About The Owner

I am a theatre scenic designer and a decorator and come from the San Francisco Bay area where I was born and raised. I had a victorian in Benicia I restored for 13 years. I raised a family there. I now live in Ashland, Oregon and teach technical theatre at AHS. Theatre has been my life and my energy.

The Owner purchased this villa in 2005

Why The Owner chose Brookings

I came to Brookings to vacation and found it to be the nicest Oregon coastal town. The weather is the best compared to other Southern Oregon towns and the Port of Harbor has the Pacific and Chetco River flow into each other. I had a vacation rental in Ashland, Oregon that was successful and I hoped I could create one in Brookings.

What makes this villa unique

There are many fine restaurants, sitting on the beach looking at the ocean is a huge stress reliever. The nearby redwoods are amazing.

I must admit that when I stay at Villa Moliere Lodging, I fine a wonderful sense of acknowledgment and hope that my guests feel at home.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Thank you for renting to us. We had an amazing time!!!!

Very acceptable

The only complaint was the size of the bathroom: a bit on the "tight" side,

but still adequate. An older unit but well kept and CLEAN! Nice view out

the front window!

Surprised but happy

  • 4 of 5

Did not expect an older, small manufactured cabin (park model)--basically a trailer without wheels--jammed in with another and difficult parking access. However, the location (other than busy road and nearby highway bridge traffic noise) on the river was very nice--and very close to town and harbor. And it was clean and well decorated, quite comfortable even if a bit tight after we had stayed in larger vacation homes on this trip. The outside deck, with river view, chairs and river view, was nice. Bed was a bit lumpy, but we slept well. All in all, we were satisfied with the stay at the price we paid.

nice digs for a few days in brookings...

  • 4 of 5

This is a park model overlooking the Brookings-Harbor bridge and the Chetco River. It is NICELY decorated with some COOL pieces of furniture to make it all more interesting.

We spent LITTLE time here in the unit, since we headed out on day adventures. This place was a LOVELY place to come home to after a day out -- MUCH nicer than camping and MUCH MORE than a similarly priced motel room.

Wish we could have stayed longer; and we look forward to a return one day....

Lovely, Comfy homey and Clean

  • 5 of 5

We arrived on a Monday afternoon after an 8 hour trip, to a lovely park model overlooking the Chetco River. Doug had seen to it that all of our needs were met plus mints on the linens. This adorable rental is located close to the Port of Brookings, shopping, sightseeing and, in our estimation, is an ideal location for two people who want to become familiar with the area. The kitchen was stocked with pots and pans, dishes and all of the amenties to cook delicious meals, which we prefer to eating out. Bring your own food and seasonings, but all else is there including a nice washer and dryer shared with the other unit. Thanks Doug, for your hospitality and meeting all of our needs. We will be back next year.

Perfect Getaway!

  • 5 of 5

Thanks, Doug, for exceeding our expectations on this charming and fully equipped home away from home! Great view of the river! Comfortable accommodations, very tastefully decorated, and all needs provided for. Whether watching the sunset from the deck or a couple of minutes away at the ocean -- picking wild blackberries down the street -- visiting farmers market, parks or shops -- fishing -- or just relaxing by either river or ocean -- we couldn't be more pleased with this lucky find!

not too impressed

  • 3 of 5

My husband and I were not aware that this cottage was actually a trailer...without an ocean view or any view at all. I will give credit where it is due- the owner is a very nice guy and inside of the trailer is nicely decorated. We did enjoy our stay but for the cost I would personally rather spend 10 dollars more and stay at Whaleshead resort next time. I didnt see anywhere on this site informing people that it is actually a trailer- I think that should be made clear.

Owner's Response: Thanks for the positive comments......the listing for Villas 1 & 2 describe the units as 385 sq ft park model manuf homes Both units have bay windows and decks that overlook the Chetco River and the North bank. I purchased the land these two units are on based on the views.
