Overview

About the property

Apartment, 1 Bedroom with Comfortable Queen , 1 Bath, Sleeps 4 With Sofa Bed

Casita Coronado is centrally located in the heart of San Miguel de Allende and just a 10 minute walk to the Jardin and La Parroquia. The Mercado de San Juan de Dios with wonderful fruit, vegetables, and arm loads of fresh flowers, is just a short walk away! The Casita provides convienent access to Spanish langauge schools (Warren Hardy and Centro Mexicano are both five minute walks). Please note: Casita Coronado is accessed via a circular staircase which rises from the ground level to the apartment. The staircase continues up to the private rooftop terrace which has 360 degree views.

The property contains the Casita, the Casa rented separately (see VRBO listing number 196392), a garage (available if not being used by Casa guests), and the laundry and utility rooms.

The Casita has its own private street entrance, a large cheerful bedroom with queen bed, lots of closet space, a complete kitchen, a comfortable dining area with a new sofa bed for when your guests drop in, toll-free calling to the US and Canada, and a great TV/Entertainment area complete with a new flat panel "smart" TV and high-speed internet access. For cold nights we have installed two safe (both vented outside the casita), efficient, wall furnaces. The Casita also has a private rooftop terrace with a tejado, beautiful plantings, and ample seating to enjoy the beautiful San Miguel sunsets.

Our housekeeper (Ana) comes to clean and change the linens three times each week. If desired we can arrange to have someone cook for you. The property is managed by an English speaking manager (Andres) who is always on call in case you have any problems.

San Miguel de Allende (SMA) is a beautifully restored 400 year old colonial silver city, considered by many to be the prettiest town in Mexico, and it is protected by the government as an Historic Trust site to ensure that it stays that way.

SMA offers an extraordinary array of concerts, live theater, lectures and famous art institutes (Instituto Allende and Bellas Artes). Classes are offered in painting, sculpture, weaving, dance, photography, and ceramics to name a few. There is a wonderful English language library with the largest collection of books in English outside of Mexico City.

Weekly events are published in the bilingual newspaper, “Atencion”, each Friday.

Best.New Years. Ever

  • 5 of 5

We loved staying at the casita. The owner was attentive and helpful from the time we made the reservation to check out. The bed was comfortable, there was heat when we needed it. The rooftop deck was a real bonus. There was plenty of drinkable water. We were able to buy fresh fruits and vegetables from the local organic market and cook breakfast and lunch daily.

The best part was walking to the main plaza for New Years Eve. It was packed with families and people of all ages counting down the New Year. There was a wonderful band and terrific fireworks. It was one of the most fun New Years we ever had

The casita and San Miguel de Allende require a good level of fitness. It was fun for us to walk up the metal circular stairs to the Casita and on the uneven and sometimes crowded streets of the town.

We would definitely recommend the Casita and hope to be back.

Great location and amenities

  • 5 of 5

The casita is located close enough to El Jardin to allow walking to almost anything - but far enough away that the bells of the paroquia don't keep you up at night!

The rooftop deck provides lovely views of the city and the fireworks.

The full kitchen is a nice benefit for lengthy stays.

Overall this place was comfy and met all my needs - I would easily stay at this property again.

Second year and we like it even better our home in SMA

  • 5 of 5

We returned this year for a month to this very comfortable and charming casita. We love the location as it is central and at the same time very quite and not in a crowded area , it is close to Restaurants and great stores as the Mercado Sano , Natura and many others. Also close to our favorite wellness center Life Path offering great yoga classes with a wonderful teacher. The casita has a fully equipped kitchen with great pots and pens of all type. I love buying organic veggies and cook delicious dishes in this well equipped kitchen. The bedroom is very spacious with a very comfortable bed. The bathroom is spacious. The upstair deck has comfortable lounge chaires surrounded by many beautiful pots of flowers. A great place to relax and read . The living area is very comfy with a nice loveseat three chairs and a flat TV where you can even access Netflix. The staff at the house is great. The Manager Andres is very efficient he speaks English and will respond immediately to any of your questions . Ana the housekeeper is great comes three times a week and the casita is spotless. John the owner is very responsive and kind we have never met him personally but he has been very responsive to any requests we may have made. We certainly will return and highly recommend you stay here when you come to SMA.

Where You Stay Means ALOT

  • 5 of 5

Maybe a boring title BUT you can stay at so so place that does the job and that's it. THIS IS NOT ONE OF THOSE PLACES. The Casita added to our wonderful stay in San Miguel. It is roomy, colorful, well maintained and fully stocked with all the pots and pans and dishes, everything you need if you want a quiet evening at home. The colors are vibrant and remind you an a wonderful way that you are in Mexico. There is a rooftop deck that has beautiful views and is perfect for an evening glass of Mexican wine (Really, the Mexican wine was great and we're from Napa) or a bottle of Tecate.

Ana, housekeeper, is a joy and keeps the large 1 bedroom clean and stocked. There's even a washer and dryer downstairs just in case you run short on socks that last day.

There is PLENTY of room. Don't think twice about that.

Another very important point is the distance to El Jardin (main square) is about 10 minutes walking distance where there are great restaurants and all sorts of very fun activities.

Great place. LOVED it.
