About The Owner

We moved to Big Bear in 1999 having always rented a small cabin to stay in at Christmas. We learned a lot about what makes a great rental and have tried to incorporate it into this one.

Why The Owner chose Big Bear

We always walked our dog on this street and were waiting for a cabin to come available, thinking it was just the perfect place for a great vacation rental. We completely remodeled it with all new dual glazed windows & insulation, wiring, plumbing, tankless water heater, kitchen, siding, and paved parking.

What makes this cabin unique

The proximity to the lake is a big plus, and the gently sloping back yard and street-to-street lot make for great sledding in the winter.

Super cute place!

This little house was perfect for us! VERY clean, fully stocked with amenities, great location and a great setup for a dog. We loved the nice big porch on the back. Beautifully furnished, too. We'll be back again. I highly recommend this spot.

A great cabin!

  • 5 of 5

We came up for Mother's Day weekend. My wife, 8 year old daughter, myself, and our Yorkie.

The place looked better than the pictures. It was well taken care of and nicely furnished. Great natural light with beautiful views. A perfect deck along the back of the cabin. Easy to use and modern TV with satellite, DVDs, PlayStation. It was easy to find and is close to area attractions. There was a nice welcome package that even had a dog toy and dog treats.

We would definitely book this cozy cabin again!

Fun Labor Day weekend

  • 5 of 5

2 couples & 2 dogs enjoyed this comfortable, well stocked dog friendly home! We ate in every night & found the kitchen to be perfect ~ even a crock pot! There were plenty of dishes & flatware which made the last day clean up so easy ~ everything in the dishwasher. The couch in the livng room was so comfortable & the guys loved the foosball table. We hung out on the deck at night w the dogs & made use of the fenced in run. The bedrooms were very comfortable with plenty of pillows. We weren't expecting it to be so warm, but the ceiling fans really helped. The shower had great pressure & a nice view :-)

Our only suggestion is to have some WD40 on hand ~ for the squeaking bathroom door.

We really enjoyed ourselves & it was a quick ride into the village < 10 min.

This gem is so great that we offered to buy it!

  • 5 of 5

What a lovely home for a getaway to Big Bear. I am a little snobby when it comes to hotels and VRBO rentals. I have nothing but wonderful things to say...the kitchen is ready for any gourmet. We loved the island, and used it all of the time. Our dog, Maddie, loved lounging on the deck and watching life go slowly by. Both beds were wonderfully cozy and comfy, and the sectional and movie selection just added to the ambiance. There are endless walking options nearby, and stargazing in the evening was just amazing. Looking forward to our return in May.

Thanks, Karen & Tim, for sharing your incredible home.

Great cabin!

  • 5 of 5

What a great cabin! It is very close to the lake. The neighborhood is so nice. It is an established and a quite neighborhood. It is fun to walk around and look at all the beautiful cabins among all the trees. You feel like you are away from the crowds and the noise, but the village is really just a 5 min drive away and there are lot of restaurants and shops within a short driving distance. On the inside, the cabin is very clean and beautifully decorated. All the log walls inside make you feel like you are in a true cabin but at the same time all the modern conveniences are there. The kitchen is a cook's dream. There is a lot of space in the kitchen and around the island, making it perfect for cooking and at the same time enjoying the company. Very dog friendly. The dog run is fully fenced and can be accessed right from the patio. It was so nice not have to put our dog on a leash and take her outside. Instead, we would let her out to the patio and she would just go to the dog run, do her thing and come back inside through the patio. Very convenient! The beds in the cabin are the most comfortable we ever slept on in a rental or a hotel. We will be back! (:

Most Wonderful Getaway

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I hadn't had a vacation in 4 years and we're so happy we found this perfect cabin where we could take our dog. The cabin is so beautiful, has everything you need. It is so quiet and relaxing. There was a nice toy for our dog and dog treats, which is such a nice touch. A welcome package with all the information you need. It was a quick little drive to the north side of the lake for fishing. A quick little drive into town for the market and for shops or restaurants. It was a quiet little neighborhood where we could take our daily walks with our dog, which was wonderful. We will definitely be back. Thank you for a wonderful time and the most beautiful, comfortable welcoming cabin.
