We live in Northern Virginia and have managed this cozy little cabin on behalf of Lorna's father, Brett, since 2006. Before it became a vacation rental, we enjoyed many visits to the cabin with our children as did Lorna's sisters and their families.
Bob and Lorna purchased this cabin in 1990
The cabin was purchased to accommodate family and other out of town visitors and it's renovation was one of Lorna's father's many projects. We now rent it through Homeaway and VRBO so that others can enjoy Swannanoa, Black Mountain and Asheville as much as he did.
Built in 1932, the Cabin was renovated and modernized in 1992, and a complete overhaul of the exterior and interior was done again in 2010. Changes and updates to the furnishings are made on an ongoing basis to ensure the comfort and enjoyment of our guests. The Cabin is a perfect place for a weekend getaway. The waterfall can be viewed from the deck and hot tub, and the general tone of the property is quiet, relaxing comfort.
This was the perfect getaway. Everything was clean and working well. TV and DVD player was a bonus. Having VS on cable so I could watch the Tour de France was the cherry on top. I could not ask for anything more!
Our family of four truly enjoyed the peaceful serenity of Brett's Falling Waters Cabin. The weather went from bitingly cold to rain to typical March winds and cool temperatures in less than three days, however the cabin was always toasty, the waterfall consistently rushing and the hot tub forever inviting! Location is great for exploring Black Mountain and Asheville, both hiking and shopping the local artisans. Our family actually has 7, but the 4 that were available for this get-away fit perfectly in the quaint 2 bedroom cabin. Kitchen well-stocked, cabin clean and neat, and both the coldest and hottest water I've ever experienced. Highly recommend!
We really really enjoyed our stay , I will definitely recommend Brett's falling waters cabin to my family and friends.
Great cottage about 20-30 minutes away from Asheville proper. The cabin was very well kept, the hot tub was great, and it was in a nice, quiet location. There's a grocery store close by, and downtown Asheville is just a short drive away! Definitely recommend!
We enjoyed our stay, the grounds and cabin were exactly as they were pictured. The written material was also very clear. We especially
Appreciate that there was a telephone landline and clear direction how to call 911, if needed. Every detail, like that, was attended to in the literaturet. Our only suggested was to leave instructions how to use the television and a station guide for the area and Charter communications, cable provider. The caretaker was helpful regarding the TV, and got us on board with it.
A four-wheel drive vehicle is not needed to reach Brett's Falling Waters Cabin. Full service grocery shopping, ATM, Banking, Gas Stations within 4 miles. Falling Waters Cabin is just 3 miles from Warren Wilson College and minutes away from the Village of Black Mountain, Montreat College, and UNC Asheville. Go driving and hiking the Blue Ridge Parkway, entry at Milepost 382; Visit the Biltmore Estate, take a Trolley Tour of downtown Asheville, wander the shops of Black Mountain.
