About the property

3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, sleeps 6

Just South of Siesta Key lies Casey Key. You won't find any chain hotels here- this is 'old Florida' at its very best. Covered in a canopy of tropical trees, the winding Gulf-front street will make for an unforgettable stay among some of Sarasota's most luxurious homes as well as sights. The twisty curves and light traffic also make for a great bike ride around this crème de la crème neighborhood.

Enjoy the serene atmosphere of this opulent Key in your own fully remodeled, designer-furnished beach house. Amenities on this tropical half-an-acre property not only include a private beach walk but also 3 luxurious bedrooms, 2 full spa-like bathrooms, a delectable fully-equipped gourmet kitchen, designer-furnished living/dining spaces, and an outdoor heated private pool complete with waterfall!

Enjoy stereo sound, flat screen TVs, and high-speed wireless Internet after a fun-filled day of boating, kayaking or canoeing, fishing, or sun-worshiping!

To view a virtual tour of Casey Key Cabana, see the link below.

Fishing: Kingfish, as they are commonly called, can pull a line off a reel so fast, they will actually make the gears smoke. These big 'smokers' can weigh 50 pounds or more. Conservation measures in recent years have increased their stock, which has led to a vibrant professional king fish tour up and down the Gulf Coast.

And where you will find king fish, you will find Spanish mackerel. 'Macks,' as they are sometimes called by local anglers, are a thrill on light tackle. These lean, mean eating machines travel in schools, and when the bite is on, it is not uncommon for an angler to catch 20 or more in a day.

And once you have exhausted your opportunities with these two near-shore species, the big decision is whether to head offshore for the deep-water sport fish - grouper and snapper - or head into the protected back country of Sarasota Bay for a little light-tackle flats fishing.

Big-Kid Fun at G.Wiz: G. WIZ: The Hands-On Science Museum may surprise you because it's just as fun for big kids as it is for the little tykes toward which it is geared.

EcoZone has creatures such as snakes, adorable turtles, fish viewable through a special reverse periscope and a creepy crew of Madagascar giant hissing cockroaches.

Admission for adults 19 and older is $9, $8 for seniors age 65 and older, $6 for children ages 3-18, and free for children younger than 3. Hours are 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday - Friday, 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. on Saturdays and 12 p.m. - 6 p.m. on Sundays.

Beach: On Casey Key, Nokomis Beach is a diamond-quality spot inviting folks to set their picnic baskets and brightly colored coolers in the sand.

Relaxing, quiet, beautiful house.

  • 5 of 5

We loved the location . . .easy enough to get to Sarasota and Venice - but had everything we needed close by (grocery store, a couple restaurants etc) BTW The Cottage is a wonderful find for the BEST breakfasts- bar none.

The house is well equipped and layout perfect for guests. TV in every room. The pool was heated and well maintained. The place was very clean. Any problems were quickly resolved with the care taker. We loved every minute. Hope to go back again next year!

Wonderful House in Florida

  • 5 of 5

The house is located on Casey Key Road, a narrow strip of land between the Sarasota/Venice Bay and the Ocean. The house is on the bay side and it takes a split second to cross the road and access the beautiful private beach. The house is perfect for 6 people, it was ideal for us: 2 couples and 2 children. We enjoyed the swimming pool and the beach every day. The kitchen area is large and very open, it provides a great atmosphere for cooking together family style. The bedrooms are comfortable and the bathrooms updated and clean. A couple of kayaks are available and allow for gentle rides with the Dolphins and manatees patrolling the bay. We stayed almost two weeks in the house and had an absolute wonderful time. We will be back for sure!

Beautiful pool/beach house.

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful vacation on Casey Key. This property was beautiful. The pool and beach were breathtaking. It was such a peaceful place to stay. The decor in the house was so "beachy". We had family over and grilled out by the pool. There was more than enough room for all of us to enjoy our time together. The house included everything you would need on a vacation. I loved it. I can't wait to go back. Thank you!

Wonderful Stay!

  • 5 of 5

Ok first off, this is a GREAT HOUSE, A Great Location and A Perfect Place for your family! Lots of renter friendly things, like tons of towels, beach toys, and a well-appointed house. The only thing that was a negative was the fact that the storms have eaten away the dune, and you have a 5 foot cliff to scramble up and down to get to the beach. This was a major problem for my elderly in-laws, as they love swimming in the gulf, but couldn’t get down. We have rented homes on Casey Key for over 20 years every April, and this is simply the best.

More than we expected

  • 5 of 5

Family of six with one in diapers, could not have asked for a more comfortable, luxurious home with all the amenities one would expect from a first class home. Used the kayaks, swam in the heated pool, and incidentally there were no BUGS, and enjoyed the ocean which is very close. Beaches were almost deserted except for maybe on or two others. Kitchen was ideal.

The concierge John, was most professional and attentive. House was completely ready for us and check out was a breeze. We will be back!

The city of Nokomis is famous for Casey Key, a barrier island split with the city of Osprey, created by the inter-coastal waterway where there are beachfront houses worth millions of dollars lining the key. You will find a wide variety of residents and homes on this small barrier island but all enjoy the same peaceful serenity of the island while also appreciating all the amenities of Sarasota and nearby Venice. Casey Key residents and visitors enjoy a host of amenities we all enjoy such as grocery stores, department stores, and restaurants which are all just minutes away. One of the more famous residents is Stephen King, who resides on Casey Key during the winter months. Add to all of this the many cultural and sports activities in Sarasota, often called the 'Cultural Capital' of Florida, and you can easily see why this is such a great place to visit or live.

Golf: Sarasota County has long been a golfing gold mine. A surge in course construction in recent years has only added to the quality and range of challenges for even the casual golfer. By word-of-mouth alone, many see Sarasota on the brink of being mentioned among the country's top golf destinations, a secret waiting to be discovered and explored by vacationers, seasonal visitors and full-time Floridians alike.

In the heart of Sarasota, you'll find four can't-miss courses. For an expanse of scenery, including 11 lakes, bring your foursome to Tatum Ridge Golf Links. The Ted McAnlis course is just east of I-75 and Fruitville Road. The Groves at the Meadows isn't too far from downtown, but you'd never know it by the wildlife that make the Arthur Hills facility home. Be sure to swing by the centrally located Village Green Golf Club, an 18-hole executive course. To truly test your skills, hit the links at the River Club. Having received a four-star rating from Golf Digest, it's considered one of the county's most challenging layouts.

The county's most historic golf property has to be Bobby Jones Golf Complex, a municipal 45-hole layout owned and operated by the City of Sarasota. Bobby Jones, the famed amateur and course namesake, himself cut the ribbon at dedication ceremonies on Feb. 13, 1927. Legendary architect Donald Ross designed the original 18 holes, and nine of them remain untouched after several splendid upgrades in the '90s.
