Enjoy Munich as a local in this newly renovated two room apartment in the center of town. The building dates from the mid 1800's and the ammenities from 2016. With 82 square meters (almost 900 square feet) you will have plenty of room to work or relax. The apartment is on the ground floor and, in addition to being very secure, is easily accessable for any traveller. The location is very close to SENDLINGER TOR, a major public transportation hub with the intersection of 4 subway lines, 4 tram lines and a bus line. You can easily get to anywhere in the city from Sendlinger Tor. Marienplatz is only a short stroll away. Inspite of being in the center of town, the apartment is very quiet and is always enjoyed by guests of any age. Families, retirees, business travellers, opera singers, actors and explorers of all kinds have been our guests over the years.
The bathroom was completely remodeled in 2016 and includes a large walk-in shower, floor heating, custom cabinets and a clothes washer/dryer combo. The kitchen includes a large refridgerator, dish washer, plenty of cooking utensils as well as pots-and-pans of all sizes. The apartment is ideal for longer stays or shorter get-away trips.
A brand new, Italian-made sleeper sofa with an extra sized mattress for comfort is found in the living room along with a lovely new dining table and chairs. The living area has tasteful lighting which may be dimmed to suit any mood.
The bedroom has a brand new 180cm x 200cm mattress and bed along with top quality bedding from Zoeppritz, Europe's oldest fabric weaving company (1828). You will have plenty of closet space along with a comfortable work desk and high-speed WLAN connectivity and, of course, a flatscreen television. Draw the lovely JAB Anstoetz drapes for privacy at any time and enjoy your home-away-from-home in Munich.
Your hosts are a German-American couple who have been welcoming guests for over 10 years. We love Munich so much that it is only natural to want to share this fantastic city. Our own home is only a few blocks away from this apartment.
Patt Howard purchased this apartment in 2005
When you combine the perfect location with attention to detail, you have a wonderful space in which even the most picky of travellers feels welcome and at home. The Glockenbachviertel was the first neighborhood to be built outside of the city's original wall. The neighborhood has an eclectic mix of young couples, retirees, nuns, artists, designers and families. Restaurants, coffee shops, independent stores, grocery stores, ice cream parlors, chemists/drug stores and cinemas are all at your doorstep. You will love this neighborhood.
our first stay in munich. we were only there for a few days for a conference. our flight was delayed, but patrick and michael live only minutes away, and were happy to coordinate by phone and text, and happily met us when we arrived at the apartment. this apartment is on the ground floor courtyard - behind security door - on a quiet commercial street near central Munich. lots of good small restaurants and bars nearby. food markets and plenty of shopping only a short walk. underground and street car stops around the corner. plenty of nearby street and covered parking (we had booked a car because the "bundle" made the flights cheaper, but we didnt need it). it was VERY cold outside, but the apartment was warm - and the radiators were easy to use. the washer/dryer combo machine was easier to use than most of these units, and it worked well. the shower had great water pressure. the espresso machine was a bonus. would happily stay here again.
Very convenient to visit the centre of the city and main tourist areas but in a quieter residential neighbourhood close to grocery shops and restaurants, as well as all transit! Apartment itself so impressive and exceeded our expectations - very large, clean, welcoming and came with everything we needed (well stocked kitchen tools, etc.). Could not recommend it enough, we hope to be back!!
Patt was great. Excellent location. Quiet and clean..... Loved it , and highly recommend!
This apartment had every amenity we needed including comfortable bedding, great shower, lots of closet space and hangers, good reading lights by the bed, and even extra power converters for US plugs. Patt and Michael were gracious and personable hosts and even arranged our ride back to the airport. The neighborhood is only a short walk from Marienplatz, the center of tourist "action", but it was quiet and filled with cozy and relaxed bars and cafes. There are 2 groceries and a bakery within 2 blocks. Highly recommended!
Janet and I spent two enjoyable weeks during Oktoberfest in this newly-renovated apartment. The location in city center made it easy to enjoy all the festivities. Our massive bedroom with king-sized bed was just perfect. The rain shower added an extra treat.. Complimentary wine on arrival was another touch.
Breakfast was only a few steps from our ground-level location. A convenient market for shopping took only a few minutes.
The neighborhood is clean and safe for an evening stroll. Use local tram and subway just minutes away from the apartment. We would highly recommend this quiet apartment, if you want to be at the center of activities.

Everything was perfect and the owners were wonderful to work with. Great for couples and people wanting to stay more like a local instead of in a hotel. We would stay here again!
Other Activities: shopping, hot air ballooning, spa
