Santa Fe Hobbit House is more than a place to stay: It is a Destination!
Gorgeous landscaping, private gardens and a waterfall, make it a veritable retreat atmosphere.
Wi-Fi, two HD TV's, computer with internet, printer and wireless . Gourmet kitchen. The real touchstone of this house, however is its distinctive gallery feeling. Loaded with murals, wood inlay and mosaics ... it is truly a place to stay for those visiting the Santa Fe artistic and historical attractions.
A quiet neighborhood, yet only 0.7 miles to the Guadalupe Railyard District and 1.4 miles to the Santa Fe Plaza.
Santa Fe Attractions, Indian Market, Spanish Market, Folk Art festival, Chile and Wine Festival, Santa Fe Opera
Canyon Road Farolito Walk, Zozobra and the Farmer's Market.
This lovely home has been the perfect home for our first visit to Santa Fe. The house is so warm, welcoming and full of delightful detail and beautiful craftmanship and artistry. We've admired the garden, cooed at the hummingbirds,we've eaten the delicious snacks you gave us and we have vowed to return! Thank you so much for everything!
The "Hobbit House" is a wonderful place to stay. Very comfortable, beautiful and well appointed. The owners provide everything you will need and more! The house is close(walking distance) to groceries and Starbucks. An easy walk to town and all of the historic sites.
There is a glorious patio to enjoy the Santa Fe weather.
I would highly recommend this property to anyone visiting Santa Fe!
Recently had the opportunity to stay in this amazing home for a 50th birthday party / family reunion. I want to return to just stay in the house and soak up all the beauty in it. It had everything we needed and more. It is worth traveling just to stay in this place - you won't need to plan any excursions!
The only reason this is a 5 star is because there isn't a 6 star. Add whatever superlatives you can think of and then add more. It is over the top in delightful, artistic beauty. You have to see it to believe it. Every time we opened the door to return to this vacation get-a-way it was with a sigh of sheer relaxing enjoyment. Could not have been better. Thanks for the opportunity to experience the hobbit house in one of our favorite places - Santa Fe.
The incredible attention to detail, Handcrafted furniture, artwork, tile mosaics, landscaping, waterfall, charming garden shed, everything about this property is so well done. We have never seen anything like it. Superlatives are not adequate. Can't wait till we can come back again. My camera is nearly worn out from all the pictures I have taken. It surprises you every time there is a light change and you feel you must take another picture.
My family recently stayed at this beautiful house. It is a work of art! Intricate mosaic work in the bathrooms and kitchen, stained glass doors and intricate woodworking throughout. All of the modern conveniences you could ask for. The outside patio is great. A waterfall, flower garden and spacious patio with outdoor seating for dining. House is within walking distance to lots of stores, our favorite was the bakery Dulce which had superb muffins and many other treats. Very close to historic Santa Fe. My family did not want to leave this lovely retreat. Highly recommend.
We rented the Sante Fe Hobbit House for a week (March 28-April 4, 2015) through VRBO. The occasion was a birthday celebration and included four friends from around the country meeting in this beautiful city. The property was a perfect fit for our group. Our overall rating of the Hobbit House is "Excellent+++++".
If you have looked at other comments and photos about the house, you may not believe it can be so beautiful. The property is spectacular and a joy in which to spend time. The house was immaculately clean upon our arrival. There are stacks of clean towels and all the lotions and shampoo/conditioners you can want in the superbly furnished bathrooms. The room arrangement is very comfortable. We spent most of our time in the kitchen working on crossword puzzles and playing games. It is a pleasure to sit at the kitchen/dining room table and enjoy the craftsmanship.
The house includes a extremely well-equipped kitchen with all of the tools you need to enjoy home cooked meals. Not only is the kitchen furnished with cooking utensils and coffee makers, but well furnished with cooking oils and spices, etc. It was so nice to arrive late on our first night and see a pound of fresh ground coffee waiting for us so we didn't have to run to the store right away. The back deck is beautiful. The water feature in the backyard made it so inviting.
The Hobbit House is in a perfect location. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful, but you are only blocks away from groceries (Trader Joe's and Whole Foods) and coffee shops and bakeries. The walk to the plaza is less than 30 minutes along a quiet residential street. A list of recommended restaurants and bakeries nearby is thoughtfully prepared and left for you.
If you are just looking for somewhere to "crash", don't rent the Hobbit House. This house is made for relaxation, enjoyment and enrichment in a beautiful environment. We would happily come back and glowingly recommend this property to our friends.
