend Condo Bella Vista to anyone looking for a peaceful, relaxing vacation. You will not be disappointed.

Owner's Response: It's always gratifying when our visitors have an enjoyable time at Condo Bella Vista. I spoke to Brian after his visit and his family not only took full advantage of the condo and the facilities at El Faro, but visited many of the attractions in and around Manzanillo. We look forward to hosting Brian's family in the future.

Luxury and Value

  • 5 of 5

Since our original visit to Condo BellaVista in 2009 we have visited Manzanillo and returned to Condo BellaVista annually. Each time on our return we find that our hosts have continued to make improvements to the condo to make it even more luxurious, comfortable and accommodating. Changes have included small things like kitchen appliance upgrades or decorative touches, to major improvements such as new terracotta flooring throughout the condo and major bath remodeling. It's obvious that Jack and Cindy take pride in making sure that their guests are treated to the very nicest of accommodations during their vacation in Manzanillo. We plan to return and continue to highly recommend Condo BellaVista for your vacation in Manzanillo.

Owner's Response: We are so lucky to have Tom and Connie stay in our condo each January through March. They are perfect guests, and even though we have never met them in person, feel like they are long-time friends. They definitely have become part of the El Faro "family." We hope to develop new friends like Tom and Connie who will enjoy Condo Bella Vista every year. Please consider trying our comfortable condo the next time you visit Manzanillo.
