About Robin Smith

I have raised two young boys to men in this house and have perfected the place through years of improvements. The downstairs has recently undergone major modern renovations while staying true to it's original design as a Victorian, while the upstairs has been kept in it's original architecture so as to preserve the integrity of the Victorian. My eldest son recently helped put the finishing touches on some of the painting, and I personally chose all the furniture and art within the homes. I reside in San Francisco and still stay at the home occasionally, or provide my family with a unit when visiting. I often introduce myself to occupants and enjoy personally leaving a bowl of fresh organic fruit and some coffee beans for visitors.

Charming property and very pleasant owner. Everything was has it supposed to be...and more. The stay was fully equipped, the surrounding is very quiet. There is a late-night grocerie on the same block and restaurants on Mission St, Glen Park or Church St are a 10 to 15mn walk away. Bus 14,49 and J are 5mn walk (expect a 30 mn ride to Union Square).

So definitively a good and confortable place ta stay in SF.

Thank you Robin

Amazing place!

  • 5 of 5

The listing was just as described and then some. Perfect size for a small family. Robin was a gracious and friendly person to deal with and went above and beyond to welcome me and my family and help us with anything that we needed.

The property is in a great location as it is on several MUNI metro bus lines and a block away from the 'J' train that allows you to get to most parts of the city. There are also several restaurants nearby and is within walking distance of grocery stores.

If you are going to rent any place in San Francisco, this is the place to get!

Excellent Stay!

  • 5 of 5

Everyone knows how expensive San Fran is, so when I found this property at such a reasonable rate, I was very excited!

The location puts you farther from downtown, but once we got the hang of the buses and Bart system, we were set! (plus we don't mind walking) I kept my family busy and we managed to tour Alcatraz, the Muir Woods, a Giants game, Golden Gate Park, Pier 39, Disney Museum, Golden Gate Bridge, and various other smaller places without much hassle at all. I would recommend figuring a way to get a pass for either the bus or Bart, we could have saved some money had we done that. Using Google Maps for the bus system worked really well.

Robin, the owner, was extremely helpful....from how to get to the house, the best ways to go somewhere, and how to avoid crowded areas. We were given a lovely welcome basket too.

The house itself is very nice, the main bed is super comfy. Our kiddos slept on the sofa bed and were very content. A well stocked kitchen made it easy to make breakfast and even a few dinners in the house. The house is in an old building and has such great character, we loved the high ceilings, and the two rooms made it feel very spacious.

If going to San Fran again we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. We have stayed in MANY VRBO's and Robin has by far been one of the best owners we've worked with. You can't go wrong with this place!

Great location and beautiful historic home. This place sits in a quite neighborhood and is close to public transit -which made it easy to get to the piers and other SF attractions. The living room is spacious and the bedroom (and bed) was the perfect retreat from busy sight-seeing days. Robin was a fantastic host and very accommodating.

I highly recommend this place!

Perfect Place for my family and our SF excursions!!

  • 5 of 5

Robin's place was so perfect for myself and my two young teenagers to stay. Although it's only a one bedroom, there was plenty of room for us to spread out and enjoy. The ceilings are nice and high so it gives the place a more open feel. The pictures don't do it justice. Parking at night was sometimes a challenge and you do have to pay attention to the street sweeping signs because all sides of the streets are scheduled for different days. We mostly took the bus everywhere we needed to go though as it was very assessable. The J-Church and 14 run about 1-2 blocks from here. So it was easy to get downtown for my daughter's makeup workshops at Kryolan. Easy to hop on the 280 if driving as well, and was able to get to SF State in 12 minutes for my son's summer camp with iD Tech. Everything is accessible as this place is centered in a great location to everything. Plus Mitchell's famous Ice Cream is only 3-4 blocks from here!! :)

We had a great week "living in the city" as it really felt like home staying here. I am a SF native but now live an hour away in the suburbs, and I want to expose my kids as much as possible to SF's urban atmosphere so that they can understand and respect different cultures.

We definitely would love to stay here again for future dates!! Thank you so much Robin for lending us your place! :)

Charming San Francisco abode

  • 5 of 5

Quaint accommodations in a quaint city. From the first step inside till the last one on the way out, it truly was a home away from home. Beautiful surroundings, inside and out, simply charming. With all that SF has to offer, this location was certainly a great get-away after a day taking in the city and the sites. Transportation, in anyway you would like, is easy access from here. A great stay, no more four-walled hotel rooms, next time, we will have a home away from home.

We will certainly consider Home Away accommodations for future travel needs.
